Whenever I watch this, I wish that Maestro Morricone could see (and hear) it. With all due respect to the scene in "The Untouchables" I borrowed his music from, it's in a far better place here with Seabiscuit, and this real-life epic. Thanks for your comment.

I believe War Admiral was the 4-1 favorite to win this race. I suspect it had something to do with that. But I love it that George Woolf did that.

Ennio Morricone's music, written decades later, seems almost a sublime reincarnation of this heroic moment in 1938. I had the dumb luck to bring them together. I still get chills watching this, well into the hundreds of viewings. Thanks for commenting.
