Once Acura/Honda brings back the NSX (and hopefully doesn't look like the concepts, ugly) it'll be like the GTR, new benchmark. Than shortly after, Toyota will re-release their Supra and yet again kick some ass. I feel that they are saving those icons, release them to get peoples minds mindset off the American/European cars. The GTR accomplished this. Can't Imagine a new NSX and Supra. Ouch!
just a random question, how fast are these cars going around thsoe turns? if you got a civic and sent it around those bends at that speed, would it flip and go off the tracks? how bout a 350z?
stock civic? most definitely flip... properly tuned civic? it should rival those speeds, but it would be extremely hard for it to match it... same thing as a 350z... stock it wouldnt stand a chance trying to corner at those speeds... but properly tuned, it should be able to match it or even exceed it...

yeah yeah yeah. I could believe the NSX has better handling. But Honda had to compromise their design with a more exotic/super car platform, with its lower wider stance in order to compete with the Nissan's more-daily-driver design.
ofcourse it looks dated compared to the GTR. the NSX chassis is around 20yrs old (the first NSX came out in 1992). put that into consideration and i honestly think the "old" NSX more than held it's own against the newer more powerful GTR. peace. :)
@morphineisgod your comparing an 11 year old car that looks still superb, today...
i seriously doubt the R35 could age as well, people will remember it for its speed, not its looks, if theres a list sexiest cars, the R34 would easily beat it...in fact ask any gtr fan and theyd say the R34 looks more badass than the R35...
a turbo is pretty major... pushing out over 400hp compared to its stock 280hp and the spoon guy did say that it had a spoon suspension set up so i wouldnt call it tweaks...
@lethal1 Not refering to the spoon NSX. I mean in its evolution from 1990 to when ever it was discontinued. where as the Skyline recieved a completely new plat form and engine. plus wind tunnel testing and more software in stock form.
oh i see... my bad... but the newer nsx does have a better suspension set up and it comes with wider tires making it handle alot better... i wanna see honda say fuck the regulations and come out with a turbo charged/huge horsepower, cornering machine as a true super car... the nsx does have a super car status but its powered by a eco friendly under powered v6... it out corners most super cars on the market but really lacks straight away acceleration...
it is still a 120+ hp gain from stock... adding 100+ hp to any car is pretty major... and besides, this car was built to handle and not just for raw power...
@lethal1 well when you compare that 400hp nsx to the lovefab 1000hp nsx it doesnt look very major at all and when you compare the mines 500hp gtr to the ams 1000hp gtr it doesnt look very big
those two cars were built with their emphasis based more on raw power rather than a well balanced cornering machine... they now have the power to compete with higher powered supercars but i doubt all that power is much of a use on a track with lots of corners... but they are bad asses on the straights though
Two turbos, a computer controlled twin clutch transmission, and computer controlled all wheel drive. I should certainly hope the GTR can beat a 20 year old Honda. Is it that impressive?
@ivorysoap Well apart from the fact that 20 year old honda is far superior to any current production honda shouldn't be. But since the NSX is the single best production honda then yes it is impressive. The s2000 doesn't even come close. So don't bother bringing that up.
I openly hate Honda's, especially the over-done Civics/Preludes with the rice exhaust and VTEC. But The NSX would be the ONLY Honda I would drive that I might actually like.
@burey1979 NSX weak and pathetic? man.... u are the only pathetic here. u know nothing about cars if u say that. NSX was built in the 90's and still can handle this GTR, after 20 years of development.
Is it just me or did it look like the GTR is holding back a lot? And all this talk about the NSX handling better...lol It's because it weighs half of what the GTR does.
The induction pod costs 15,000 USD. You could buy a Honda Fit with that kind of money. LOL In any case the NSX's initial turn sequence is so much smoother than the GTR. I guess mid mounted engine is hard to beat. Hard to believe that the car is so old.....
i would not believe with want might be 900-1000 lbs difference gtr still handled him so well in the corners. anyone know what kind of power that nsx is putting out?
as much as you can keep adding electronic trickery, you can't argue with physics. that NSX would be several hundred kilos lighter, and in a race situation it's not going to wear out tyres or brakes as fast. it's a worrying trend that cars seem to keep getting heavier and heavier; this NSX is basically an updated version of a car releases in like 1990 and it shows, it'd be like 1200kilos.
