  • its the way he achieves those wins that makes him special. super star biscuit. it gives me the shivers to think what he would have accomplished if biscuit had received proper training and care right from the start......

  • the best horses in history are Italian.

RIBOT, gallop. 16 races, the most important in the world. 16 wins, 100% of wins, record speed.

VARENNE trot. 73 races, 62 wins, 9 placings. Record Speed. Seabiscuit 83 races 33 wins. To be the best horse you have to run more races in the world. Italy, France, Germany, Sweden and beat horses of the Queen of England. We have respect for Seabiscuit, but it'S just the best horse of the united states

  • brilliant thanks for posting Cosmo

  • Whenever I watch this, I wish that Maestro Morricone could see (and hear) it. With all due respect to the scene in "The Untouchables" I borrowed his music from, it's in a far better place here with Seabiscuit, and this real-life epic. Thanks for your comment.

  • unforgetable

  • Great video!! No matter how many times I see this race on video, I tear up. Seabiscuit was just an ordinary-looking smallish horse. But what a champion. Thanks so much for sharing this video.

  • You're welcome. Thanks for the post!

  • Ohh man ... awesome .... this one was even better ..... thanks for the wonderful post !!

  • Its all about heroes: a great horse, and Morricone's great music. Glad you liked it.

  • i read the book and cried. i've been fascinated with seabiscuit ever since. i finally got to see the race! thank you so much.

  • Haha, wonder what the jocky of Seabiscuit was shouting towards the jocky of War Admiral in the end.'up yours'?

  • I believe War Admiral was the 4-1 favorite to win this race. I suspect it had something to do with that. But I love it that George Woolf did that.

  • I get chills everytime i see this.

  • That was absolutely fabulous! Thanks for posting that vid.

  • Ennio Morricone's music, written decades later, seems almost a sublime reincarnation of this heroic moment in 1938. I had the dumb luck to bring them together. I still get chills watching this, well into the hundreds of viewings. Thanks for commenting.

  • seabiscuit was one hell of a horse. iv just finished reading the book of his life, and it was excellent.thank u so much for putting this up iv always wanted to see the origional race

  • You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • classic,, thank u for posting

  • Glad you liked it. (You're the first person to comment on any of my postings, so I'm very pleased to have gotten a positive response!)

  • This is good.

  • Thanks. The music track by Ennio Morricone was so much better than the scene where it was used in The Untouchables, IMHO, I thought it better suited to this epic match race.

  • Music is perfect and timed perfectly.
