@TheJRH0327 The only thing better about your tank is that you have a better list of fish. That's it. Other then that it looks stupid, no natural feeling at all with your rock work. Looks unsturdy btw!
@yeohwl91 Yeah basically when I change the water I remove the majority of the rocks and siphon the waste from the gravel. Then I get to remodel the tank again! :) So its a hassle but I get to change the design every time I change the water so its a new look and doesnt get old. Plus then the cichlids get to explore a new environment and set up different territories like they are in this video.
wow..your tank looks amazing. i have a 55 gallon african tank. and a ton of rocks like yours that i could put in...but im afraid of the weight of the rocks crashing through the bottom of the tank.lol how are you not worried?? i would be shaking.lol
@cichlidkeeper89. If you think this is a lot of rock you should see the tank now! Its got a ton more rock in it now! Most tanks if not all tanks have tempered glass at the bottom. You can put a lot of weight on in too but to be safe you should have a good layer of gravel or sand to cushion the weight. I am more concerned with the table breaking then I am with the tank busting!
@2studmuffin You can also start off with eggcrate on the bottom and put your rocks on that then fill in with gravel around them. Nothing worse that hearing a loud bang and finding out all your rocks fell cause they dug under them, which all africans will do. Happend to me one time. It didn't break or chip the glass but still its unerving. In my current tank i used eggcrate. Find the broken pieces in home depot and ask the manager for a discount. I got 2 pieces for 5..cause the corners were broke

Do you need to remove all of your rock when you clean your tank? If u didn't remove it, how can u clear all the waste product inside the rock?