@ARMONI555 If these were the stock cars, hell yeah the ZR1 would wipe them out no problem! But seeing as how these are moddified, I'm not too sure. Throw in a Hennessey Corvette or Camaro(both available with upto 1000hp) and its gonna be Bye-bye Nissan and Honda.
What was the point of this video? NSX has been a piece of crap car for the past 10 years getting smoked by Subaru's and Evos.... whats the point? A Honda Civic could out preform that piece of waste....
Honda....... Win a Le Mans... or something respectable... then come back....... if not just keep selling Acuras to idiots, Sort of like Toyota selling Lexus brand to idiots... Good margins there.sheit... atleast when Nissan pops out a super car they do it right and under the original brand.
What was the point of this video? NSX has been a piece of crap car for the past 10 years getting smoked by Subaru's and Evos.... whats the point? A Honda Civic could out preform that piece of waste....
The NSX Type R is the nicest Japanese car ever made; I mean the RX7 spirit R, 22B STI, and NISMO Z tune R34 GTR are up to parr but I mean.........look at the NSX
if honda breings out ther v8 and puts it in the new nsx. man that car will be so fast like cars that cost over $500,000. but they should put the engin in the back like all ways, and i would defunitlly try to buy it if its in my price range
Having been past by many a GT-R, on many different tracks, I can say that the GT-R is much more at home on faster courses---big Willow as apposed to Streets--where they basically outperform everything DOT and beyond.
@cmd223 NSX actually takes skill to drive unlike the GT-R. Even the driver of the GT-R said that the GT-R "helped" you drive. The new GT-R is the only try hard that I see here.
@wiiboy456 Taking skill to drive doesn't neccessarily equate to winning races. All it equates to is an increased tendency to crash and cause harm. Ask anyone around the globe and they'll tell you the same story regarding the NSX.... a laughable, Ferrari wannabe that has never been considered worthy of holding a supercar title, despite wanting to pose like one.
@cmd223 Okay then, I'll ask myself... Is the NSX a wannabe supercar? No, it doesn't fell like that at all considering I'VE DRIVEN ONE SEVERAL TIMES. My brother owns a '91 Berlina Black/Ivory NSX and like I said, I've driven more than once. Ever heard of the Tail of the Dragon/US129 in Tennessee? Yeah, try driving that in the NSX. It's no joyride. We chase an F355 Challenge up it while they were having Ferrari Day there. He never got more than about 10 feet away from us.
@wiiboy456 Lol, don't talk Hondas to me. Here's a question for you and your try hard Honda fan boys.... why is it that nearly every Honda I see out there is FWD, yet only two of their most expensive models are made to be RWD? Such customer loyalty there lol.
As for driving the NSX... why would I want to waste my time with an outdated piece of wanabe junk like that?
@cmd223 I can talk Hondas if I wanna talk Hondas, lol. You think the S2K is expensive? lol. I guess $9k is a bit expensive for 15 year old kids isn't it? And how does drivetrain pertain to customer loyalty?? Your argument is invalid.
As for outdated, i think most of the people on here agree that the NSX will always live on to be Japan's number 1 super car. Your thought process is even like a little kids... Old=bad? Try telling that to all of the Hakosuka and Hachiroku owners.
@wiiboy456 Lol not surprising those crappy Hondas are so quick to devalue in price. Gee, I really do wonder now how many Hondas apart from the NSX would cost more than an S2000 when "new" - looks like these Honda fanboys can't seem to comprehend simple logic or English. And how does drivetrain pertain to customer loyalty he says? Here, let me help you.... manufacturers choose to make FWD specificallly for cost cutting purposes. Any imbecile would know that, well except for Honda fanboys it seems
@cmd223 First off, I'm not a Honda fanboy... I drive a WRX. Honda makes FWD cars that are lighter for better fuel economy... ever thought of that? Not everyone who buys a car is looking for a performance vehicle. In fact, they're maintaining customer loyalty by making what the customers want: a cost effective fuel saver. Then, they make a smaller amount of their performance vehicles for the even smaller crowd that buys them. You have no understanding of the modern economy, lol.
