Though i think they could have caricatured kerrigans emotions a little more. but still a killer cinematic.

when i played this mission, i did everything i could and just surrounded her with siege tanks, bunkers, turrets, battlecruiser, kitchen sinks.... but why would she have to get annihilated by the zerg? kudos to blizzard for the new flashback cinematic. it just makes me want to rip mengsk head off

Funny enough I was playing that mission a few days ago and I ending almost the exact same way. I had abandoned my bases to the Zerg and took all the units I had left to make the last strike against the Protoss. Eventually Kerrigan was the only one left. I was being followed by a bunch of zerg but I was still cloaked and shooting them off one by one praying that an overlord wouldn't find me. Right after I took out that last Protoss building the cloak ran out and the mission end just in time.

I remember playing that mission the first time... I got wrecked... 10 years later, I played it again... APM of 200, balance of macro/micro, 2nd hand ICCUP experience, there's no way that base could have gotten overrun.

I played this misson with cheats ( not hacking cheats, it's cheat that comes from the game) and made everything incvincible and get to continue playing, when i went to the misson ended i started nuking the zerglings and went up the ramp and realized that The AI was making hundreds of zergling coming off the creep.

@Hachimaro the drop ship doesn't have enough life support for a long trip also it has no weapons which to defend itself. The Battlecruisers are powerful but slow moving so they wouldn't be ideal cover. Plus the hive went active who to say it didn't spawn millions of multilisks to block of retreat after the fleet withdrew. and as for me I didn't have battlecruisers I had a base that cover the majority of the map before I nuked the last protoss building.

It was in one of the StarCraft novels. maybe mengsk maybe having some revenge issue going on. but whatever the reason, His revenge shouldn't have been that way. Mengsk must have said his reason to raynor, too.. oh, well, this story was made years after the original SC. awesome timing there. that did a plothole in my opinion.

When I first heard HER in Diablo 2 I was like LOL what a cheap "girl trying to act like Xena warrior Princess baddazz" and no metter how much I tried enjoing it all sounded lieka yeah "try harder ^_^". When I heard SAME voice in Starcraft I I thinked "OMG NO! Not HER as GHOST!!! NOOO!!", cause I liked Ghosts so much and she played like msot awesome one a Hero Ghost. Brr.

I believe I read somewhere that the entire story behind SC was that the zerg wanted to assimilate the protoss. the protoss are supposedly the only ones with enough power and technology advanced enough to stop the zerg, but if the swarm managed to take over them, the zerg's power would become unlimited. I don't remember how the Terrans got caught up in this.

the terrans have physicics, the zerg want them so they can break the protoss mind and conquer them, they don't have enough of their own psychic soldiers and therefore need to infest terran ones so they can defeat the protoss

zzz.. the overmind has always intended to assimilate the protoss as their one of the xel'nagas creation. kerrigan was infested because the overmind wanted her to kinda suceed it due to her stong psionic capabilities. She is made more important then celebrates.

if i am not wrong: zerg overmind wanted to make a zerg/human hybrid to use as a powerful tool against protoss since human are easier to infest. so they got kerrigan, but then, the overmind was destroyed. If a new overmind forms, kerrigan's mind will be under its control(like all zerg units). So she prevent the new overmind to be formed and claimed herself as Queen of the Blades. (like claim herself as the new "overmind" of zerg).

The Zerg lacked any sort of psionic powers, and felt that assimilating that into the swarm would aid in the fight against the Protoss. However, the Zerg cannot infest the Protoss, so they settled for a human.

Maybe Kerrigan was an especially strong psyker or something. Otherwise the zerg could have taken any old ghost.
