42 Valium? Presumably they were the 2mg babies. Still a waste of time, 'cause the drug works by inhibiting the gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) neurotransmitter, of which the brain carries only a limited amount, so after about the first ten pills you'd be about as stoned as its ever going to get you. The rest was just a waste of money. Unless you were drinking booze with it, in which case it'd constitute a serious suicide bid...

I saw Jeffrey Lee Pierce at the Kennel Club in Philly in 1985. Unfortunately, I was so fucking high on speed and 42 valium that I only remember walking into the gig. Was anyone there who remembers?

Thanks 3RRR-radio Melbourne, for playing lots of Gun Club in the early 80's. Such an exciting time. Saw The Gun Club live in the Christal Ballroom. Was a gutfeeling gig !
