@zinkscott you can transfer your file to your other computer via ssh or sftp. It will be fast if both of your computers are on the same network.

Better idea to use "Ultra" compression. It takes longer to compress, but since the file is being uploaded/downloaded onilne, it is better if the amount of bytes being tranferred online is less. "Store" and "Fastest" will only slightly compress the archive, but "Slow" and "Ultra" will compress it more.

That means the total size of all of the split-up archive files will be less than the total size of the contents of the archive. Means less time to download.

Oh my God! Don't waste your time splitting files! Use a large file sending service! I use Tonsho loads and have even sent files 4Gb big. You can send from your usual email program or via their website. They have free accounts too- happy days! Search for Tonsho on Google.

Depends on what kind of yousendit account you have.

Movies are gennerally 1-4 Gigabytes and a free lite account can only send up to 200 Megabytes.
