It really sucks to hear people bash on artists like Rusko, Caspa, Burial, Skream and Benga, the originators of modern dubstep/post UK garage, because it isn't skrillex-y enough. Skrillex just grabbed the wrong crowd. He himself is doing what he loves, which I have mad respect for. It looks like he had no career at all before this. He dedicated his life to his love of music. I just hate hearing dubstep thrown around a lot now like it "just started with skrillex". Which is totally not okay.

I honestly don't have a problem with Skrillex. Regardless of how retardo his brostep is, there is no getting past how complex and melodic his tunes are. The thing was that dubstep was a underground genre enjoyed by only the truest of bass lovers. Now it's got all this attraction of emo's and posers who are just in it for skrillex, not dubstep as a whole. Dubstep has evolved but it grabbed the "pop culture" crowd. Those who listen to the likes of Lady Gaga and Ke$ha. That is my only argument.
