@simplystreeptacular Dont worry bro, Im a atheist sceintist currently working on the cure for heterosexuals, one day we will beat this illness. Current research shows that for men being locked in a room with chuck norris or ted haggard will cure the straightness, however most women will have a full recover even if given a placebo
@halflinks Except for the part you're completely missing. You know, the one where IT IS NOT A DISEASE AND IS IN FACT PERFECTLY NORMAL. Rarer than heterosexuality, yes, but PERFECTLY NORMAL.
@halflinks The possibility of what? That a perfectly natural trait exhibited in over three hundred species around the world is a psychiatric disorder? That's not open, that's *closed*, not to mention ignorant, bigoted, and prejudiced. Bipolar disorder, depression, OCD - *those* are mental disorders. Homosexuality? Not on that list, because the APA got their heads out of their asses decades ago. Unlike you.
@halflinks Um. No. It is not a disorder. It's as normal as the difference between brown hair and blond, and your ridiculous homophobia isn't going to change that.
@simplystreeptacular A man sticking his dick in another mans asshole is normal?Hmmmmm. What else do you think is normal?Homosexuality is perverse just like sex with animals or young children you fucking politically correct do-gooder misguided pain in the ass.Grow up
@70goldtop Right. Because animals are capable of informed rational consent, just like adult gay men. For that matter, so are children. And therefore homosexuality is perverted, just like bestiality and pedophilia.
In case you didn't catch it, that's something called sarcasm.
Right. Does that mean that a man having anal sex with a woman is perverted, too? Because heterosexual couples do that. The Bible says that eating pork is wrong, are you going to stop eating bacon? I could go on and on...
I've been looking for this clip, thank you for posting! Rachel is so pretty and smart (smart being a big turn on for me). I nearly died laughing when she pulled out the popcorn. I've always fantasized about doing just that in front of someone who I thought was full of it. Blagojevich is such a tool. As an Illinois resident I'm ashamed to have had him represent us. I love you, Rachel!
I laughed so hard when she said, "...in the same way that it's fascinating to watch my friend's dog Noodles..." She's powerful, intelligent, beautiful and she's got great comedic timing. Awesome.
She is absolutely the BEST newsperson on the air. FINALLY someone who brings intelligence with them (other than Keith, who is almost there with Rachel).
I think you are correct leihyphenann. It seems that he is trying to do his best to make himself out to be a victim. It got even worse today with his press tour. Can't wait to see what Rachel is going to say tonight about him comparing himself to Gandhi and MLK.
I dont see him addressing, the people he wants to call to testify..maybe it because he knows jessie, emanuel.and the lady mentioned just might have some ethic problems he does not come out to fair does he? by he I address rachel...
Snappy comeback... but... Funny... especially if you are a guy... So I assume you can't "munch a carpet through a picket fence while wearing a Hannibal Lecter mask"?
Too bad for your girlfriends... or are they boyfriends? Besides the fact that you are an insulting little ass.
I figure Blago's bizarre speech is an attempt to set up a defense of diminished responsibility. "My client is clearly doolally so should not be convicted."
From everything I can figure, his comparing Ed Genson to Oliver Wendell Holmes was not the reason for the former's quitting. Genson seemed to cite the governor's not listening to him as the problem.
Ahahah, it's pretty weird living in Illinois. My school has a Unusual Matters club. You know, we interview alien abductees, learn about acupuncture, etc... we should just have these political clowns come it.
In the early days of the republic, Governors appointed Senators. But the constitution was amended to make Senators elected by popular vote. What is going on right now is that the conservatives claim that any action done (of course, only by Democrats-they allowed Bush to trample over the constitution) is anti-constitutional...they view the constitution as something that has to be followed in every pronouncement- and not as a living breathing road map to a democratic ideal.
But of course, more to the point, each state has it's own rules when it comes to appointed a temporary replacement to any position. It is according to State law.
You see, in the United States, there has always been a tremendous tension between the idea of a central government and the ideal of power residing the states.
We even fought a war about this, but many conservative commentators still feel the power of government should reside in state governments.
I understand that there's tension between the federal government and the state law, but having your local senator elected rather than appointed is in the interest of the states, not the feds. People really put up with their official representative being chosen by someone else? It's weird.
Yes, It is weird...But there are area's of tension between the federal and state government. Our founding fathers were very concerned about any one group of people having too much power...they really made a really great attempt to split up power between the three branches of the Federal Government, and then they were very concerned about individual states having their rights. You know, there is still an open discussion about a states right to seceed. That's crazy!
I have been a fan since she started on Air America and love that she is on MSNBC. I'm a proud "Civics Geek" and find politics both fascinating & frustrating. Rachel's way of delivering the roundup of what is happening in politics is unmatched. The fact that I laugh out loud at least once during every broadcast is one of the reasons I watch. Yet she also somehow gets to the serious point of a topic. This clip seemed to showcase both her sense of humor and intelligent way of discussing an issue.

@halflinks Way to make no sense whatsoever.
You know what, go and do some actual research. On the other hand, logic isn't likely to break through bigotry and irrational prejudice, now is it?
