Dodge Ram Flowmaster Super 44(Sold)

That thing is a beast! A 10-year old truck in that great of shape in Maine is nothing shy of amazing! I've lived in Maine my whole life and never seen a truck at that year look THAT good! Whatever you're doing man, keep it up!

I've got a '99 Ram with a 5.9L. It has upgraded injectors, a CAI & a Vortec exhaust. I just bought a high flow Magnaflow catalytic converter with a Flowmaster Super 40 Delta muffler off ebay a few days ago. Definitely can't wait to throw those on!

Hey bud what size piping did you use 3" or 2 1/2" cause i put headers on my truck with no cats and 2 1/2" piping and some knock off flowmasters, truck sounds like shit, very raspy and poppy. Those high flow cats really took the raspy out of it?

I hate how there is one person on here that would take the ford over the dodge, no disrespect to fords at all the run pretty good but as a die hard dodge fan im willing to vouch for the mopar performance for many reasons, the powerstroke v8 could never in its life compare to the cummins turbo diesel and it has two less pistons, you find a ford that runs as good as a dodge, let me know because ive yet to find one that performs as well as my dodge.

As far as the parts, I bought them all from 21stcenturyexhaust. They have the cheapest prices on exhaust components that I know of, their number is 561-588-1580. The muffler cost about $70 shipped, the tips are about $50 shipped, and the cat is about $60 shipped. Installation always varies from shops, but look for a price under $300, otherwise your being ripped off.

No, I didn't have to change the transmission. Generally when you increase the size of your tires, it's smart to upgrade the gear ratio in the axles. The higher the gear ratio, the less wear direct wear you will have on the transmission. Fortunately this truck came stock with 4.10's, so the 35" tires weren't outrageous to have.

The 5.9L 360ci motor is a very raw and powerful motor, but it is terrible on fuel; especially with oversized tires. When I was running the 35" tires I got about 8-11mpg in the city. Even when I went back down to the stock 275 tires, I still only got about 11-12 in the city.

Yes, you can buy y -pipes online. Magnaflow and flowmaster both make them. Just buy one and have the exhaust shop run a pipe into it after the outlet and then they can split it off into two tailpipes from there.

Yep, just one Super 44 (single in/dual out). Personally, I prefer the single muffler systems. You don't loose any torque, and they sound a lot cleaner. I've messed around with true duals, and you just never know what your going to get, sometimes it starts to slap in the higher rpm's, or just doesn't sound as smooth. I think they are a waste of money, and don't provide any noticeable difference unless your getting into big time modifications in the motor.

Order your parts from 21stcentury exhaust, they have excellent prices. Their number is 1-800-276-6399. I would order a 3"inlet/2.5" dual outlet Flowmaster Super 44 muffler, a 3"inlet/outlet Universal Magnaflow Catalytic Converter, and two 4"x18" stainless steel slash cut exhaust tips. Then bring those parts to an exhaust shop, and have them install the system, and have it exit either under the bumper, or one tip behind each rear tire.

The magnaflow y-pipe should be about $70, the Flowmaster Super 44 around $65, and the two exhaust tips around $50.

Also, you will not need to buy the pipe on your own, the exhaust shop will supply all of their own piping, and include it in their price. Just bring them the parts, and tell them how you want it, and they will give you a quote from there. Expect anywhere from $225-400 depending on the shops.

You will run into a ton of different guys offering different prices,so take your time and call around to find the proper median. If you have somebody do a custom exhaust for you, buy your own parts; not only does this space the pricing out, you get exactly what you want.

My guess is probably not very good. It will most likely sound like a vehicle that is missing a muffler. I remember when we put a flowmaster super 44 on our 3.8L v6 windstar as a joke, and it sounded like ass. It just sounded like a van that had a worn out muffler. Personally, I think a 4 cylinder has a better sound than a v6. They make mufflers for v6s though, a super 44 just not being one of them.

really nice truck,i have a 2000 slt 3" suspension lift,360,but it needs a little tlc,front bumpers a lil rusty,passenger splash guard melted some from the manifold,the doors are a lil rusty just above the rocker panels(not to much tho),and the grills flaking it's chrome.otherwise you can't tell it isnt new.

The flowmaster super 44 is a muffler. I'm not sure if they offer any premade kits yet though. Generally speaking though, a custom bent exhaust is a better route. Buy the muffler independently, then have an exhaust shop build you an exhaust to your liking with the muffler of your choice.

The 44 is unique in the sense that it has a signature crackle to it. I really liked it. But after I had the headers installed and the cat gutted, it started to crack a little too much. Before the headers were on, I though it sounded one in a million and was different than any other flowmaster.

Well that's on my brothers Ford F-350. It gets about 6-8mpg city, and 9-10 on the highway. It's pretty disgusting, but man is that truck something else. It makes up for it in power anyway.
