  • This looks good but the reason it doesn't work for saving your life is simple. You have to practice with real speed not a willnig partner. You need to practice with someone that attack you like the real thing

  • This is how I dance to Techno 0:28

  • What the fuk

  • good wing chun, not really jkd though.

  • @ninjitsian

so..give me a definition of jkd please

  • @Raz0rking for one this guy is practicing one of the forms of wing chun, the first- sui lum tao. jkd doesn't have forms. the goal of jkd is based on four principles according to my sifu joel ledlow. his lineage is under jerry poteet, who's under bruce lee.

    the principles of jkd are

    always think hit

longest weapon to the nearest target

    Efficiency

    simplicity.

  • @ninjitsian

i know i am "learning" jkd by myself, but if jkd has no forms, how can you say, that it is NOT jkd. For him this block bay be the best and most effective way, so his "form" of jkd.

  • @Raz0rking taking a form of another martial art is practicing another martial art. you don't call karate tae kwon do, you know? the reason I say it isn't really jkd is because he's missing components of what he practices, it's like doing the jeet kune without the do. ^_^. for it to be jkd you have to have and utilize all of the components, because otherwise you're expressing something else.

  • @ninjitsian

i think not so. Using a martial art the most efficient way, adding stuff taking stuff away, so it gets easyier and more effective for me is jkd. Karate and tae kwon do are only names, as jkd is. So forget the name and play the game ^^

  • @Raz0rking but when you're using another martial art and calling it another, that's a misrepresentation of what you're doing. you don't go to some school that says learn to fight above. you want to know what you're doing. if you're using different techniques from a martial art and calling it something else, that's incorrect

  • @Raz0rking Taekwondo, isn't just a name. Neither is, Jeet Kune Do.

  • @XXBruceLee Please explain how Jeet Kune Do is not just a name? Starting on Page 205 in the Tao of Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee, the chapter is called "It's Just A Name". It talks about how people are always attached to identify. Also on page 208 - "If people say Jeet Kune Do is different from this or from that then let the name of Jeet Kune Do be wiped out, for what is what it is, just a name. Please don't fuss over it" - Bruce Lee

  • @simonmafy Jeet Kune Do means "Way of the intercepting fist". Bruce Lee, hated the fact, that people are judge on what art they train in. He saw that every art is the same, just having different methods, but in reality ever kick and ever punch is the same. It is just a name, but it does have a meaning to it. Jeet Kune Do is base on using ones own attack to intercept another attack. The Chi Sa is developing proper energy flow. The Chi Sao is also known as "Sticky Hands". It's a very important.

  • @simonmafy Bruce Lee, also knew you couldn't always be training in the same art, that you love so much. One must absorb all knowledge to understand, just one art. Bruce Lee, never discarded the Chi Sao. He used and practice it since the late 1960's. I've seen footage of it. I've read the chapter that is called "It's just a name". Bruce Lee, also didn't believe in a belt system, either. He figure you didn't need to be walking around with a color around your waist.

  • @simonmafy The reason is because " It doesn't matter how much you know, but how you absorb". I'm still studying the phases right now. When I finish them I'll get back to you on that subject. I can tell your very smart person. You really do your studying. Which is really good. It's rare you'll find someone like that now and days. Yes, I do train in Jeet Kune Do, and Wing Chun. I'm a teacher myself as well. If you have a facebook? We can talk more about it. People on here just don't comprehened.

  • @XXBruceLee I was reading the JKD forums after you made a post about Chi Sao, just to make sure. Based on the general consensus from all the instructors, Bruce did discard Chi Sao in his LA phase. There wasn't much of a debate about that. Dan Inosanto, (youtube it) in one of his interviews, even states that. The question now is...is it because he thought it was useless? or it was useful, got what he needed from it, then moved on? Its been a long going debate on that.

