  • please help me... i'm trying to make music with cubase but i can't hear a sound!

  • I have cubase Le 4 and when I hit Alt K nothing happens. Do you know what button it is?

  • Where can I download VST instruments? I have only one drum machine (with no sound samples for some reason), and several synths..

  • I am new to Cubase, I tried setting up me drum beat but for some reason appears as 'not connected' and cannot hear anything when I lay down a basic beat.

    Help please.

    Thanks.

  • duude why did you make this video 3:45 AM? :P

  • where did you get all those instruments ?

  • dude arent you dj monopoly from TeraBrite??!! :O

  • @JohnTheGreekGuy Go see his channel and you'll see.

  • Thanks, this was very usefull. just got new Midi Contoller (the M-Audio Oxygen-25) and i'm practicing making songs cause i just got it all hooked up and working.

  • With the virtual keyboard on cubase can you use the letters on the keyboard that ain't shown like the letter B for example

  • It's not your fault the quality is the way it is. YouTube interlaces every video whose height is not divisible by 16. 1080 is not, so the video is deinterlaced. Completely fucking retarded, but that's the way it is. :-/

  • DAMN i want cubase

  • i imported a midi drum track made from guitar pro. how do i edit the sound of the drums or the kit used ect?

  • anyway you can get these programs for free?

  • use a script

  • i don't have vst instruments, what should i do?

  • @zaapeer google "free vst instruments"

  • Actually very helpful indeed this video

    Thanks for sharing

  • how do you assign your normal keyboard to samplers etc?

  • To make your life way easier you should start selecting "GM Map" instead of "No Drum Map" on your Drums MIDI track. It's to the left when the drum track is highlighted, same area as where you select the midi ins and outs.

That way when you're plotting down your drum hits it's just dots rather than the messy midi window you're using.

  • @afxwinter I have tried that before and it is much more confusing to me for some reason and the way tools work in it is just strange for me. I guess I just got so used to the No Drum Map. But you are right, for someone who has never used the No Drum Map, the GM Map would probably make more sense to them at first.

  • Nice tutorial

  • i dont have that many options when when i to left click on vst instrments window, and when i put halion one i dont have many instruments, where do i download to have more instruments and more track u know?

  • Thanks for putting this instructional video up! I was able to get an Instrument called "Drumaxx 01" that I downloaded up and running. What I didn't know was to use the pencil function to draw an event and then double-click the event to get the keyboard for laying down the beat, etc., etc. With these DAWs, all it takes is a little "light bulb" moment. Thumbs up to you!

  • I already program midi drum tracks using Guitar Pro 5, is there a way of importing these, to then assign a 'realistic' drum sound?

  • thanks bro!

  • I can see that it records the midi but I can't hear anything...

  • @Pakanahymni You have to have the midi track outputting to some sort of VST Instrument. I have it outputting to Kontact 4 with Steven Slate drums. Got to 0:30 I talk about pressing F11 and pulling up a VST Instrument. If you do have one up, then you didn't allow that VST Instrument to create the MIDI track by itself. If that's the case, go to your MIDI track and change the output to whatever VST instrument you opened.

If none of this works and you're doing everything I said. Audio card problem?

  • @yournameinink can i have it output to an external midi instrument? ie my keyboard

  • can you pan in it

  • @yardee101 Pan what? The drums? Of course!

  • when i record in cubase 5 it doubles up on everything and it gets crowded with midi notes in the midi window what did i do wrong it also changes the sound of it does anybody know whats wrong ?

  • @beatz32 It might change the sound of it if the dynamics are different. try changing the volume of the notes in the bottom of the MIDI window. I think I explain that in this video. Also, when I used e-drums the notes used to double up when i had crappy mesh heads or it had cross talk. What are you doing to get double notes?

  • @yournameinink i dont know what im doing to get double notes i just start recording and it doubles on the notes i play it also leaves a series of long notes in the midi window when i go to edit its really irritating any suggestions on the double notes maybe something is set when it shouldnt be

  • oops im too poor to buy it ;/

  • where can you get this Steven Slate Drums?

  • @Sickindian5 stevenslatedrums (dot) com

  • what is that tool you use to make a slate?

i sware it doesnt work with me ?

  • Hi i am a new user of Cubase 5,what i wanted to tell is when i export my sequenced performance(mix down) it gets compressed and as a result i get only 50% volume out of 100% which i get when i am inside the DAW,it also affects the quality of music !,i export in a WAV 32-bit,44.100Khz,Stereo interleaved.. Any expert here or the owner of this account can put some light on this chapter ..............

  • @desiguy118 From what I understand, you get what you export, volume shouldn't change. It might just be that when you are in Cubase you are using a section of your audio card that plays back louder than the OS. In my audio interface, the windows volume control doesn't effect Cubase at all I have to use a separate software mixer. Also, I really doubt you will hear much of a difference in quality going to that no matter what you normally record in. 44.100Khz 16bit is CD quality. 32-bit is overkill.

  • great tutorial! How would i export this when i have a finalised drum beat that i want as an mp3 or wave file?

  • @OffToSeeYourMother File > Export > Audio Mixdown. But first you have to make sure that the starting and ending loop region markers are at the beginning and ending of your music.

  • How can i get this floating control who show up at the beginning ?

    Thx

  • @tedre191 I don't understand your question. What control are you talking about?

  • Thanks!

  • @sanmuino no problem! =]

  • Excellent tutorial man, it really helped me a lot in creating a nice midi drum track from scratch. Steven Slate drums are wicked, thanks for uploading.

  • @sevendust357 Steven Slate drums are definitely where its at!
