  • I've listened for twenty years & saw ISIHAC live for the first time last night - still chuckling now over Samantha getting her greatest hits out & Tim Brooke-Taylor apprently tossing Christopher Biggins over a towel!!

  • I love the samanthas - the one at 2:00 is hillarious...

  • Miss him :(

  • RIP HUMPH

  • God bless him he was my idle as a 5 year old! He is dearly missed! There is nothing like S.I.H.A.C.!

  • saw the first ISIHAC since humph died...Stephen Fry was good, but just got my wife listening to it, and would hae really loved her to see it with the chairman rip humph you'll be missed

  • I'm only 16 so i have only recently fell in love with the show, the first series i listened to was the series with the rotating hosts, but i have listened back to old episodes, which are brillant, i really like jack dee doing it though nothings been said that he is the permenant replacement he's just did more episodes, though i thin they will go with jack as the full-time host, he's funny enough, he can read the script very well and have his own material which is great

  • Humph was totally underrated. He has the driest comic whit i have ever heard. Has me smiling even thinking about it.

  • I've often thought it would it would've been cool if a local girl at each performance venue 'played' Samantha or Sven.Have they ever done this?

  • I've ordered the live dvd from Amazon.

    I LOVE ISIHAC!

    Much love from Australia!

    PS RIP Humph

  • Was lucky enough to see Humph in Tunbridge Wells!! Sadly the Dartford performance was cancelled due to a power cut!!

  • Humph will live forever.

    Legend.

  • What a breath of fresh air real comedy!!!

  • Samantha has a new Italian gentleman friends who's going to take her to the seaside to buy an ice-cream. There's nothing she likes better than to spend the afternoon licking the nuts off a big Neopolitan.

  • @peterhowardlawson My drink is now all over my laptop screen...

  • Samantha is a figment of the teams imagination. She is a play on words. Because the show is normally transmitted on Radio there is no visual evidence of her existence. Therefore they carry her onto the stage in the same vein

  • Samantha has had to leave early as it's her new Gentleman friends birthday. He likes model boats and Samantha is going to give him a little tug later on.... priceless!!

  • hey, i have been listening to loads of these tapes but i dont get the whole 'samantha' thing, can anyone explain?

  • Samantha was one of the many running jokes in ISIHAC. I'm almost afraid to reveal the secret.... but there was no Samantha and no Sven either.

  • Hey, come on! It's pretty obvious. There was no Samantha. "She" was simply a vehicle to allow Humph to come up with some double entendre jokes.

  • my friend itroduced me to this

    it is the best

    thanks ollie

  • Another irreplaceable man gone.

Jonners was in the same mould.

Alas I can't bear to listen to the current crop.

It will never be the same again, as I was saying to the wife's sister in bed this very morning.

  • I actually find Jack Dee a surprisingly good replacement. Obviously nowhere near the level Humph was on but still a good fit for the role.

  • And, come to think of it, Rob works well for me too. I thought Stephen was the weakest of the three. His debonair style doesn't match up with the grumpy script he has to work with.

  • i reckon with time jack will get more comfortable like humph has always been, there are definitely similarities

  • Brilliant that ISIHAC is back on the air again, but Oh how I miss Humph! Good on you guys for Honouring his memory by continuing.

Loony british humour at it's very best.

  • Sunderland - Nordic for who was reading the bloody map?!

Brilliant brilliant line. Humph was officially a legend

  • Not the same today without you Humph! Stephen Fry tried, but it just wasn't the same.

  • Stephen is too kindly to the panellists- just wait for the Jack Dee episodes!

  • R.I.P. Humph, you are simply irreplaceable...

  • Chortle chortle!

  • He really did have great timing. I've heard him improvise some incredible lines.

  • Humphrey Lyttleton. Just incredible.

  • hatgirl - I agrree the show ought to go on just cant imagine it without Humph. How about Jack Dee??

  • you got your wish, maudie25. he's doing the southhampton show soon.

