The Wii is just super picky about drawings I think. This video helped me tons. You do rock ya know that right? I only hadseven ink pots and it was a total drag but I got it.

For me, the path was fairly intuitive - I more had trouble with ink management. I wasted so much on redirecting the girl and misread techs, then I'd have to wait for the recharge while she inevitably ran into spikes.
Also, just wanted to say, use the gale tech right as the girl lands in the bottom area to put her on the digging spot :)

This was very informative, and a great step by step. My issue was the fucking water spouts! I could make Kaguya soar on the damn thing, but I was always left behind. SO, with a little trickery, I skipped the first spout entirely by merely jumping ahead to the rock where the spout would have put me, and used the galestorm to whoosh her across. Saved time. For the second one, I made sure she fell in, shot her bitch ass up, then double wall jumped up my own. Hope this helps for the handicapped.

@misosaltee I am playing it on a wii and it has nearly wrecked my right wrist. I still run out of time. It must be so much easier on the playstation 3. I have had to stop the game because I can't proceed any further.
Inkfinity stone is also a good strategy for those who don't have a lot of ink pots/golden ink pot.
On a new game with 7 ink pots, I managed to finish this challenge with almost 3 minutes on the timer. New game+ & the holy artifacts make everything easier of course :)
This part is completely impossible for me on WII. %90 of the time i do the water spout or gale storm, they simply do not work no matter how consistently or accuratly I draw them. This part is completely broken on Wii and is only passable with a ton of luck and patience.

I had the same problem. What version do you have PS2 or Wii? Mine was wii. It took me an hour and a half because of these, either that or the power slashes woldn't work the first time.
The digging mini-game in Okami conflicts with my philosophy that a game should be fun and relaxing. This mini-game is neither. It's stressfull. Don't get me wrong. I love Okami. I hope to see a sequel, but preferrably one without the digging games. Okami stands perfectly on it's own without mini-games.
I hate the waterspout!!! I was doing this the right way the first time and the waterspout doesn't get her up there for some reason Augh!! ........guess I"ll keep trying.
Why is this bloody mini-game necessary to continue? Its virtually impossible on the wii. I have spent days trying and I have now given up. Its a real shame as I loved this game but....aaaaaargh
1. Don't bother with slice, down, left, down to get the time bud. Go slice, down, down. right. down , down....left to get across towards the waterspout at 1.27 in the video above. DO NOT break the block above the waterspout.
...Jump onto the black block second from the left, break the sandy block and then blow Kaguya across- missing out the bloody waterspout altogether. The rest of the game is as it is in the video above. The remaining waterspout is still a pain but if you stand to the left of it , on the same level as it, this seems to help. You can also use the Z key trick to make sure that the line you draw is straight and not all wobbly. Don't forget to help Kaguya dig at the end. You should have about 20 secs.
You should be able to have a bigger number of them after completing the game and starting again. You get to keep the ink pots you had in your last file.
You can do the entire digging game without the golden ink pot, but you NEED to upgrade your ink capacity whenever possible with the praise you collect.

Digging games, I think, are CRAP anyway cos they're just so damn frustrating to beat! But when you add the fact that I was expecting more development on the Kaguya plotline, it REALLY pissed me off to find that there was nothing more to 'helping' her than that damn digging game! After a while that music also makes you wanna cry in exasperation.
Gah my sister has tried this minigame so many times and just when we think she's making good time, the wind blows Kaguya the wrong way and then we end up running out of time cuz that eats up like 20 seconds.
I can't do this level. For some reason when I try drawing (wii version) the paintbrush flashes back and forth and if a try drawing it'll stutter and make these long lines. If I make the water thing perfectly it never goes up, and same goes for the wind. I'm constantly running low on ink too.
Oh yeah! Plus, I have the Wii version! The Wii is soooo easy to use! Patience is the key, and not throwing the wiimotes across the room..... (xXDeadlySynnerXx) Don't matter tho....I almost broke a window with one of mine ^.^' heh heh.....

At the first spring fountain, instead of going down and into the fountain, try to make her pass over with the wind brush technique, its shorter. You dont need to use the first fountain at all

Dear God, this game made me hate Kaguya, in between the noises she would make when she walked into spiked walls an' her plodding friggin gait. I was doing a goddamn jig when the bitch finally flew off into the great unknown.

