  • @deeselfmade

Not to worry I think its on her middle finger, not her ring finger! Gives me hope!!

  • Dude they are playing live, and when you play live it sounds different from the stuff they recorded because they know what the recorded music sounds like, and they make it different to give it more of an interesting vibe

  • It's like Karen O and the XX mixed into one. :O amazing!

  • Two people listen to fail.

  • Great sound. Loving the sound scapes. Much love and success to you both.

  • This is beautiful. This is music i listen to when it pours outside and just feel like chillin in bed ^_^

Appreciate the music and talent :)

  • I still think it's funny how the kexp poster thought this was the live version of When I'm Small. Like everyone has said, this is Lucy's Mix. The actual live version sounds just like the original song and they play it really well.

    it's ok, kexp. i luv u.

  • 1st time i hear them... and love at first sight too.

  • hey, what intro song is that?

  • @Evanheads Its still "When Im Small". Listen to the album version and you'll here it. Its just distorted a lot

  • in love

  • oh my god shes so cute!

  • Cool re,ix but the album versionmusic video version was much better

  • I've never heard this song like this. Sweet!

  • FUCKING AMAIZING

  • i truly am not trying to start anything when i say this, but while, yes, theyre sound is unique, for those who feel they are a genre of their own, you should listen to trip hop. the elements of the album version of this song, i feel, are straight out of trip hop. at the least, if you don't agree. you at least have a new 'genre' to tap into. there are some gems in there :) thanks. also, phantogram i loved you at sxsw. austin loves youu haha

  • @technicolorfuses MTE. They sound like I think the new wave of trip hop should sound like.

  • i love when artists play around with their own sounds.... shows real artistic talents. love the slow version

  • Just the fact that people are even debating what they choose to do creatively tells us that this band is up to something great.I think they are super talented myself.

  • I LOVE it when bands play songs differently. Good thing this one is recorded.

  • I love the remix I don't know what you people are talking about. Ah never mind people are totally entitled to their opinions.

  • haters make me laugh

  • i think this sounds great.

the haters who think they own Phantogram and want to keep them from growing, fuck you.

  • Why is everyone bitching? If you want the album version, *listen to the album* or check out one of the many other renditions on youtube. If you want a different but really nice take on a great song, come here. As fans you should be thankful to have options.

  • Just shut up and be thankful for such a band.

  • they remind me of starfucker . i enjoy their tunes more though

  • they remind me of starfucker

  • I actually like this version Better...

  • where can i find this version to download??? I NEED IT =)

  • @happymarkkj this is actually when i'm small (lucy's mix). you should be able to find it on hype machine.

  • SHUT UP, CHANGE IS GOOD, ACCEPT CHANGE, AS FOR YOUR LIFE IS ALWAYS AT ODDS WITH IT.

  • NO! I want it the exact same way ALWAYS!!!

  • This is actually on the album, its the last track entitled "Lucy's remix"

  • I think its dope the two of them can make music together...nice stuff

  • lovely

  • i think i like this version more. i prefer that bands, especially electronic ones, do something different for a live performance.

  • the original is so infinitely much better, this song falls flat without the bassline

  • come to oklahoma, it is in the middle of nowhere but i can drag about 50 of my friends to the concert! (my friend made me watch twilight, she owes me BIG TIME) >:)

  • @Balzook They have a big tour from September through October listed on their myspace page. The closest show is probably Dallas. Your friends should go because they like the music though. Not because you drag them.

  • Awesome band. Awesome equipment setup.

  • deadly

  • They make great musix

  • she makes me think of catpower.

  • I would rather enjoy making Sarah Barthel my spouse

  • I like this better than the original.

  • 10 to one this song is about a cat

  • this is amazing, i love Sarah Barthel shes one sexy singer

  • omg, hi I'm Tony

  • Ableton 8! haha

  • thank you kexpradio for sharing this great music footage with fans around the planet

  • rather amazing :)

im a bit obsessed with 'eyelid movies'

Looks as if they'll be great live! excited :D

  • shes fucking gorgeous.

  • Fantastic!!!I heard about Phantogram just 2-3 weeks ago,and i'm...this is awesome...Will you did gig in Serbia/Belgrade?

  • I like this version more. It is more ethereal. I don't want to compare this group with Beachhouse They are both very different. I do appreciate Phatogram showing range with their resources, however.

  • Damn thats awesome.

  • COME TO LONDON.

  • gotta say i like the other version better.... Doesn't seem as good without the percussion beat thing. I don't know, it doesn't seem to "move" enough.

  • This is like a reprise. Would have been nice to hear the original like on the album.

  • When will you come to London?

  • I love the quiet strength of this live version.

