  • can i use regular flour instead of rice flour?

  • @geeshirlynn

Yes, you can use regular flour, the results will be a bit different, but do not let you hold back from making this.

    Thank you for your question!

  • @freitasex is there a such thing as walnut exstract?

  • @IslamUSA1

    Thank you!

  • I always order this dish at one of my favorite restaurants in Boston, and always wondered how they make that sweet mayo sauce...thanks so much for the recipe! I'm looking forward to trying it, except the frying part. I'm not very good at staying close to a boiling pan of oil -_-

  • @JustPeachy0011

I hope you try my version, thanks!

  • I made this today, my variation view watch?v=CCRdjpdyeLo

  • hi can i use pine nuts as an alternate topping thanks your videos are so nice

  • @lysippus

    Sure, sounds good to me!

  • This looks so good -- 2 questions for you though. 1) Can you substitute the sweetened condensed milk with something else? I'm not sure what I'd do with the remainder of the can, since it's super super high fat hahaha. 2)Can you substitute the rice flour with something else? Thanks for the help.

  • @fezan84

The rice flour, well you can go ahead and make a regular batter with flour and water ans such.... the sweetened condensed milk, you need that and I threw away the rest of the can of that, yes I know... a waste.

Thanks for your questions my friend!

  • @fezan84

Condensed milk is awesome for a number of things. One of which are for its use in coffee as the sweetener / creamer. Try it sometime, the Vietnamese people have been doing for god knows how long. Youtube cafe sua da. :D it tastes amazing!

  • Hey! :D spoke to you about this recipe fianlly you made it, its pretty good aye? but i thought you were like allergic to nuts or somesort but its okay :D well keep going wif ur recipes

  • @89Ef9civic It was very very good :)

I am not suppose to eat nuts because I have tuberculosis.

    I love nuts!

    Sorry it took so long.

  • @freitasex No biggie hah i havent been watching ur vids lately so much stuff to do but its nice too see u tried it :D if u cant eat nuts u dont have to add any walnuts it just gives it the nice nutty flavor when u eat it with the shrimp glad u liked it :D mayo is the best!!!

  • @89Ef9civic

Oh gosh.... mayo is one of the best thing invented ever :)

  • @freitasex yep you said it

  • if you use seltzer water in your tempura, you get an even crispier and lighter crust that soaks that good sauce up

  • @dwtlax

i will try that, thank you for your suggestion!

  • great recipe!

  • @prostiedvizhenija

Do you cook your rice the old fashion way with out a rice cooker? cause it looks like rice glue on the outside of your pots! lol :]

  • @lidomzkimmie

Yes! I cook my rice in a pot and NOT a rice cooker.

  • OMG! Looks soooo good! This was my favorite when we visited a chinese resto in Guam last month. Im going to try and make it. Was just wondering though.... can I use regular flour instead of rice flour? Does it make a difference? Thanks! Im a fan!

  • Very nice! I ordered this dish at a chinese restaurant about a month ago. It was really good. The walnuts were nicely candied and they served the mayo sauce on the side for dipping. I like how you coated your shrimp in it. Thanks again for the great video.

  • @fezan84

    Oh man thanks Fez :)

  • I wondered how that was made! Thanks for showing me...:-) I'll have to try that one day too...:-)

  • @GreatGig1

  • @DDog340

Thank you Dustin, this was awesome... please if you cook... make it :)

This is similar to Panda Express, have you eaten there?

  • @freitasex You know I haven't! I haven't seen any in Ohio. But you know what would be good, coconut shrimp! Like the real thick one with the medium sized shrimp :) Keep that in mind Michale!

  • @DDog340

I simply cannot eat coconut flesh anymore because of diverticulitis.

I did recently make a coconut cake but kept the real coconut off of my portion.

I am sorry, but I will not make coconut shrimp, very sorry Dustin :(

  • Looks delicious my friend!

Hard to watch right now though...

I'm on a no meat of fired food bender ;-)

  • @hallbe

Ben, I wish that I had the willpower to do what you are doing.

