Kenny G was an early adopter of the current technique of ripping off creative artists with digital technology. Think of all the absolute crap on youtube and pop radio and how derivative it is. Musicians have always covered each other's songs and even copied parts of songs but now people think the greatest key strokes in music are CTRL-C, CTRL-V. Saying that this is disrespectful would be like saying that preforming one of Shakespear's plays years after his and all the original actor's deaths is disrespectful. However, he overdubbed himself playing over Louis' original recording. I'm not even sure how that's legal, much less respectful. What's worse, is that what he plays is a slap into face to everything Louis worked for, which was bringing jazz into the mainstream, and influencing jazz musicians for years to come. Kenny G plays psuedo-jazz. Louis would NOT be proud.

As I stated before, I don't really have much of an ear for this sort of stuff and can't really pick out the differences like a practiced ear such as your's or my sister's could; I just know what I like.