So, i hear Okami is very difficult on wii? I use PS2, So its way different than wii. BUT YES i play wii every day haha just not Okami cause I like the ps2 version better. But it would be awesome when you use your Celestial brush cause it's just like painting with a real brush right?
hehe! yeah i don't know how it is on PS2 but on the Wii it is so freakin hard. and the drawing can get annoying cause if you don't do it EXACTLY right it will mess up. i yell at that thing so much it aint even funny....
For ps2 you just hold R1 and move the analog stick, which is really easy. And, its a little slower than the wii to draw, but it works a hell of a lot better. n_n
Stuck? Well all you have to do is run around before you press the button to start it, so that you run as fast as you can(when you see yellow grass) then RIGHT as the moment you touch the button to start the race, use the PAUSE move, and keep using it when you think he's catching up to you. :D

The geyser controls suck, period. I'm doing this for the PS2, it's my fourth run, and on my last one I spent at least a minute and a half trying to get the geyser to work with no luck at all.
To get a geyser to work you just have to draw a very VERY short line upwards from the water once the blue smoke appears. Doesn't have to be very long.

Gah. It has everything I figured out for myself except how to fix the glitch on mine where the wind ALWAYS blows RIGHT. It just won't go left. -_- No matter how I draw it.

I had the same problem. What version do you have PS2 or Wii? Mine was wii. It took me an hour and a half because of these, either that or the power slashes woldn't work the first time.

The digging mini-game in Okami conflicts with my philosophy that a game should be fun and relaxing. This mini-game is neither. It's stressfull. Don't get me wrong. I love Okami. I hope to see a sequel, but preferrably one without the digging games. Okami stands perfectly on it's own without mini-games.

I hate the waterspout!!! I was doing this the right way the first time and the waterspout doesn't get her up there for some reason Augh!! ........guess I"ll keep trying.

The key to the waterspout is to draw just a tiny line from the water (blue smoke) upwards. That's all you need to get it to work.

Why is this bloody mini-game necessary to continue? Its virtually impossible on the wii. I have spent days trying and I have now given up. Its a real shame as I loved this game but....aaaaaargh

Whoohoo....done it finally.
1. Don't bother with slice, down, left, down to get the time bud. Go slice, down, down. right. down , down....left to get across towards the waterspout at 1.27 in the video above. DO NOT break the block above the waterspout.

...Jump onto the black block second from the left, break the sandy block and then blow Kaguya across- missing out the bloody waterspout altogether. The rest of the game is as it is in the video above. The remaining waterspout is still a pain but if you stand to the left of it , on the same level as it, this seems to help. You can also use the Z key trick to make sure that the line you draw is straight and not all wobbly. Don't forget to help Kaguya dig at the end. You should have about 20 secs.

You should be able to have a bigger number of them after completing the game and starting again. You get to keep the ink pots you had in your last file.

You can do the entire digging game without the golden ink pot, but you NEED to upgrade your ink capacity whenever possible with the praise you collect.

Just a tiny line upwards from the water (make sure you get the blue smoke first) will do. Nothing long or fancy.

Digging games, I think, are CRAP anyway cos they're just so damn frustrating to beat! But when you add the fact that I was expecting more development on the Kaguya plotline, it REALLY pissed me off to find that there was nothing more to 'helping' her than that damn digging game! After a while that music also makes you wanna cry in exasperation.
Did I mention I LOVE Okami :)

Golden ink pot. A treasure item from the Emperor. Buy it with demon fangs. It's doable without, but you need a lot of pots.

Gah my sister has tried this minigame so many times and just when we think she's making good time, the wind blows Kaguya the wrong way and then we end up running out of time cuz that eats up like 20 seconds.

I can't do this level. For some reason when I try drawing (wii version) the paintbrush flashes back and forth and if a try drawing it'll stutter and make these long lines. If I make the water thing perfectly it never goes up, and same goes for the wind. I'm constantly running low on ink too.

At the first spring fountain, instead of going down and into the fountain, try to make her pass over with the wind brush technique, its shorter. You dont need to use the first fountain at all

So, i hear Okami is very difficult on wii? I use PS2, So its way different than wii. BUT YES i play wii every day haha just not Okami cause I like the ps2 version better. But it would be awesome when you use your Celestial brush cause it's just like painting with a real brush right?

hehe! yeah i don't know how it is on PS2 but on the Wii it is so freakin hard. and the drawing can get annoying cause if you don't do it EXACTLY right it will mess up. i yell at that thing so much it aint even funny....

For ps2 you just hold R1 and move the analog stick, which is really easy. And, its a little slower than the wii to draw, but it works a hell of a lot better. n_n

Stuck? Well all you have to do is run around before you press the button to start it, so that you run as fast as you can(when you see yellow grass) then RIGHT as the moment you touch the button to start the race, use the PAUSE move, and keep using it when you think he's catching up to you. :D

The geyser controls suck, period. I'm doing this for the PS2, it's my fourth run, and on my last one I spent at least a minute and a half trying to get the geyser to work with no luck at all.

To get a geyser to work you just have to draw a very VERY short line upwards from the water once the blue smoke appears. Doesn't have to be very long.
