Love this movie! I just finished watching Dear John and it made me think of this exact movie (and I cried in both!) I'm a sucker for these kinds of movie because I love a good fairy tale romance!!:)
it actually seriously depresses me comparing the era this film was set in, to modern day, it's completely changed and it's really upsetting, i'm only 14 but i would honestly give anything to have been born in the 1920's
i hate todays society and world.
everybody was so innocent back then and today it's drugs, sex and alcohol, i really hate it.
@mrspineapple13 Sometimes people idealize eras WAY too much. Sure the 20's were cool, but don't think there weren't any drugs, sex and alcohol. Also, I wouldn't call people innocent either...everyone always seems to forget about Jim Crow and the KKK. I love period films, but what they never show you are the horrible aspects of it. Personally, I'd prefer to live right here and now.

I assure you that medicine back then was not very exact back then and it wouldn't be a pleasant experience. The average life span was only about 56. I get what you mean about the feeling of back then, but people take the present for granted, and back then life was only really good for the rich.

I just saw this movie on the plane and after 14 hours in the air i was bagging to fly a bit more so I could finish this movie... wow, took my breath away... Also watched "Water for Elephants" just a s good if you haven't seen it...

I hate Allie. It's not really her fault because she never got the letters, but I hate the fact that she always had a man and Noah was left for years with nobody. Then she gets such a devoted husband, even when in sickness, he reads her the story everyday. It makes me sick. This movie is painful to watch

By telling the story Noah (aka Duke) tried to make Alie remember their whole life. If he and the character in the book had the same name, wouldn't that be weird to a person who has Alzheimer? Definitively not a good start. Just think about it.

God, how I love this movie. Packed with fury and passion, fast holding to a memorable past. Unbelievably idealistic and courageous.

this movie always gets me. i always cry because it is so sweet and romantic that they got together so young and found each other then found each other again and died together i find taht sort of love so overwhelming!! <3

i've heard of this movie =D people at school were talking about it the other day except i thought they were talking about a different movie called Death Note and when they asked me what i thought of the movie i said "oh i love that moive except the devil is pretty scary and whats his obsession with apples? O.o" everyone looked at me like w.t.f. are you talking about? lol i'll never make that mistake again XD anyways i wanna watch the movie it looks good =D very romantic ^^
