the cadet uniform has changed and is now very different from these. and they do not use the uniforms with the metal helmets any more because they could not see out of them very well.

Sea Cadet/Marine Cadet buglers (drummers) shouldn't be wearing pith helmets (except the Drum Major with special permission) and none should be wearing RM Ceremonial tunics! RM buglers spend 2 years at the RM School of Music training to earn this priviledge!

Had it occured to you they may have permission or special dispensation from the Royal navy ?