  • @simonmafy Yes, Bruce Lee didn't state that you should always move on. It's like doing sit-ups or push-ups, and thinking that your going to get ripped, just by those two workouts. I think the reason he maybe moved on was because he was looking for another training method to gain more power in his punching and strikes. I shadow boxing with 10lbs to 20lbs with dumbbells. I was looking for a new method for using this training method, by applying a heavy bag to hit, while having resistance training.

  • @XXBruceLee and yes, I do remember the footages. The philosophy of Jeet Kune Do didn't become official until 67-68? Judging by Ted Wong(he claims Wing Chun is almost non existant aside from reading it in the 5 ways of attack, he's a level 2 JKD, which each level is one year of training, Dan was level 3. So if you do the math, Bruce died in 1973. So around 68-73 he made that choice. Those footages you see I'm pretty confident is older...expecially if it had Taki Kimura in it.

  • @simonmafy Bruce Lee, was much higher than a level 2 JKD. I've been training in Jeet Kune Do for 6 years now. I'm at level 6 currently. I know the 5 attacks in Wing Chun. The JKD forums I've study a little bit though. I have almost all, Bruce Lee's books too. Yes, Jeet Kune Do became official in 1967. Do you know Pak Sao & Pak Sao Lop Sao? Do you practice the Pak Sao drills? How many years have you been doing Jeet Kune Do?

  • @XXBruceLee I'm afraid you misunderstood. The levels given to Ted Wong and Dan Inosanto, was by Bruce himself. Only Bruce could give out certifications in Jeet Kune Do. Atleast official ones signed by Bruce. Bruce trained them 2-3 years, if that makes sense. Umm, I do lap saos, I do jut saos, but I never do pak saos very much. In the name of trapping I think Pak Saos are the worse. Yes, I train JKD. Oakland phase.

  • @simonmafy Well, Bruce Lee passed away. I love the trapping though. I take online lessons online. I learn from watching other JKD fighters as well.

  • @XXBruceLee Oh ya, from who? I always wondered about online lessons.

  • @simonmafy You have, Tommy Carruther, Ted Wong, Master Wong. It's how I learn Wing Chun and Jeet kune do. I wish, Bruce Lee never passed away. My first school was Robinson's Taekwondo here in, New York.

  • @simonmafy The Chi Sao is still used to this day in Jeet kune Do. Jerry Poteet teaches the Chi Sao to his students.

  • @XXBruceLee I know he does. Bruce Lee discarding it doesn't mean everyone followed. Some people teach only from one phase, while others teach from various phases, while some people look to create something more efficient. Jerry passed away just recently. Sad day. If you look for chi sao instructions based on a JKD perspective, I highly recommend learning from Jesse Glover, Bruce's first student. He stuck with the Seattle phase. Same with Taki, but he's low profile.

  • @simonmafy The Chi Sao is great for training your hands to be very powerful, and to learn how to flow energy. A lot of people still follow the Chi Sao. We a School down in, New York. Who teach the Chi Sao. Ip man teaches the Chi Sao. He even stated It's really important to practice the Chi Sao. I was looking at the Oakland Phase. Their no good, either. Ted Wong just recently passed away as well.

  • @XXBruceLee LoL, I have nothing against Chi Sao. Bruce got rid of it. Only he knows why. My Oakland lineage comes from James Yimm Lee, one of Bruce's three certified instructors. Ted should have been the fourth instructor in my opinion. In Oakland, Boxing got added to the Wing Chun, Not too much on fencing as that was the LA phase, but Bruce still informed James (Oakland), and Taki (Seattle) about the changes. As for Ip man, it was rumored there's alot of things he didn't teach.

  • @simonmafy I didn't misunderstand. The levels in JKD. I know already know, that only Bruce Lee, could give out certifications. If you want learn more about JKD or Wing Chun. Look up, Tommy Carruthers?!

  • @ninjitsian You claim your way is the "gospel truth". You do know that there were many phases in Jeet Kune Do. To understand Jeet Kune Do, one should learn from where it began when Bruce moved to the states, to where it ended when he passed away. Seattle, Oakland, Los Angeles etc. Sil Lim Tao was the Jun Fan Era in Seattle, where he also created the Ung Moon form. He certified instructors from different phases. This guy you see is probably an earlier phase of JKD. PS: Chi Sao was discarded!