  • RIP Humph

    Copy/paste

  • he was wonderful but how he got away with his double entendres is amazing. Loved the one about the chap who only had a semillon. We shall miss hm so mu ch. Dont agree that the show can go on - it cant without Humph. MaUDIE25

  • it can. but it would have to be completely different. i don't think humph would like the show to die just because he did.

  • Thankyou so much for posting this!

  • RIP, Humph. The master of the one-liner.

  • This show was so funny

  • RIP Humph

He was a bloody leg end

  • @lauraaab A bloody leg end? I think you mean legend.

  • @BludRedDragon No, he meant a leg end.

  • I love how he looked confused as to why everyone laughed ^_^

  • haha i'm listening to this right now on the wireless

  • legend

  • RIP Humphery. Missing u

  • Such a sad loss.

  • Rest in Peace Hump - you'll be missed xx

  • Unforgettable. They broke the mould when Humph was born.

  • What a fantastic show ... who'll take over from such a superb host?

  • Nobody -- nobody should, I think. Maybe with another name. The format is definitely great, and so are the performers, but they've had a great run.

  • laddiebuck12:

I disagree people die, move on, or get fired from shows all the time. This just means the show morphs into something else. It will not be the same without him but that's not to say it won't still be great.

  • Sure, but not all the time, not for the classics. The Who went on, but Led Zep didn't. Some do, some don't. I feel this show wouldn't be served by piecemeal replacement of the cast -- perhaps by a complete recasting with a new young crew, sure. But this generation's had a good run and belong as a unit.

  • Just brilliant! Thanks Humph fot bringing so much happiness to so many people

  • I would like very much to see some of his cartoons from the time he worked for The Daily Mail.

    May God Bless his soul

  • RIP Humph

  • Thanks Humph for some terrific memories..there will be a great gig going on in Heaven right now.

  • "when he saw her shorten curly's" fantastic!

  • :'(

  • I never thought learning about the death of an 86-year-old man I never met would affect me this much. He will be greatly missed.

    Mornington Crescent!

  • Legend

  • Legend. Miss you humph :(

  • What a great man - I will miss his dry wit and sharp mind

  • RIP humph, radio will never be quite the same without you.

  • I'll miss him.

  • As will I. Truly a legend :(

  • Farewell to one of the funniest Englishmen of our times, we lost a true character. RIP Humph, and thank you.

  • Rest In Peace, Humph x

  • LOVE IT!!!

Just been to isihac live at Leeds! I thought I was going to pass out/die laughing!!!

    PS: Heather loves Tim.

  • I was there too - wasn't it wonderful?!

PS Jess loves Tim too! :-D

  • @HEV29 I'm dying to hear the radio program this was a spin off from, "I'm Sorry I'll Read That Again" (spoofing newsreaders who stuff up). I can't find any links on the internet and if I post on Yahoo Answers they'll just take it down :-( I'm not in Britian either.

  • A true British legend!

  • Nice one, Jess! :)

  • do you have all this programme ?

  • Wonderful! Humph is a national treasure, as is Clue...

  • Thanks for the clip. do you have the whole show? unfortunately i missed it when it was on ITV. Would love to see it all.

  • A national treasure!

  • Yes, it's just not the same without Samantha, but Sven's even cooler.

  • I can't thank you enough for uploading this! I'm a big Finnish ISIHAC fan. I hope one day I'll attend a recording.

  • thanks for uploading! Humph is cute :D

  • Cheers for this. Humph should have a Statue erected in his honour

  • EBursey, I understand that Samantha is doing her best to bring about an erection at this very moment.

  • :-)

  • OMG THANK YOU!!!

  • When is this from? I actually remember these jokes. And who is that with Tim? Such a shame Samantha isn't in this clip - I do so love her dresses.

  • It's Jeremy Hardy next to Tim

  • Actually it's Tony Hawks. ;)

It's from Sunderland which took place on November 26th, 2006.

  • whoops! So it is (shhhhhh!)
