Yes, the 60's over, and the Civil Rights Act exists, yet black unemployment is still 10% higher, average wages aren't high enough to be satisifed or happy, less likely to get certain jobs and promotions, and still get disproportionately harassed by police. She is hilarious at times, but hard to see when you are not in the right frame of mind.

Minor quibble, and probably touched upon downthread in the comments: Cleopatra's ancestors weren't African. The Ptolemys were Macedonian Greek (and quite xenophobic), and J.A. Rogers was an idiot. Seriously, why would Nubians claim an inbred Greek chick?
Also, in the case of Gyllenhaal, I have an Iranian (Persian - Farsi speaking) friend that could pass for dude's twin. A much more egregious casting choice would be the oldest brother in that movie.
Dumas is spot on though. Last Airbender too.

1. Black actor I’d like to see try it: Morgan Freeman. The effort would be the best comedy.
2. Black actor who would use his influence to get the role, then profoundly screw it up: Will Smith. He's typecast for a reason.

It feeds the perception and perception is a tool that the Ego uses to confuse the mind; scatter the natural thought process. I never saw that Oprah show, or for that fact, more than 3 episodes of her entire series. The concepts of good and bad are nonexistent; irrelevant. Damaged and intellectually intact are concepts that have a more relevant application towards people in general.

By the way you can always visit Israel, if am not mistaken no Visa needed for US citizens. I always suspected my English is not so good as i pretend. Its better than the average Israeli but still needs improvement.

I agree. The media is still more than 95% white. Hollywood still don't take black actresses silly. In fact, even when affirmative action was 1st implemented by President John F. Nixon back in the 1960s it was half-hearted at best, & the policies really only applied to government agencies & private agencies that contract with the government.
Maybe this young lady made this vid as an attempt to be funny, smart, and contrarian...but it comes off as a flat out fail.

Their history has been tragic and yet they didn't get ahead throughout history by trying to game the system. They relied on the right values.
