  • I'm lovin' Joan & Sandy singing the duet!!! The Runaways Rule!!!

  • Comment removed

  • " hot dayyymmmnnn" I love that" ;);)

  • It was never the same without Cherie..

  • I wonder if there ever was a time when Lita and Cherie got along or at least were friendly with each other.

  • @SniffySniffles There was

  • 1:38 epic Joan playing with one hand :D

  • Joan can play with one hand! She is just flawless !

  • the runaways '75-'77 and the runaways '77-'78 were like two different bands. but i still cant decide which one i like best <3

  • This song was Cheri's song and she did it best

    period

  • @Veronica4u2day but joan is the one who sang it first in the studio version

anyway I love both cause each one of them add something totally different to the song

  • Joan sings better than Cherie , but I love Cherie too in the runaways .

  • it sounds different without Cherie :'(

  • lol :) I love Vickie too :) Jackie was not better than her ok? Vickie's cute, and awesome :)))) anyway, I love Joan & Sandy ♥

  • So does anybody know where/when this was filmed? If it's in the States, it's the only US concert footage I've ever seen of them.

  • It's sooooo frickin' strange to watch this song performed

without Cherie! It's not the same without her backing vocals

    and amazing dance moves! x

  • this song seriously rocks!!

  • sandy sounds really great :)

  • @IconVanity No, that was not the reason Cherie left the band. She just had enough of the bickering and fighting the girls constantly had and about money and how difficult Kim was to them. She explains it all in her book, Neon Angel: A Memoir of a Runaway. I highly reccomend that book. It's amazing.

  • I love the runaways but it sounded really lame with just joan singing in the beginning.

  • dang....sandy sounds great here

and is that vicky on bass?

  • i luv joans red suit! it loos so aweosme!

  • What happened with Cherie, she quit? :( I just started listening to The runaways so I don't know much about them.

  • She was the David Lee Roth of The Runaways; she overestimated herself. She was a drama queen who was more trouble than she was worth. I love the work she did in the early years of the band but she thought it was all about her.

  • she did quit. Both her and Jackie Fox did.

  • that sucks, they should have kept playing.

  • Cherie quit because she felt the music was getting to hard rock and also didn't like the drugs and heavy partying the group was getting into. Cherie left the group and did an album with her twin sister and also did some acting. She was in the movie Foxes, with Jody Foster, and she also did a small part in the movie The Twilight Zone.

  • @lyddesk8gr8 yea she quit a bit after they came back from their tour in Japan in 1977, If you read Neon Angel by Cherie Currie It'll explain stuff

  • I love it with all of my heart. Eat your heart out, Cherie Currie, or whatever your name was!

  • Where the freak did this footage come from........pretty damn rare I say ! Thanks for posting

  • Lita sang very little when she was with The Runaways; she was pretty much strictly Lead Guitar. After The Runaways broke up, she got some vocal training starting singing on her solo albums.

  • @GaryG660 Lita sang I'm A Million

  • Good video. Must be Vicki Blue on bass. Why no microphone for Lita to sing backup?

  • im missing cherrie in this video. I love cherrie voice but not Joan:S Cherri got a strong voice, and joan a little so. Without one, the runaways arent's runaways and without jackie too that's weird. I miss them!

  • at 2:20, when she's saying "queens" she looks a little like kristen stewart,....but joan is way more gorgeous xD

  • mmm sexy boots joan

  • This also misses Jackie Fox big time. She was the strongest at harmonies and probably the most polished musician other than Lita Ford

  • I kinda like more Runaways without Cherie.

  • no way .. the magnificent 5 all the way

  • Great video! Cheers

  • Interesting seeing the band live without Cherie Currie. There is definitely 'something' missing. Cherie had a great voice - that is missing and the earlier charisma and energy isn't there. Maybe Cherie took that too? I wish she had stayed with them because I think they would have become a bigger band. Something about Joan and Cherie TOGETHER - something magic happened. Thanks for posting video. I LOVE THE RUNAWAYS.

  • I must agree with you.. I love the post cherie songs but.. the quemestry between cherie and Joan was just magical..

  • hey dont dis joan jett. & i dont think the runaways 'died' wen cherie left...just became alot different, not in a bad way, not in a good way, just different. i guess they kinda went alot more punk mostly cuz joan was hangin round wit ppl like..sex pistols, ramones, & a number of utha bands and random LA/new york punks...lil miss popular there...

either way i think the runaways were amazing wit cherie on lead vocals & amazing wit joan on lead vocals. damn it the band was just flat-out AMAZING!

  • Totally agree with you. Couldn't have said it better.

  • Amen!!!

  • great song but its not the same with out cherie currie singing. but litas solos great.

  • I miss you! Runaways! This song was the best!

  • Love it! Thanks.

  • GREAT punk metal. I'm sentimental for Cherie, but this is a damn good band! Love Lita's lead work!!!

  • I agree with you 100%!!!!!!!

  • I love Joan and Sandy's harmony!

  • yeah!! love them! the runaways rox! go lita!

  • Thanx for the vid!! I LOVE those girls!!