I just don't care what I eat that much, but then most of the time I do not eat like my videos suggest.

  • @freitasex Ha ha! No willpower here. Just sick of being sick!! Hey, it's great to see your face on your profile! I always wondered what you look like! Stud!! =)

  • @hallbe

Ben, I have showed myself in 3 or 4 videos.

Two that come to mind are the Steak video and the Cheesecake video.

You see me right at the start and I actually talk and show myself on those and 2 others, but it does not happen too often, hey the vids are about the food not me :)

  • OH MAN! I love all these asian crusine videos! :D

  • @peanutsthyname

    You do?

Asian (to me) is the easiest of all to make!

  • Wow that looks delicious!!!

  • @wc3nExiZi

    Thanks!

    It was very good :)

  • I don´t get it i can´t post any comment, maybe youtube doesn´t want me to tell you that in spain they suck the brain out of their heads and eat it lol.

  • @MissPerversium ok now that worked

  • @MissPerversium

    YES!

  • @freitasex and sorry i forgot, eat them with your hands!!!! fork and knife are forbidden tools :-D

  • @MissPerversium

In the deep south of the USA they suck out the brains of shellfish also.

I was young the last time that I had that opportunity and did not do it.

I will try it now ... next time!

    Thanks for your comment :)

  • @freitasex well i always cook them with their heads on and then ( when i eat them) i just pull the head off, i´m not that much into brain heheh, with green olives and baguette hmmmmmmmmm now iam hungry

  • @MissPerversium

Oh, I would love to eat prawns that was also!

Would you be willing to make a video or tell me how?

  • @freitasex well it is really really simple. Just fry the prawns (with head and everything) in some good olive oil. don´t fry them too long just about 5 minutes till the prawns are hot !!!! and thats´s it. do not use as much as oil as u just used in your video right here. just a little bit. just serve them with green olives and baguette and that´s it. Bon Profit!!!

  • @freitasex and if u feel like.... just add some garlic to the oil while u fry the prawns, just for some more taste. but that´s up to you :)

  • @MissPerversium

    Sounds wonderful, Thank YOU!

    Gracias!

  • I'm just gunna be honest with ya man...this looks like shit..who ever requested it is an idiot...

  • shrimps looks good, have you ever tried fried shrimps with the shrimp heads on?

  • @kent0149

With the heads on? NO, I am too scared of the heads!

  • @freitasex lol its taste good but u have to break off the horn

  • @kent0149

I have eaten the shells of the shrimp but prefer not to.

You are gross Kent for eating the heads LOL

  • @freitasex LOL well anything editable and legal to eat, ILL EAT IT, hahahaa

  • @kent0149

If you eat just about anything... no wonder you watch my stuff.

Hey today I am making a dessert and the oven is on and it is baking.

Gosh it is really cold here today.

Ok I prob will not make your Pho or your Chicago Dog, what was that other thing you wanted?

Some kind of latino food wasn't it?

  • @freitasex yup and nice and idk now.......make what ever you want, i'll tell you when i get an idea

  • @kent0149

    Okay

  • What's the ratio of rice to water when you make rice? Your rice always seems to come out perfect.

  • @MasOvaltinePls

Water and Rice.... um I don't really know.

What I do is put raw rice in a pot and wash it 3 times.

Then add water on top to what looks like almost an inch of water covering the rice.

Take and put the "covered" pot on pretty high heat, and when I hear the water boiling out of the pot onto the stove, I turn the heat off and leave the pot alone just sitting there for 20 minutes or till I am ready to serve, sometimes that can be 35 minutes later.

  • @freitasex I had to laugh at "when I hear the water boiling out of the pot onto the stove..." That's just how I do it, too. LOL, I never quite catch it before that happens.

    Looks delish!

  • @Perroquet51

    Awesome, and it really works!

  • This is so beautiful. I just drooled all over myself..

  • Great recipe ! Never used nuts with shrimp before.

Im going to have to try this

  • Im going to try this today! Looks delicious

  • @undrtkr26
