Try using a swiss ball and place it against the wall and place your shin on the ball and drive it with the hip into the wall while balancing on your other leg.
Try using just the hip flexor of the kicking leg, then switch to driving with the pivot leg hip flexor, then finally using both hip flexors.
This will strengthen the hip flexors and balance, and you can do it in the privacy of your home.
