@hockeybrat95 its a crawling ghillie suit. ment for laying on the ground. the ghille suits you see that covers everywhere is ment for crouching/standing because the excess just in the front would get tangled when crawling

I bought RUSTOLEUM CAMO paint. Tan, light green and brown. That helped excelerate the the crappy, dirty, dingey look your looking for. It also helped the fabric be a bit water proof

im not trying to talk shit on your suit but you the way you have your jute layed out just at ten feet away with the camera do you see how all the colors blend into as one? you dont want this you want to be able to tell there are different colors in there becaue at say 40 yards when someone scans over the field they will see this blob of one color, and you dont want that, you want your outline broken up so give a bunch of contrasting darks to lights near each other to break your outline up better

I use medium brown, all natural, untreated, Flax twine made in Russia. You can find it at "Harbor Freight" in 900 foot rolls for about $5. each. I cut these to the desired length, and untwist most of it, but I leave a few as is in each bundle. This string is made from the fibers of the Flax plant and it smells like a hay bail. That's as natural as it gets next to fresh cut veggies. It absorbs smell very well, so I put the suit in a trash bag full of fresh Pine Needles 3 days before a hunt.

@horriblepain Look on line at Army surplus stores for the netting. Sometimes you can find it without the camo wired to it. If you can't get it that way, buy the type with the camo attached and use some wire cutters to remove the camo. I'd get the 6 foot by 6 foot if you can find it. If not you may have to go to the 12'x12'. I found 5 new pieces of the plain type nylon military surplus years ago. It's about 16'x16' . Using the net makes the suit very heavy though.

This might work in a field of grass or the like but man too green. You need browns, subtle reds, different shades of green and even yellows. Try stringed up burlap next time. I hope the corps worked out for ya, I'm a former leatherneck myself.

it would be done exactly the same way as it is on the back, for sewing that's something you'll have to figure out of your own. but its not difficult, it can definitely can be done, i have done it. you just have to cut up teh net basically making 2 of everything. etc. 4 lower leg pieces 4 thigh pieces 2 torso pieces and upper neck and hood. and also 4 upper and lower arms pieces.

you should end up with rectangular pieces and 2 larger rectangles that make up the torso. you could make a separate cover like i did in the video, or a hood. believe me Ghillies are enjoyable to run in, they aren't really meant for that. but im sure you get the picture. if you have anymore questions just ask.

im from england and the best place i found was the army surplus shops or ebay. the best net i found is old tank nets as it is already weathered and you can just glue it on at the knots and comes with cam already on it whitch makes a great base for the burlap or jute.

great idea... might i suggest maybe like a little more on your arms? and maybe get some canvas and foam and what you do is put the foam on your chest and then put the canvas over it(and do this on your legs) then attach it and you have something stronger then the army uniform? just a suggestion.

best way to break in a ghillie suit "pig pond" bitches. go find a muddy hole throw your ghillie on and crawl thru it, over and over. then crawl thru grass, dirt more mud. do sand angels, roll over and over and repeat as necessary

nat vegetation will wilt and die..and quite quickly in very hot conditions. Constant changing is a necessity if you don't want to look like a crawling rot pile. Maybe not so much for paintball but in the real world...gotta do it.

you add it by weaving it in and out of the net, its tricky at first and can be time consuming but its worth the time and effort.

If you buy a ghillie suit off eBay, you never know what your going to get. You might get shitty net attchment, shitty jute, and most possibly shitty dye. Thats why you make your own, so its suits your environment!
