  • To suggest being "Maori" now has nothing to with race is intellectual dishonesty, Maori academics tell us it's more to do with culture, but their culture is quite obviously Western European, so who are this mysterious group?

  • mmmm i agree, the idea of having a party based on any ideas based around one race is definitely self conflicting. As having a Maori in me i have never agreed with any of these "handout" and "whats we deserve and whats ours" Political crap. Nor do i identify as a as a Maori. i Was born in NZ and i will work just as hard as the next person because i am a kiwi. Born Equally and equal entitlement.

  • Re Torqueingheads

If you have an understanding of NZ history Maori have been under represented in national and local goverance. This not because of some defunct racial arguement that Maori have separate representation. And for electoral purposes being Maori has had nothing to do with "race" or blood quantum. Being Maori since 1975 is self-identifiable . Seeing this as a race issue blinds you to issues of justice and history as well as ethnicity if you can understand the difference

  • To afford a particular group special privilige or entitlement on the basis of race is the very definition of racism. Maori should have representation, but it should be legitimate.

  • whenever I guff (fart) I say...sorry I just did a willie jackson

  • willie jackson is one of few that would defend the right of a dog turd to lie on the ground simply because its brown.

  • willie jackson is the worst type of racist, maori seats should be won by election, not given as a right to champion one section of the nz public ie. "our people." that is racist right there,if the present government mentioned our people,as in "whites" you would hear the outcry of racism by maori loud and clear, and rightly so,n.z. is for all who live here, together, not as seperate groups, being given a position without earning it is an insult to not only you but to all those around you,EARN RESPECT.

  • oh he's a bloody nut mate a nut!!!!!!!!

  • So could we have a European-Ancestry Party or an Asian Party representing firstly those 'people'.

The government should represent individuals not groups of people. Group representation leads to mob rule. The Maori people should be angered that politians are using them a pawns. For example, if a Maori MP makes a bad policy, does it mean that policy is supported by ALL Maori? NO! The creation of the Maori Party will do Maori more harm than good. It could distance you from the majority.

  • I like willie, hes a no bullshit kinda guy, straight to the point, and says what he likes to his guests, thats a democracy right there!!!

  • Willie Jackson is a racist prick, the guy supports obama because hes black (Willies own words) NOT because of his chartacter or ability...all he does on his radio show is spout racist lies... he does alot of damage to race relations in new zealand, you're scum willie

  • To his credit, he instead spends most of the time having a lippy fight with Tamihere for 3 hours each day. They constantly rant about each other's performance with the 'buttons' as being poor... its crackup but its not always very intelligent to listen to.

  • Good work Metalrose. BradV8 couldn't take the pressure.

  • Quote - Shane Jones from the Labour Party! ...the problem with the Maori is that number one, they've been duped by Labour!

    Shane Jones

    ------------------

Only a FOOL would vote for Labour - the lie to Kiwis and they Lie to Maori - They lie and tell you all the sweetness and good news you would love to hear! Then once they have your vote BAM!!! They say fk off! And hope you forget for the next election! Helen Clark got caught lieing this week!

LABOUR Lie, Cheat and STEAL!!! FACT!

  • 'They lie to Kiwis and they lie to Maori...'

    - Quote by BradV8

I take it that you have now accepted that 'Kiwis' and 'Maori' are two seperate peoples and by stating so, admitting that we are not one people, but two people under the same banner which is therefore logical to theoretically assume that Maori should have their own representational party in Parliment. Well done brad, Im glad you've come around to finally understanding how we see things :)

  • No - It was so people like u can follow Rose!

When I listen to the word Kiwi - I think of People from New Zealanders! I dont think .. aw that dosnt count if ur Maori..

No Maori should NOT have a representational party in Parliment - mayb ONE representative! But not an entire party!

  • You're the one separating us out brad, hence 'kiwis' and 'maori'. I just thought Id pull you up on that little hypocritical notion.

What do you mean by 'one representative' anyway? Is that one representative in the whole of government, one representative per party or one representative per so many baldheads?

And if we are 'one people' as you assume with this concept of 'kiwis' - then why bother with separate representation at all?

  • "per so many baldheads?" this is why I dont find u worth talking to often ...u come across as fine .. but then u remind us all you are infact a real racist!

  • Ok brad, lets for a minute pretend I didnt say that - because you obviously find it offensive, even though its not a racist term, wasnt intended to be and overall, you've said worse things than I here.

Anyway Id still like to know what you mean by 'one maori representative' That is, if you actually know what you mean in what you've said and am willing to defend it.

  • It is a racist turm Rose and you know it is. It means the race relations person - the one person the has ..in Willys words the best interests of Maori at heart! His or Her job only comes into play when race is a factor regarding an issue or topic! Kinda like we already had..

  • Ok, but you still havent anwsered me. Forget about the 'baldhead'thing, its trivial. Just anwser the damn question would you?!

  • What question? I did answer the Maori rep question buddy!

  • No, i think you'll find you havent anwsered my question brad. So I'll ask you again - what do you mean by 'one maori representative'? One Maori in the whole of parliment, one within every party or one per so many 'MPs'?

  • You may find the Baldhead thing trivial - but thats because your have reverse racism you think its ok to be racist because you are Maori. And its not good enough mate!

  • I dont think its 'ok to be racist' because im Maori. I think its ok to accept that mankind in general are racist or discriminatory because we are human. It has nothing to do with being Maori. In fact, if I were to follow the code of my culture more strictly, i wouldnt be able to accept in myself the inherent racism of social conditioning at all...

Racism is not a part of Maori culture brad

  • yeah well I acturly recall you saying you are a tad racist while I pulled u up on calling people baldheads a while back! And once again you say it. I dont really care if YOU dont think its racist because it is ..if u like it or not! I think you know dame well comments like baldhead are not cool Rose! lol dont BS me with that Maori code! lol you have restricked travel if im not mistaken because u have been naughty and the police wont let u leave NZ or Aussie!

  • Ok brad, point taken on te baldhead thing.

BUT YOU STILL HAVENT ANWSERED MY QUESTION!!!

So I'll ask you again for the fourth time - what do you mean by 'one maori representative'? One Maori in the whole of parliment, one within every party or one per so many 'MPs'?

    What say you!

  • So I take it that you dont actually know what you yourself meant when you made that statement? Geez brad, if you dont know what you're talking about then just dont say anything at all, ok?!

  • WIllie is spot on with Tariana Turia. I obseved the way in which she conducted her self on Agenda a couple weeks ago. She went into the inteview solo, and then faced up to a pannel consisting of 4 or 5 critics - I felt nervous for her because it seemed like a tough task to face up to, but she more than held her own and showed she truly is a strong woman with a better New Zealand in mind.

  • Kia Ora Brathaspartan, we meet again. Well she is the Boss. I wish I could have seen that interview. Perhaps you could record and upload one the next time a good interview comes around. ka kite e hoa.

  • Kia ora ano e hoa. She's the boss alright! I would bro but I havn't the technology to do so. I was really hoping to find that particular interview on here, but it looks like it's not. Willie Jackson has some interviews in and around Maori politics on their website. Google front of the box, eyetoeye and you might find something that interests you.
