I saw this a week or two ago, and it made me cry so much. Just the line "she never woke up" is bad enough out of context. It is the most depressing movie i have ever seen, and the fact that these things actually happened make it even worse. And i thought Disney was depressing, this is WAY worse than Bambi or Lion King.

I'd like to make it clear that it takes a lot for me to get emotional over fiction. A LOT. I can watch my favorite characters die in horrible ways and see everyone mourning them and not bat an eye.

That said, I haven't even seen Grave of the Fireflies, and I was crying by the 1 minute mark of this video.

@FreeFallForAll It's not fiction. The movie (and book) was based on the experiences of the author himself. His little sister actually starved to death in WWII-Japan, and he's blamed himself for it ever since. He wrote this book as an apology to her, twenty years after it happened.

....Just that knowledge made me weep and I hadn't even started watching this film yet.
