watched this movie in 7th grade. Im on in 9th but in all my years of school i loved this movie, the outsiders, and perfect harmony. if any of you guys have never watched the other two, i suggest you do! they are great movies!

Can you imagine that I was first introduced to this movie in the Elementary? I remembered watching 1/4 of the movie and the kids were so not into it that we didn't continue watching for the next few days. 5 months ago my friend borrowed me the film. Yeah, 1/4 of the movie scenes looked so familiar. But at the end, I cried like I never cried before. You will feel a connection with the movie as the topic it talks about is close to our hearts (in my opinion)

Poetry, romance, love -- these are what we stay alive for. And that, my fellow youtubers, was the real message of this movie. Plus a commentary on the total failure of our current systems of education and social structures. So I have to disagree with those who say this is a bad trailer. The movie is not mostly about the students or the teacher. The movie is about the great late dead poets.

Is it a weird thing that I didn't care for Robin Williams at all in this movie? The acting of the boys is seems way better (especially Robert Sean Leonard and Ethan Hawke), and their storylines are much more interesting in my opinion. I know that Robin Williams is the keyperson in this movie, but still. Anyways, this is one of my alltime fav movies! <3

Trailer sums up Robin Williams' performance quite well but ignores the accomplishment of all the young actors.

I suppose the movie sold better with Robin Williams than it did with the idea of a fresh setting with a lot of room for human drama.