  • um, you understand that jkd evolves right? wouldn't it be ignorant on this guy's part to keep using and teaching inefficient motions? and @raz0rking if karate and tae kwon do were just names then everyone would be learning the same movements... I'm not trying to bash on the guy, he looks like he has decent wing chun, it's just not Jeet kune do.

  • @ninjitsian I totally agree with you. But maybe this is just marketing material. Now from my experience, alot of instructors would show off the flashy compound trapping to get more students to join because it looks cool. Now please define inefficient motions. We were taught a straight line is the shortest distance between two points. Yet, there's hooks for both kicks and punches, high kicks, progressive indirect attacks, elusive motion/constant changing footwork etc. To me its very grey.

  • @ninjitsian But again, going back to evolution of JKD. In the end, JKD for a development for an individual will be different for everyone once they learn all the phases of it. As for instructors, its clear there are three types. Ones that teach movie style jkd, ones that teach it how it was taught to them (Taki Kimura? Ted Wong? James Yimm Lee?), and ones that teach and try to progress the JKD material (Dan Inosanto). They were all certified by Bruce, yet they all teach differently.

  • @ninjitsian Since the certified instructors under Bruce from different time periods all teach differently, this is where JKD politics occur. Even more so when Bruce said he lost faith in Wing Chun and threw out Chi Sao, which Jerry still teaches, and Ted doesn't. Neither of them are wrong. So how do I define if a person knows JKD. As long as they show they understand, fencing, boxing, wing chun, footwork and the five ways of attack...i'll acknowledge them. =D

  • @simonmafy I can dig that, the four principles are also important too.

the thing i'm saying, is that when you think of the four principles within jkd, this guy doesn't do all that you know?

He's missing 2 of the components, efficiency, and always think hit. actually with his staff form or whatever he has a lot of complicated motions. know what I mean?

  • @simonmafy The Chi Sao wasn't discarded! You're a, dumbass!

  • @XXBruceLee Your reason why Chi Sao wasn't discarded? I'm sure you know something about all the phases of Jeet Kune Do that I don't know. Seattle phase, Oakland phase, and LA phase. Perhaps you can shed some light on your authority on the subject. Do you take Jeet Kune Do as well? Under what phase or lineage?

  • @Raz0rking I've taken both wing chun and hung gar under sifu ricky leturia.

this guy has the stances of jkd but watch how many moves he uses to block a punch. in jkd, you would simplicity try to intercept the first hit rather than do all that passive blocking

  • Hes not fat at all, its all muscles....or he won't be able to be an instructor.

  • this is all choriographed bullshit, ina real fight no one is gonna stand there whilst you grab their arm doing ur flashy moves sorry but no. Looks good in movies, dont work in real life, there gonna be coming at you full speed throwing fast, hard punches , how are you meant to do these fast movments when they might attack differently to the way u train with other practitioners of this art, no one will stand still whilst u grab ther arm attempting to do a take down or whatever

  • JKD.......This don't look nothing like it. Looks like a fat man version of wingchun lol

  • Its just a fat guy going rage ona a punchung bag.

  • Simply to simplify ? ..

How can some1 with such technique not understand the filosophy of JKD?

  • How can you over look that one simple technique is NOT the answer to a REAL FIGHT?

  • great video and demonstrations !!!!

  • Jeetkunedo is the oneness to all

  • He was doing kune Fu

  • this is not jeet kune do at all....

  • @izzybear8 correct, it certainly is not

  • @junfanjkjd He's still the jew version of Lee Jun-Fan(RIP). Goerge you dont need anyone to tell you that you're not to be fucked with.

  • M I C K E Y M O U S E

  • lol at the end that was jujitsu or judo not jeet kun do you dont teach someone how to tap dance then cal them ballerina.

  • @boris999222666 True, but one has to learn from many masters.

