Dude you are amazing. I think you beat out george kollias not only by speed, but writing and technical ability. You dont just blast like a lot of "extreme" metal drummers do. Ive always been one to enjoy the musicality in music, and there isnt much of it when the whole time it sounds like a gun being fired fully auto.
@DJS264 Hey man, I'm not sure, the band has really been slow finishing everything up. I want to hear the full album myself! I'll try getting in touch with them to see the status. I know Guitars and all keyboards were tracked and finished last time we spoke so hopefully soon. Thanks for the comment.
Ive been following your drumming since "We are the nightmare" and i must say i was totally mindblowed by you, specially when you play "Shattering the spell" and "A feast for the liars tongue". Itd be great if you could post any of these 2 songs being performed by you, cuz im sure theres plenty of us willin g to see that!! Cheers and keep on going!!
@reactor4music hey buddy! Thanks for the all good words and I'm glad my work interests you. As far as that Arsis record, i've had a few requests for different tracks on there. I haven't decided which to do yet, but it definitely is on my list. Once I finish this Eschaton record next month i'll make a new drum video and I'll keep your suggestions in mind! thanks again
that is so sick bro!!!!! that double bass at the first is crazy! how many BPM are you playing on the bass drum... and whats your bands name bro???i likey!!!!RAD dude!!!!
I like this song, it's a little slower and progressive compared with most of your recent stuff, which makes it extra appealing for some reason. I'm sure you've answered this a million times but how would you explian your different stick techniques? It looks like a combination of some wrist, and very controlled finger movements in this video, and more like french style finger blasting in some of the goratory vids. Thanks again for your music!
@user5649 Hey, thanks man. This album was definitely a bit of a departure for me. The songs were long and dynamic but it was a great experience putting the pieces together. As far as my technique, it's pretty simple, all my speed and power come from the wrist. The grip I use is very particular in order to utilize this. My fingers move as the stick hits them but they aren't doing any of the work. Hope this helps! thanks
Let me start off by saying this is a beautiful composure and your melodic style along with your insanely technical attributes in playing completely pulls this track together! I cannot wait to hear the finished product!!! On a side note, everytime I listen to this, I fall more and more in love with the china to the right of your right hand ride. What is that china???
@UBERtrustless Hey, I agree that this album has some really epic compositions. I'm eagerly awaiting the final disc as well. They're all really long, but dynamic pieces of music. It's something like only 7 tracks but 40 mins or so. AS far as the China cymbals, on my right, it's an 18" Wuhan and a 16" I'd prefer to have something different, but cymbals break and they're so over priced right now, but these sound great anyways I think. Thanks for the comment!
@cindacurtis Haha, yea, that's a really cool tune, I dig it. I'd have to relearn it man, but maybe if I get some free time somewhere along the line I could. Thanks!
Hey man, Correct, that's where I said in the last response that my third technique starts to add in an ankle pivot, or swivel. I don't use it that much though since the tempo isn't as high in this tune. Check out some of my other video's though, it's really in there.
Hey, Thanks for the good words my friend. I just found that the belt feels a little smoother. There are less mechanical parts to deal with. That's just my preference though! As far as foot technique, I use three types. I use a full leg movement for slower tempos, then a floating ankle for faster speeds and for the fastest speeds I add in and ankle pivot. And always heels up!
