Hey could i ask you something? i have this same machine and my diverter stoped working, when ever i get a "lock on" and i shoot it in there it just goes around like if i just shot it at first, could you tell me how to fix it? Thanks
I have fond memories of playing this machine at DePaul University in Chicago, IL back in 1988-1990 and at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, IL in 1990-1992. I especially love the song when the ball goes down the side at 1:15 and it's so cool when you get to the multiball where the siren goes off at 2:22.
whats a display test....i love this game. Played it all the time when it first came out. I have come across more then a couple and played them...only thing that was a problem with all of the last ones i played was it did not count your bonus when you made the ball go in loops...the only one i ever saw do that was the new ones.On the new ones you can collect a lot of points by looping the ball over and over on the top flippers..ive explained it to the owners but they dont know anything about it
i think that the F14 Tomcat has 1 of the best lightshow EVER installed in an pinballmachine.. this brings a lot of memories on me.. im 31.. ive seen this pinball when i was like 8 years old for the first time.. and yes i played it when i barely could see the playfield without an chair.. ive continued playing pinball ever since.. 25 years and still playing pinball STRONG..and cuz of that i am 1 of the best pinball players in the world..
This is the only pinball game other than Star Trek the Next Gen that I ever really loved . i spent more money on this and STNG than should be allowed. This one of course was early 80's when I was like 13 or so and TNG was after I met my wife. Whats funny is my granny would give me money for F-14 and my wife did for Star Trek haha. Man the great old days. Also that stop light on the one next to this looks familiar too.
@blastermaster515 my advice, your in way over your head, best thing to do is call up a professional pinball repair man. He can fix your problem and if you buy him a beer after he's done, he may do a little cosmetic touch up free of charge and play a couple games with you lol
hello, i have the same exact machine. im having a problem, some of the lights turn on when i turn the machine on. but not all of them. the backboard doesnt light up, no sound, and doesnt work at all other than a few lights. does anybody have any advice?
Bit of the Cold War in there somewhere, those dirty Ruskies! Hey great vid, I think what new games over look is the basics, clear objectives, basic sound, solid build. I just rebuilt one of my Getaway machines, what a buzz - high speed alright - in your face Ritchie games rock!
F14 TC pin took more quarters from me in my youth than any other machine I can remember. ADDICTING. I just got a kick in the ass of nostalgia watching this.
Yea, I agree, I'm going to buy a few rebuild kits. I fixed the upper left flipper from stopping and I now have a brand new PinScore display on the machine (the 3rd player display doesn't work in this video). If anyone is looking at buying one of these, or any pin, run a display test, I didn't and paid the price, lol.

Nice video of a nice machine :) Your flippers seem a bit weak though, might be a good idea to replace plungers, sleeves & coilstops.
