Many thanks for the lovely comment! Didn't use a pick - just a kind of broken strum technique I think. The key's in the d-modal tuning.

Add e-1st at 8th fret with b and g at 10th fret for great ambulance effect.

Cheers burjazz - is that after the chorus? I'm playing in double drop D here, and play the b and g strings at the 10th fret for the 'bendy' ambulance siren sound. I'll have to try the 'e' string too but maybe doesn't work in drop D.

Hi - yes this one has grown on me and seems to be one of the more popular of my covers. This again is in that alternate tunings part of Hyperrust.

Good job...vocals a little strained on this one, I find Neil very difficult to sing.I love playing his double drop d songs too.This song is very similar to Going Home..I better learn how to put songs on You Tube, all you cover guys are taking all the good ones !!

Thanks for all the comments everyone. And yes agree with 1after909 the vocals are strained - singing not my strongest point! And yes beirouth, I love Silver and Gold - my favourite of recent years. I'd love to be able to play the title track, Distant Camera, or Daddy Went Walkin'
