Anyone who disliked this clearly didn't realise how much work went into making it happen in inception: they lidar scanned about four blocks of paris and created custom software for this effect alone. and this guy just did it himself somehow, more or less. Kudos, magician... Anyone interested could check out the essay 'in your dreams' by barbara roberts

How did u make the glass gravity thing? Is that also in after effects or cinema 4D?

@the5ilverb0y That was done by duct taping the camera and everything else to the table, tilting the table so only the water would tilt, and then replacing the background with a still image of the wall.

Why is everyone complaining about the acting, when this video is to show the special effects. I think he did a pretty good job. The people that are into filming know the amount of work and effort needed just to get this little scene to where it is. Good Job!

Well if your doing in it in After effects 7.0, you shouldn't have been surprised that it took that long to render. But very nice job, it's almost impossible to make those effects look real unless it's done totally professionally. It was very well made though!

the glass trick is done but sticking the glass to a table. using some kind of background like card fastened to the back off the table and that camera is fastened as well. so when the table is tilted, only the water tilts and the camera looks like the room stays still.

hey i have a guess on how you did it the video. the part of the city that bent was a separate picture which you made the anchor point of at the bottom. You changed it to a 3d layer then simply rotated it. You of course green screened yourself in. For the glass part i would guess some type of liquidify or puppet tool noticeable by a little warping at 0:53. Please tell me if I'm right, thanks

@drcool41 yeah pretty close! I cropped out the sky and replaced it with a 3D city, which I created by attaching separate 3D layers together to make buildings. And I did greenscreen myself in because all of the city footage behind me was just pictures I took a while back and tried to make em look like video. The glass at the end I actually duct taped the camera, glass and lamp to the table and tilted the entire table, then replaced the background with an still image of the wall behind it