  • mma fighters are weaker in anyway because they have rules. if u take away the rules than that just means that can reaqlly let loose. i honestly think its more impressive to do what they do with rules. imagine if they didnt!

  • mad homo at 3:40

  • i'm not impressed jeet kune do is just wing chun with a different name

  • this is not jkd.

  • @edoardopaterno1987 I agree. Most of it isn't. Some effective JDK moves, but the philosophy and having no style is not present here.

  • @edoardopaterno1987 ....a lot of rehearsed routines, which isn't what JKD is about.

  • when you fight in sports, u fight 2 win, but when u fight on the streets, u fight to live.

  • @11ryugami very true. i fight in sport and in art. fighting is my art. what most martial arts fail to practice and what sport (fighting) does is simulate another person attacking you. you can never compare a ring sport to the street but dont discredit the ability of a sport fighter. believe me the shit will still work on the streets. non the less your right

  • 3:20 and onwards seems to feel abit gay, I don't wanna carry on watching

  • Nice vid

  • this is more like backyard wing tsun

  • A lot of this stuff we also learn on MMA training.. Some JKD elements look usefull to me for in the cage...

  • I see you telegraphing at 1:26

  • the song ruined it

  • it all shit

  • Isn't a jkd man supposed to have a really defined physique ? No offense but this dudes fat..

  • @heelflipboy (sigh) why the weight should matter? All that really matter is the skill. NOT ABOUT HOW YOU LOOK!!

  • @milanac1022 the weight completley matters. if you get two equally skilled people but one weighs 130 and the other 185 who would win. yes skill and technique is the major key but if a brawler like bob sapp (horrible fighter but a beast of a man) hit any 130 pounder...... i dont care how good you are your gonna get dropped

  • @muaythaigenius28 I see what you mean but one can be fast, strong and flexible

no matter what size you are. I agree with what you said about bob sapp and yes, he

is a horrible fighter but he is really strong. When you were talking about the guy on the

video... You don't really have to look like Bruce Lee to be trained in Jeet Kune Do. You can

be as skinny as you can but if you are not in shape, you cannot expect to be a good fighter.

Don't worry about how you look to practice an art my friend.

  • @milanac1022 yeah i agree with you. sorry i didnt and have not read the previous comments, i was just responding to the comment i read. sorry if you already said this before

  • Look at this. Practicing systemized drills.. This isn't jkd.

  • So is sticking your finger in someones asshole part of the style lol.

  • your a fag for fast forwarding

  • Se eu falar que você é um charlatão vão me criticar, digo com prazer e convicção,você nem ninguém vivo sabe jeet kune do.

  • Nice video George.

    Regards from

    Omnislash / T.R.

  • fat dirty wog. GTFO thanks.

  • ok then.....

  • Detta così volgarmente, questa roba è una merda.... Nessuna tecnica è migliore di un altra e solo i "collezionisti di tecniche" possono affermare questo. Solo le abilità di chi pratica uno stile può vincere sull'altro.

  • dang even though this guy is prolly not the real deal it looks like he can still woop ass real jkd or not

  • @the8thvanguard . . .and that's all that matters!!!

  • Bruce lee was trained in wing tsung originally.......

  • you are so gay~

  • I'm 46 and badly out of shape and could easily take this show off down with a staff. JKD is not about having fake attackers stop in mid attack so you can look good, and it is definitely not about spinning a staff like a little baton girl in a parade.

  • this guy should fight MMA

  • what the f***k

  • this guy has more form and more mindset in martial arts then any of these people posting negative comments. if you truely know jeet kune do bruce lee himself tells you it is not a style, it is a way of life.

  • boxing <3 ! !

  • lol i love the part where the gun is pointed at his face.......

  • isnt this Wing Chun?

  • where is JKD????

  • wtf !poor bruce lee...

  • this isent jeet

  • what a bullshit this was not near jeet kune do:D.. this guy should first lose some weight befor he will able to teach anything to anyone... and one more thing.. jeet kune do is suposed to be usefull in a fight on the streets but the tehniques that he shows will not be usefull in anything. The first guy you fight will kill you..

