im having a problem getting my axiom 25 to hook up to my presonus studio one do i need to have it running through midi into my presonus audiobox interface or can the computer already recognize it through the usb alone? bc im still freaking out bc i havent gotten even a sound out of it yet
How would you rate this compared to the AKAI MPK25 and the Novation ReMOTE 25 SL? I'm running Reason 4.0 and I'm looking to get a MIDI Keyboard and I'm not sure which one to get in this kind of price bracket
@kevwaarn I think the ReMote 25SL is great. I personally like the feeling of the keys on the novation better than the m-audio. Also if you are into beat programming having the mpk pads are cool too...
okay, cool, thanks. Just one thing, the pads on the MPK look great but can't you use the pads on the Axiom o program drums also? I'm still none the wiser if the AKAI is worth the extra £70 or so I will have to pay
The AKAI pads have a "feel" to them. They are very responsive - comes from a long line of MPKs which are the std. for beat programming. The M-audio pads IMO seem like an afterthought to me...
Hi! Do you know, why nobody seems to connect Axiom 25 to Cubase? Is it only, because the Keyboard comes with Ableton or is it because of something within Cubase??
I think any program that allows the use a a midi input should work just fine. I personally use my keyboards with logic audio, which includes lots of good synths
This keyboard doesn't make any sound, it just outputs MIDI data via a USB connection or MIDI connection. You need software (or hardware) that converts the MIDI data into sound. If you are looking to play out live, and have a mac, check out logic studio's "Main Stage" - you can build your own keyboard rig and then use this or another keyboard just like it is a hardware device with sounds. Pretty killer.
So explain this.. Since i'm new to music.. This keyboard won't play anything if I plug it straight to an amp, right? I would need to plug it in my music program (fl studio) and use the samples off my computer, right?
thanks! I ended up getting one of the big 88 key m-audio controllers because it worked in my studio better, but for portability the axiom 25 is top notch.
wait you said that only the controller and the usb cam in the box you must be wrong because I saw an unboxing of this on youtube and the guy had a disc driver and a free disc version of ableton live lite 4
Sorry for the confusion - a new one comes with these things, I had lost the CDs and just had the unit and box for the sake of the ebay sale, since people seem to be watching- I have just kept it on ebay.
hey bro nice review, im thinking of getting this for Cubase. Do you know if this is friendly with cubase? i now its pretty easy to assign stuff with this keyboard in reason as it has presets but i dont know if it has presets for cubase? cheers mate
Sorry for the late response, cubase works great with it because there is a whole bunch of presets for soft synths, mixing etc. built into the presets of the box.