    Im happy now ;-)

  • I really like the group, this version isn't bad, i just would rather my fans heard the FIRST version of 'When I'm small' before this.

It is a little early for a remix, don't you think?

The version you released before is AMAZING and massively better than this. Hey I'm all for creativity, but come one people, the other version is blatantly a hit, ride it to fame :)

anyways, end rant.... I hope to hear more from this group, i can sense talent

  • You understand that this is a live version, right? Obviously, it's going to be different than the album!

  • Yeah, I suppose you are right. It would actually be cool as an intro to the album version.. like an extended version

  • they've played the album version live many times.. this is obviously a remix.... miss the beat in the original though!

  • Regardless, this is what they chose to play. Take it for what it's worth, no?

  • @kexpradio They sound so celestial its quite lovely the way it is.

  • @kexpradio Art is up to critique, even by the fans. I love phantogram but I agree with the poster, if they had this opportunity they should of played the original for people who have never heard of them. The original could be a mega hit in my opinion.

But I still love this version.

  • @okJAVS, not worth arguing about. This is the version they played, for whatever reason they decided. You're gonna just have to take it or leave it.

  • they chose the remix for whatever reason, maybe because they know they have great fans who will talk about it????? or to show another version that people may not have heard or just because they played other so much that they wanted a break. it doesn't matter as long as it's great music!

  • @kexpradio wow i would expect at least you to know that this is a separate song on their album called when i'm small (lucy's mix), its not a live version its a whole separate song

  • @rayzian damn, i've been trying to find a good quality live version and they had to do a remix when I find one----still pretty good but like the original better

  • @Olsonic This version is available as a bonus track on the iTunes version of Eyelid Movies. The regular version is pretty easy to find here on YouTube also.

  • @Olsonic thats lame. if ppl wanna hear the other version they can search for the other version...but they shouldnt have to hinder their creativity to sell their product.

  • @kwooknewin Maybe, I just said that cause I like their music and I want them to make a living out of it so they can make more.

  • @Olsonic maybe, or maybe its because thats how you think. you think that fame and money is more important that artistic integrity and innovation(?)

  • @kwooknewin not trying to come at you all crazy...thats just what my impression is

  • @kwooknewin Yawn, you can straw-man me all you want. To me you are just kwooknewin on YouTube... a knee-jerk flamer that tends to suggest the worst in people. You have no idea who I am beyond a few comments on this video. Don't pretend to sum me up you fag.

  • @Olsonic ahah this is not about me...judging by your response i hit a nerve. im just commenting...if my comment gets that strong of a response from you ...it must have truth in it....after all...im just kwooknewin from youtube. :)

  • @kwooknewin hmmm, not sure how you came to that conclusion. Whatever though, you're going to believe whatever feels the best to you--it's obvious you enjoy doing so. But let me caution you: if your standard for conclusive and empirical evidence is that low; if you really think you can sum me up by a YouTube comment, then you should go back to middle school because you're a fucking retard that doesn't understand how to put together a reasonable argument.

  • @Olsonic ahah at this point i dont even have a point. im just laughing at you cuz youre getting all butt hurt and trying to sound pseudo intellectual when smaller words would do. smells like an inferiority complex hmmm...notice how you have to use words to hurt my feelings :( to justify your "argument" when im not even really trying to prove anything...so i wouldnt even call what i said an argument...i just made a comment and you give it legitimacy by adding fuel to the fire.

  • @kwooknewin lets just hope your FANS dont see how much of a dumb fuck you are on youtube

  • @kwooknewin yawn. you're a tard.

  • @Olsonic ok :) feel better?

  • @Olsonic No this is better...

  • @Olsonic Experimenting with song arrangements is an underrated skill. There are bands and musicians who have enough trouble with one version of some songs. They did quite well, in my opinion. And this is not a remix. It's a re-arrangement. And I think it's bloody brilliant.

  • @spacecadetmike It's amazing that people still respond to what I wrote a year ago, and still take it out of context. Nothing to see here, no need to straw-man me. I never said it was bad, I really enjoy this.

  • @Olsonic It's definitely a great performance, and if they ever do put together a collection of remixes, re-arrangements, live or radio show performances, I really hope this one makes the cut.

  • @Olsonic For a live set like this, a "remix" is sometimes the better choice. An opportunity to play something a little different for the real fans. The original is a hit indeed but this version was definitely a treat :)

  • @wc3415 lol, u say beach house? i say norrrrrrrrrwaaaaaay!!!! but these guys are still great nonetheless.. IN before pitchfork!!!

  • No man, Phantogram clearly isn't a beach house clone. Their sound is way more electronic.