  • The Stars Wars kid's BFF

  • oh my..jeet kune do is a system. no real forms, you can using jeet kune do, wile using another martial art. i saw/used it in training last time (boxe francaise/savate)

  • Comment removed

  • If this guy actually thinks hes doing JKD he is sorely mistaken

  • Ya'll gotta remember demonstrations prove nothing, no point of even taking this shit seriously, demonstrations are just a way for an instructor to show off, get himself/herself known in the world of fight

  • Comment removed

  • GAY :) hahaha

  • dogshit

  • lol terrible posture and he's not even looking where he's attacking...this reminds me so much of the star wars kid lol

  • JKD!!! una maquina eres amigo

  • jeet kune do is not a martial art..its more of a way to for you to make urself adapt to different ways of fighting..

  • bad example of jkd. looks more like tae kwon do

  • lousy asshole

  • wow people are full of shit. this guy is pretty decent and actually pretty good. "BUT WAIT MAN HE DOESNT DO JIU JITSTU OR HE DOESNT FIGHT IN THE CAGE MAN HE SUCKS BECAUSE ANYTHING THATS NOT MMA IS REALLY REALLY GAY"

I can't wait for the true fighters of styles and ways that aren't MMA to come out and shut everyone the fuck up!!!! Too bad they know better

  • @jeetkunedo117 That's what happens when Americans take a good idea and bastardize it! Free fighting (MMA to all the fanboys out there) has been around for ages. No one ever questioned the validity of it or the validity of the more traditional arts. One is for the ring with rules and one is for the street or battlefield without rules. It's as simple as that. One is not better than the other. They are for different purposes. A hammer is not a better tool than a wrench. It depends on the job.

  • @hulkout666 exactly man. but hey what can we do but SHOW people with our own fighting? no one will listen unless we have something to show for it

  • @jeetkunedo117 I know what you mean. There have been many underground fights over the years like in Hong Kong before. Wing Chun, Choy Lee Fut, and tons of other stuff. Of course, people always want proof. What they don't understand is there were no camcorders or cell phone cams back in those days. And also, then just like now. people don't want to record it. They're illegal! Why would they want proof which could incriminate them?

  • @hulkout666 exactly! too bad we live in an age more worried about seeing and believing rather than common sense

  • @hulkout666 good words man

  • @hulkout666 Exactly. It's ironic how jeetkunedo117 himself is caught up with styles. Can't blame him, though. We like to put things in boxes. That said, fanboys are indeed annoying. But there will ALWAYS be fanatics and narrow-minded folks, no matter the topic. And I like your tool analogy, hulkout. If one thinks a hammer is the only tool, then that person is a tool him-/herself.

Shit, just realized that this old username makes ME look like a fanboy, lol.

  • @hulkout666 That's interesting you say that. I have recently read the 'Tao of Jeet Kune Do' and Lee mentions that you must be ready for anything, not all fights will be coordinated and static.

"Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend."~Bruce Lee 1940-1973

  • @hulkout666 Yes, because America is so fucking bad am i right?

Just going to inform you that Canadians are basically from the US themselves and are equally inferior to us godly Europeans,

  • @hulkout666 But which one will prepare you better for swimming? Doing the movements on land or on water? If you fall in deep water, and all you did was swim in the air, would you not drown? I would rather be learning to swim in a pool to prepare me for it than on land. Simply put training in sports will prepare you better than practicing with a non resisting opponent.

  • If you turn off the video, and just listen to the music, it's not bad. But, aside from that, it's a bastardized, americanized, excuse for what this guy thinks is martial arts. Thank God for Youtube!

  • @tricityandrew this guy is really good dude. i can tell tell. hes a good fighter.

  • The teacher is not crap just the students I mean if a stuent is a black belt n jkd what happens if 5 mma fighters aginst him would he learn anything from his teacher? But igusse u just have to get in alot of real fights like bar fights or stuck in a dark alley way or wonder in a gehtto that ur real traning anything can happen but i gusse all u guys no that by now duh ahah just bored ????

