Just bought a Linksys E1500... My home network is fairly simple... 5 PC's via LAN ( I also have a Belkin Switch) and 2 Wireless computers...and a tablet... How well will this router serve everything I am doing? I understand the E1500 is a great general purpose wireless N. I got it from NewEgg as a refurbished for 30 bucks... Good deal?
Can you connect to the internet (during setup) and come back later and connect to internet tv, wii, etc. or do you have to do it during initial setup?
@SummerWizz1 ..... Im fairly sure the maximum cable length for CAT5 / CAT6 is 100m. Anything further you should use fibre optic cables - and in that case you can probably afford something better than this "little shit device" anyway :-/
Hello I just bought this router I set it up and I am able to connect to it. The router doesn't receive an IP address from the modem. But the internet light on the router is burning. I hope you can help me out.
@tjortiz7 You're my hero. I was going to say the exact same thing. Also lol'd at the suggestion that such a small device couldn't possibly deal with all the.... routing... that he'd be doing.
i have a phone moden that acts as my internet modem as well
but its doesnt have gigabit
only 10/100mbps
the e2000 has gigabit right
so heres my question how can the e2000 receive 1000mbps and send it to my computer and other stuff when my modem only delivers 100mbps
would i have to buy a modem that has gigabit for it to work or can the linksys just receive the 1000mbps to my computer and other stuff plugged in to it
@SummerWizz1 Can you tell me about its range? My distance from the router will 40 metres. but there are two walls between the router and my pc. will it suffice my needs? please reply....
you said you had one pc connected to it but when you showed the back looked like all the ports were used? this is one of my top 3 choices for wireless routers and im planning to buy so i look forword to your wifi vid in the next week or so :D
I got it but it tells me to get an easy key? I turned my belkin back on

Neat, my only problem with Linksys routers are their interfaces, Too simple, Netgear has more options on what you can do. still cool video though.

Why would you want a 200 meter cable? That's hurting your connection, not helping it.
NateDawg80126 5 months ago
@NateDawg80126 Maybe because the computer is 200M away and can not be brought closer. And the packet loss rate wouldn't be THAT terrible.
