  • how do you hold your brakes? with one finger or 2? not sure

  • @hutcheon01 it's important to hold the brake with 1 finger only, this gives you good enough grip on the bars.

  • i can get on my back wheel but i can t hop

  • everybody push the "CC" button and then "transcribe audio"....that's some weird shit:D

  • @eBaSsplAyEr94 AHAHAHA WTF WTF

  • diffinitive...

    utilizing...

    My head hurts...

  • can I do this on a mountain bike?

  • @midgetin0gravity sure im trying on my XC bike its hard and takes a lot of practice and time

  • dude the box idea is so smart! <3 trials

  • is 20"or 26" wheels better for trials?

  • It depends on what you prefer, I personally prefer the 20" wheels and the majority of people do including danny macaskill :)

  • thanks

    i have a 20" trials bike

i love it but i was just wondering of 26" is easier =]

  • danny macaskill uses 24"

  • Oh sorry... i thought they stopped making 24" tyres these days... never mind :/

  • danny rides a 26! LOL

  • no he doesn't, 24"get ur facts right before you correct people, he used to ride a 26" but now he uses most often an inspired 4play 24"

  • do we need to hold the rear brake to do that umbelevable trick

  • yep

  • do u need to hold the rear brake while doing this?

  • It seems to cause the wheel doesn't move

  • What is the name of this bike? What type of trials bike is this called? It looks more like a mountain bike then a trials one.

  • let off brake and push down on your pedle

  • Doint this on a mountain bike is a pain.

  • thats real

  • i can do 4 hops then my front wheel drops too much

how can i keep it up and keep hopping for longer?

  • Comment removed

  • practice

  • i can get my front tire up in the air, but i can't figure out how to get my back wheel off the ground. I just end up pulling back and having to put my feet down. Is it the same motion as a bunny hop?

  • do you hold the rear brake if yes, do you have disk brakes

  • most trials bikes have a front disk brake and a normal back brake.

  • pretty cool

  • yes u can, i saw personaly try to do this and saw many videous where guys do rear wheel hops with a shit mtb, with a trail bike is more simple to do but dont warry u can do all this tricks in MTB too but it very harder, goog luck guys :)

  • can this be done with a mountain bike? and do trial bikes really make a big difference?

  • hmm...thats not the trik called kujo??

  • who's the guy on the koxx at 1:34?

  • u hold the back brake right?

  • yes you hold the back brake

  • @Nexumbiker110 No shit

  • Any time i do these i travel backwards and my crank turns so i have to stop because im not in the right position anymore any help please

  • in one of the later sections of this video, he demonstrates releasing the back brake briefly during a hop - allowing the back wheel to spin a little and the pedals return to level.

  • I cant stay in the midle... For some reson.. plz coment

  • should i be wearing my clip ins while trying this or should i put on my regular pedals? i couldn't really tell from this video.

  • you really don't ever want clips for trials, your probably going to fall pretty hard.

  • what if u cant balence on the ledge lol how do i get the balence right??

  • just keep practicing

  • get ryan leeches signature frame the norco manifesto

  • nvm, i'm getting a hard tale frame for my biike now

    XD XD XD

    =-]

  • Go Canondale Chase or don't go at all. Its a good trials bike.

  • i can almost do this on my bike

its double suspension and weighs a tonne

i can only do 1 of occasionally 2 hops at a time before my front wheel drops too low

is there a technique for keeping the front wheel up for longer?

    =]

  • the way to keep the front wheel higher is to find that balance point, right in between where your front is too low and about to drop and when your front wheel is too high and you are going over backwards. You never find the balance point perfectly, that's why u see everyone keep hopping all the time to re-adjust their weight distribution to get the balance point again, you just have to keep as close to it as possible and with lots of practise you'll be able to stay up on your back wheel

  • question: is it better to deflate the tirepressure?

  • For trials riding, yes. You don't want it completely flat but you definitely need less pressure than for regular mountain biking. I like to run about 15 lbs in my tires.

  • dude your awsome on trials bike very talented, but can i ask do you have the back brake on thw whole time when u r doing these hops

  • yhhh

  • can i this still be done on my really heavy double susp mountain bike?

    =]

  • if you got the power yeahhh..

i can do theese on a reasonably light dual sus. but if your doin trials much better with a hard tail

  • Dude, thanks for that advice, I was wondering if you could do this on a full suspension.

  • dude these vids are helping me so much!! youre very detailed as well as talented, keep up the good work!

  • can you do any of this stuff on a "wallmart" 30$ bike... putting aside the fact that it can break... and focusing on the weight of a normal walmart bike.... no suspension or gear or anything

  • if it has a good rear brake , you can

  • Thanks Ryan ive practised like 2 weeks and now i can do 10 rear wheel hops thanks dude :D Good luck Have Fun! :)

  • So, do you have the rear brake on the whole time when you are doing these hops?

  • yes

  • i wish i had that kinda balance... ive been workin on that trick for a couple of months now. didnt know it had a name though. i can pretty much get the end in question up and i can hold it for about 2 seconds until i fall backwards...

  • man thanks for this tutorial! i learned trear wheel hops, now i just need my bike back from service and i will go and continue training right away. :P

  • can anyone reccomend an alright trials bike i can learn stuff n for less than £150

  • oh and can i use my mountain bike for this?