@wiiboy456 I'm sure many people would prefer to steer with the front wheels and drive with the rears if they had any basic understanding of cars. Ever thought how much a propella shaft weighs? or how ridiculous it is to make a FWD sports car? You my friend have no understanding of cars, just like the many masses who fall for the Honda hype.
@cmd223 Okay, if a driveshaft weighs so much, why is the Civic one of the lightest cars you'll find? Isn't it FWD? The problem is, the mainstream car audience doesn't understand cars, therefore, they don't care what they drive. This puts a gap between nobs like you that think they know everything, and the ppl that do know everything. No, there aren't many FWD sports cars due to the ridiculous amount of oversteer they generate, not due to the fact that they're heavy, which they aren't.
@cmd223 You have conceded, lol... figures. I didn't have to explain myself at all anyways. Ayrton Senna said it was one of the best cars he had ever driven.
Well if it wasn't for this car, the worlds best (IMO) Supercar would have never been created. Gordan Murray (McLaren F1 & SLR McLaren) himself said that if it wasn't for him driving an NSX he would've never been able to come up with the McLaren F1. In fact, in Gordans own words he states that the drivers feel was based on the NSX. Hell he still owns one. And Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) said it had technology other supercars never had until this car came out and it was ahead of its time.
@jaydeath1887 Has it ever occured to you that Gordon Murray was told to say that due to the Maclaren-Honda F1 partnership in the 80s? The Mitsubishi GTO had technology other cars didn't have... but did that make it any good on the track?
I like Honda NSX......better sound, better look, and quiet similar preformances like Nissan.........Nissan has onld better TOP SPEED,and acceleration but everything else is bad.........HONDA RULES
NSX is such a great car. Porsche is still the best, but I love the NSX. The GTR is too computerized and seems like it's too much of an imitation to beat everything else. The NSX was more PURE.
@omid11 I agree with that statement, I think an NSX demands more focus and attention to so many minor details, referring to drivetrain and grip versus the R35. In the R35 it just looks easier to drive.

R32GTR and NSX have the history which has updated the fastest lap of a general vehicle by Nurburgring 20 years ago.
It is the following record.
1989 Nissan R32GTR 8 minutes and 22 seconds
1990 Honda NSX 8 minutes and 16 seconds
1991 Porsche 911(964) turbo 8 minutes and 08 seconds.
It was recorded by test driver Mr.Motoharu Kurosawa of the Bridgestone tire who was doing the development test by Nurburgring those days.

Honda....... Win a Le Mans... or something respectable... then come back....... if not just keep selling Acuras to idiots, Sort of like Toyota selling Lexus brand to idiots... Good margins there.sheit... atleast when Nissan pops out a super car they do it right and under the original brand.

NSX is a try hard car. V6, natural aspirated ppffft, something's got to give there.
cmd223 6 months ago
@cmd223 NSX actually takes skill to drive unlike the GT-R. Even the driver of the GT-R said that the GT-R "helped" you drive. The new GT-R is the only try hard that I see here.
wiiboy456 6 months ago
@wiiboy456 Taking skill to drive doesn't neccessarily equate to winning races. All it equates to is an increased tendency to crash and cause harm. Ask anyone around the globe and they'll tell you the same story regarding the NSX.... a laughable, Ferrari wannabe that has never been considered worthy of holding a supercar title, despite wanting to pose like one.
cmd223 6 months ago
@cmd223 Okay then, I'll ask myself... Is the NSX a wannabe supercar? No, it doesn't fell like that at all considering I'VE DRIVEN ONE SEVERAL TIMES. My brother owns a '91 Berlina Black/Ivory NSX and like I said, I've driven more than once. Ever heard of the Tail of the Dragon/US129 in Tennessee? Yeah, try driving that in the NSX. It's no joyride. We chase an F355 Challenge up it while they were having Ferrari Day there. He never got more than about 10 feet away from us.
wiiboy456 6 months ago
@wiiboy456 Lol, don't talk Hondas to me. Here's a question for you and your try hard Honda fan boys.... why is it that nearly every Honda I see out there is FWD, yet only two of their most expensive models are made to be RWD? Such customer loyalty there lol.
