Letterman is a comedian. Get over yourselves. Leave your jingoism in the trash where it belongs. It's not about canceling the appearance on the show, so much as the "suspension" of their campaign and the motives behind it. Letterman made this point in the segments leading up to the interview several times. Bash Letterman and even Olbermann all you want, but the fact remains that McCain phoned in his participation in the bailout vote and is suspending the campaign after a downslide in the polls.

Obama's philosophy is that you sing during the anthem and put your hand over your heart during the pledge. The actual decorum of putting your hand over your heart is going out of style right now, really. It's antiquated. No one in any other country does it. Pls do some research on this. Bill Clinton stated on "The View" the whole problem very well. This was caused by FanFred who were given subsidies by congress (esp dems) in exchange for giving out loans to high risk minorities to create home ownership equality. what has failed is the notion that we should give a trillion dollars in loans to people with bad credit as an attempt to equalize things economically. We have a situation where people were suing to relax loan regulations of minorities. The more liberal democrats mirrored this with CRA and ACORN along with subsidizing and controlling loan policy at Fannie Mae via loan subsidies, government guarantees, and protection from republican oversight.

Dishing out billions of dollars to prop up failing businesses is what one might expect of a so-called "socialist" government (I've yet to meet an American who understands the word "socialism"). The Bush government wants to give welfare to companies that have been partying like there's no tomorrow for the last 8years, lending money to those who couldn't pay & borrowing more than they could afford.

Some people may feel that McCain's no-show on Letterman isn't a big deal. But it really bothers me! Mostly because he called up Dave personally and lied about the reason why he couldn't be on. Do we really need another lying president in office? In my opinion, he is a coward and untrustworthy, not to mention stupid. He only chose Palin to earn votes, not because of her resume. A very poor decision!
