A lot of you don't know the rules of criticism. Don't insult someone unless they are in some sort of power. If they have a record deal or are a politician for instance, it's free game. But someone just starting out, exploring, defining, leave them alone. How would you like it if you were trying something and people started bashing you hardcore instead of trying to help you?
P.S. Do not listen to any of the haters. 99% of them do not even have the balls to put up a YouTube video. I'm sure you expect both positive AND negative feedback. Keep doing your thing, you're definitely talented. And you can only get better....

hm you do not have tompa style down your throat is too tense wherever you are screaming through try going through like mid to back of your soft palate also he kind of using mouth to change sound as he screams so it is montonous but have differing flavor if you know what i mean

I'm not in that band anymore but all the songs currently on youtube for them have me on vox.
I think you did a great job consinder that the real song is mixed and so on, and a girls vocie will always be different. maybe this song didn't really did your voice any fair i dont know. but keep going :)
I adore you, but I think you do death metal (deeper) vocals a lot better. Maybe with some more practice you'll get this style down, but right now, I didn't quite love it.
Hey, I think it's good to try, but it just might be that there are certain things we can't do. I know I can only do certain things with my voice, and I accept that. It's good to try, and I do just to try to challenge myself, but at the end of the day, I know certain things are out of my reach. Just my 2 cents. :-)
@hecbiz75 I get what your saying but you should never give up on trying to conquer something you're not yet good at. If you stick to only what comes easy, you're vocals will go stale.
@Alxxxs Yeah, I agree. Practicing unfamiliar things, or things that don't come naturally to you is great. Even most of the greatest death metal/black metal vocalists have their signature style. I might bet money that Chris Barnes couldn't do this, or sing black metal. It's just not something that I think he could do. He could practice at home, but going to the studio or a show and trying to sound like a black metal vocalist would be a bad idea even if he was doing a cover. SFU has done covers...
@Alxxxs ...of many bands, but he basically doesn't alter his vocal style. Again, I don't think he really could sound half-way decent trying to sound like a black metal dude, so he sticks to his strengths. I hope I'm making sense. :-) Yes, practice everything you can. Hell, practice opera singing. But, every singer needs to determine what are his/her strengths and stick to those, at least in public and studio recordings. :-) ROCK ON!
How about "Out of Body" by Pestilence It would be interesting to see someone try to re create Martin Van Drunen's unique voice I mean he in my opinion has the most unique death metal vocal style I've ever heard. Also I love your vids for your beautiful voice and also because none of your videos say shit in the title like "16 year old girl does death metal vocals" Jeez I hate that so hopefully you'll consider my recommendation. And remember "Thrash to Kill Blood will Spill' Keep it brutal \m/

Well, yout breakthrough it's clearly related to your breathing. The air flows freely, doens't choke as before, which gives you the sense of power, because this way, you have more "throttle". Congratulations, Alxs!
Your evolution is awesome. Needs a little bit more of projection (which the mic will help), but the higher vocals don't choke anymore, the air flows just great. And don't forget that the original was recorder with a mic and was mixed and mastered.
@secomeister Thanks! I felt I had a breakthrough with the projection the other day. It still needs work but I figured out what was holding me back. It was weird because i was practicing and feeling really frustrated and out of frustration I just started pushing harder on the high vocals and suddenly they sounded more powerful. It sounds straightforward but it took "hitting a wall" to get to that point
Your lows in your other videos are freaking brutal, but no offense, you need a bit of work on your highs. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love your work, but Tompa is like the fucknig high shriek master, so in order to truly do this song justice you need to be able to go craaaazy high :P
I like your other type of vocals better. This one needs more practice. Request: me devil by sigh (dont even check them out if you hate sympho black stuff)
