@retsevlis I think Wayne Shorter was the best sax he played with, but Joe Henderson was the best as his partner since he complimented him, rather than almost outplayed him like Wayne did. Notice how I said almost, no one could outplay Lee.
@sinisterniik too bad billy higgins died of liver disease they gave him a liver transplant but he ruined his new liver with more drug abuse so he was ineligable for another one the designer of blue note album covers reid hyams had a studio so big he had a 1938 rolls royce in it
There are so many. Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Thelonius Monk, Kenny Burrel, Art Tatum, Oscar Peterson, Tal Farlow, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, MIles Davis, Medeski Martin & Wood, Stan Getz, NIna Simone, Pat Metheny, ...this is a short list..there are a few guitarists I am forgetting...
@umkalzum No not at all.. He takes that instrument and creates a very distinguishable sound. It also has a lot to do with the era...which is classic and such a treat to listen to.

An exquisite performance. The man exercises complete control of the funk in his horn.

Wow, fantastic job by Ronnie Matthews on piano, who I've seen plenty of times in NYC.
And all this time I thought it was someone else, who will remain nameless, but whose initials are HH.