As for driving the NSX... why would I want to waste my time with an outdated piece of wanabe junk like that?
cmd223 6 months ago
@cmd223 I can talk Hondas if I wanna talk Hondas, lol. You think the S2K is expensive? lol. I guess $9k is a bit expensive for 15 year old kids isn't it? And how does drivetrain pertain to customer loyalty?? Your argument is invalid.
As for outdated, i think most of the people on here agree that the NSX will always live on to be Japan's number 1 super car. Your thought process is even like a little kids... Old=bad? Try telling that to all of the Hakosuka and Hachiroku owners.
wiiboy456 6 months ago
@wiiboy456 Lol not surprising those crappy Hondas are so quick to devalue in price. Gee, I really do wonder now how many Hondas apart from the NSX would cost more than an S2000 when "new" - looks like these Honda fanboys can't seem to comprehend simple logic or English. And how does drivetrain pertain to customer loyalty he says? Here, let me help you.... manufacturers choose to make FWD specificallly for cost cutting purposes. Any imbecile would know that, well except for Honda fanboys it seems
cmd223 6 months ago
@cmd223 First off, I'm not a Honda fanboy... I drive a WRX. Honda makes FWD cars that are lighter for better fuel economy... ever thought of that? Not everyone who buys a car is looking for a performance vehicle. In fact, they're maintaining customer loyalty by making what the customers want: a cost effective fuel saver. Then, they make a smaller amount of their performance vehicles for the even smaller crowd that buys them. You have no understanding of the modern economy, lol.
wiiboy456 6 months ago
@wiiboy456 I'm sure many people would prefer to steer with the front wheels and drive with the rears if they had any basic understanding of cars. Ever thought how much a propella shaft weighs? or how ridiculous it is to make a FWD sports car? You my friend have no understanding of cars, just like the many masses who fall for the Honda hype.
cmd223 6 months ago
@cmd223 Okay, if a driveshaft weighs so much, why is the Civic one of the lightest cars you'll find? Isn't it FWD? The problem is, the mainstream car audience doesn't understand cars, therefore, they don't care what they drive. This puts a gap between nobs like you that think they know everything, and the ppl that do know everything. No, there aren't many FWD sports cars due to the ridiculous amount of oversteer they generate, not due to the fact that they're heavy, which they aren't.
wiiboy456 6 months ago
@wiiboy456 LOL, I'm not going to bother anymore.
cmd223 6 months ago
@cmd223 You have conceded, lol... figures. I didn't have to explain myself at all anyways. Ayrton Senna said it was one of the best cars he had ever driven.
wiiboy456 6 months ago
@cmd223 ^^^ understeer in that last sentence... it's late and i made a typo.
wiiboy456 6 months ago
@cmd223 that outdated peaice of junk is faster than whatever shit yuo can buy or drive. its known to be one of the best cars ever made.
redsoxfan7111 6 months ago
@redsoxfan7111 It is known to be a wanabe tryhard poser car, aimed at tricking dumbasses like you into believing that it isn't.
cmd223 6 months ago
@cmd223
And Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear) said it had technology other supercars never had until this car came out and it was ahead of its time.
jaydeath1887 6 months ago
@jaydeath1887 Has it ever occured to you that Gordon Murray was told to say that due to the Maclaren-Honda F1 partnership in the 80s? The Mitsubishi GTO had technology other cars didn't have... but did that make it any good on the track?

NSX is such a great car. Porsche is still the best, but I love the NSX. The GTR is too computerized and seems like it's too much of an imitation to beat everything else. The NSX was more PURE.

not hating on r35 but i think the nsx is a more driver focused car
omid11 7 months ago 49
@omid11 I agree with that statement, I think an NSX demands more focus and attention to so many minor details, referring to drivetrain and grip versus the R35. In the R35 it just looks easier to drive.