  • i learned how to do the all the steps of the rear wheel hops, my record is 17 hops, and i can spin a little bit, almost the 180 and all thanks to this video :]

PD: i also learned some steps of the pedal kick :B

  • BOOBS are great

  • YOU are stupid

  • yes thats why it squeaks

  • do you have to press the rear brake while hopping the rear wheel?

  • YES.

  • What bike is that?? I got the diamondback response atm is that any good at all for those tricks?

  • and what is that bike he uses??? :D

  • im getting gt chucker 3.0 in a week. Is it good for all of the tricks sergitobt has shown in his videos(+this one?)?

  • i learned the pedal kick first and have never tried the other 2 methods. i cant hop but i can wheelie and i started my first ever wheelie standing up and doing pedal kick

  • i always fall to the sides.. should i work on trackstanding more? i just cant keep from falling off the sides (giant stp1) ^_^

i to trails.. trying to do trials but yeah i just fall off the sides..

  • I can hold the move but i can't jump with the rear wheel...

  • Is someone can tell me how to hop like that? I'm able to do an endo and shift my weight backward. But still I can't hop. Is he unweighting the bike when the front whell is in the air?

  • dude, do you have to pull the rear brake when you're lifting the front wheel ?

  • yeah off course dude!! ore else the bike will roll

  • thank you...all clear now

  • eat shit fag you couldent handel a fall like that pussy from tank fall

  • gibsonfreak21 try with v-brake

  • I have a rear disk brake and seem to be having trouble with this could som1 tell me if i need a v-brake for this stunt or if its just me?

  • pull really hard on your brake dude, like quite a bit harder than it feels like you need to

  • KK thx for the info dude

  • this has to be the best and only good tutorial on how to do back wheel hops

  • when you on you back tire do you lock up the back brake?

  • yeah unless you are doing another pedal kick to bing u back to upright

  • dude i can't even do the thing at 25 secs- balance with one wheel up on something. there's no hope for me ha.

  • whats a good bike to start on i got a giant youkon its nice but wats a better one

  • it depends how much your willing to spend if you want to buy new i think you should buy a onza t-vee that is the bike i usto have and learnt most of my tricks on before swapping to a zhi zm2b with hs33 rear brakes

  • better bike, would definatley be a giant stp 2, 1, 0 or pro, it's a good series

  • whats a good bike to start on i got a giant youkon its nice but wats a better one

  • The dude at 1:35 isn't ryan leech right? beause ryan rides left-foot-foward

  • Yeah Thats John Webster

  • is that a trial bike???

  • yeah, but the backbone is a bit higher than a ''normal'' trialsbike...

  • you're good how long have you ride

  • he's been riding for fourteen years

  • yeah, she does trials too.

  • i have a kona cowan hard tale its preaty heavy

  • use th rockin to get up on back wheel and then flick the back wheel up it gives you loads of height for tricks like whips and tweaks even tabletops if your good.hope tht helped ppl.lol

  • i bet that your the real geek here.. imagine calling someone in real life a noob and never had a gf ? dude i bet you never had a gf ... or you wouldnt have said it.. enough said motherfucker..

  • he dont have a girlfreind, but better, he has a wife, so get it up ya

  • you mean hold the back brakes when you are doing the pedal kick to get up or after you pedal kick?

  • after

  • i always fall off from bike to side any tips?

  • just practise;I

  • don't try to hard! it may sounds stupid. but it coming natural. to get your body and your bike up into the air, you'll have to move your mid- section up and pull up your arms at the same time... but first i recommend just trying NOT to hop but just find the balance point (by rocking up to your front wheel like in the video, but only without the hops)

hope it helped! Let me know;)

  • do u hold the back brakes

  • Yes you do hold your back break because if you dont the tire will slip out from under you

  • Its quite hard on a bottlerocket!

  • i got another way...i'll just say for those hu dun get it the way u wan..instead of using the pedals,uu could but the stand problably the haro type which are thick and round, den the distance between your legs and yr handlebar are longer which needs less effort to lift up the back wheel

    enjoy =)

  • why cant i bring myself to hop on the wheel when i do the pedal kick way? anyone can tell me why?

  • sprinter, you just gotta practise, i can hop as much as i want and i started trials a few monts ago. just get thruu this boring begining of learning trials and you'll enjoy riding your bike.

  • this is much harder than it looks. i have trouble finding my balancing point once i get the front wheel up. anyone who can do this is seriously skilled

  • Its not that hard, its all in the practice.

  • and practise is what? Easy? :D

  • thankx mynameownes

  • wat dvd are all these tricks from , plz get back to me soon (today)

  • The film name is in the description. "Mastering the art of Trials with Ryan Leech". Hope this helps =D

  • thats a tiny sprocket

  • I'm still falling sideways too often... I'll get it eventually I hope.

  • I have the exact same problem!

  • This. Guy. Rocks.

Thanks for the effort. However, could you teach me how to do a trackstand with my front wheel up on the 2-foot box?

    pmfbiker(dot)livejournal(dot)(com) - no double-u's

  • yeah man. I'm still learning this move myself but here is what you do. Ride slowly up to the obsticle. Compress and lift your front tire. Let it get to the top of the obstacle so your front is up and back is down. Make sure you're standing/crouched the entire time. The first few times you'll just fall right down so be ready to put a foot or hand out to catch yourself. The other way is to prop it up on something, lock up the brakes hard, then slowly put both feet on the pedals

  • great series for mtb skills thanks

  • cooooooooooooooooooooooooool