  • why would people kept saying he is crap or shit like that? seriousely his fist are pretty quick and his basics are really good.

  • @captinpaxo2 lolzz, yeah his movements aren't as pretty but they pretty useful in real fights i suppose. Then you look at 144 or 1:45 when he fights back. Although is like 2 times slow than it should be, but he still got the concepts trust me he isn't that bad.

  • @captinpaxo2 lolzz, yeah his movements aren't as pretty but they pretty useful in real fights i suppose

  • 3:21 worst arm bar since the arm was invented by God Almighty.

  • @captinpaxo2 lol.. that is not macarena.. that is wing chung the original kung fu before jeet kune do. It might seem pretty werid but in real fights.. your ass might be kicks with in seconds

  • he is doing wing chung is well

  • lol

  • so...this is where the idea for Kip in Napolean Dynamite came from! makes sense. I have a question: do you expect someone to hold still, not know how to attack and just fall down as you speak the movements out while you do them? thats exatcly how my Grandma would attack you so you'll be safe Kip...I mean Sensai.

  • asshole

  • I fucking lold

  • -Definitely not Jeet Kune Do at all. JKD is not a system, it is a philosophy. This guy's just another wing chun wannabe phony. I didn't see one properly executed interception in the whole clip.

  • @089hlj yeah, this guy not really mastered the Jeet kune do, he only got the basics of wing chung but, he is pretty good already.

  • kote gaeshi against a grab???

    simple, direct and not classical...

  • ugly guy doing some coreographed stuff. I am not impressed.

  • if its not Jeet Kune Do its the closest thing to it.... This Guy is a Fuck n BOSS

  • man you people are stupid, not you gh

  • hey ...., that´s not jeet kune do, that´s wing chun, there is a diference

  • obviously wing chun.

  • excuse me but that is wing chung

  • jkd?

  • @bruceleejeetkunedouk

    I hope no...

  • Nice Jeet Kune Do... >........>

  • Thats bullshitting and not fighting

  • I dont know this teacher and dont agree with a few things but regardless, he has some skill . Not the prettiest or most structured, but effective.... enough to get the point across.

  • blocking instead of parrying???

  • wtf, since when do we grapple in jeet kune do. Way of the intercepting fist?

  • Who taught this guy Jeet kune Do ???

  • simplycomplicated333@ Thank you for your comment, it was pretty funny. Thank you

The video on the whole was ok, but the comments made this clip enjoyable to watch. Thank you Osu

  • i think this is a joke

  • @jamesinct no joke but seriousely this dude has got pretty decent basics, he can kick your ass

  • @jamesinct How so?

  • @jamesinct

I agree, this guy is repping JKD yet, he's doing Wing Tsung Form, wtf? Just from that, you know he's a fake.

  • is this video a joke?

  • I hate the mook jong with a passion. It feels so unnatural.

  • grat. but this is wing chun or ving tchun.

  • this is just wing chun kung fu

jeet kune do is a lil different, where are the kicks?

  • superb sifu. I wish in Ecuador there were a jeet kune do school.

  • I can see Jijutsu + Wing Chun + Karate.

  • and box

  • But I wonder, why don't we see people doing these untraditional sports in ultimate fighting, MMA..

  • @Sharukkin Maybe because self defence concepts like JKD actually try to cause injuries while in ultimate fighting they try to prevent them? Other reason could be that JKD doesn't play by the rules. If you can kick your oponnent in the balls you do it. I don't know, I just try to think of reasons^^

  • @Maivia987 No, I mean if for example you're good at JKD or some other untraditional sports why wouldn't you go to MMA? Cause knowing perferctly to defend yourself, having strong hit etc. you'd have big chances in MMA.

  • @Sharukkin Because they don't work. The trainers are much better in mma than in JKD. There are a lot of frauds in JKD.

  • No matter how funny is the exersice at 0:30.))) This guy looks like he's good at what's he's doing.
