i was a young carrer from the age 3 and still am one i look after my mum, dad and sometimes i have to look aftermy older brother and somehow have to fit in the time to do homework and get ready for school but i dont have time to make friends at school as i do my work at school. Thankyou for posting this i hope everyone can see this and see that sometime a young carrer could be near them and in need of a friend :) x

I've got MS myself, and at 35 still manage to live on my own (with a lot of help from family and neighbours). I can't imagine what it's like for young kids to take on so much work and responsibility.

They definitely make an enormous difference to the person they care for. This is not something that can be measured, but paying someone to replace them would cost quite a lot.

I want to thank all these young carers for the tremendous work and love that they give.

I have been a young carer for 7 years.I care for my 5 sibiling. and now knowing that 1n of them is gonna die before he is 14 is killing me. I cry every night after mum and dad are asleep.sometimes i wish that i was dead or that i had commited suicide, I would have done that by now if they didnt need my constant care.I dont know how to do nothing i have to be doing something other wise i start haveing break downs even now when im sick and need to be resting i have to do something. Hey, I know how you feel. I used to be a young carer myself and the stress and pain is so hard to deal with sometimes. There might be help available where you live now. There are charities right across the United Kingdom, Australia and America that help young carers with free counselling, they organise free trips so that young carers can meet new friends and have some rest, they can talk on your behalf to school and social services so that people understand your situation.

Try doing a google search for 'young carers' with the name of the place where you live and check if there are any charities near you. If you need help searching for something near you just message me and I'll help straight away. Keep fighting, keep caring and be proud of yourself and remember if you ever need to chat I'm sure all these people who have posted here, myself included would be happy to listen :)

i've been a young carer for about a year now, and it can be stressfull. some of my friends are also young carers and they understand what its like because they know. but those of my friends that arent young carers think they know what its like, and try to make it sound like theyre worse off. but they just dont uderstand. if they seen this video, they would know a little bit more about it.

Thanks for posting this video. It will make people relise just what it's like and be more understanding.
