This is the only cup left for me to beat and I am just so sick of it...I can't seem to keep from getting plowed over

When I was trying to unlock Rosalina, on mirror mode (lightning cup trying to get at least one star), on Bowser's Castle N64 third lap so close to the finish line, I get hit by a MOTHERFUCKIN' SPINY SHELL EVERY MOTHER F***KIN TIME!!!!!!!! But I have rosalina unlocked now.

I'm not too familiar with them since I never had the game, or a Snes for that matter until quite recently. Same goes for Super Circuit and Double Dash
