Laguna Seca is easy to drive without going off, but it takes alot of skill to go realy fast because it demands car control from the driver to push that bit faster

Whats so hard about the corkscrew, especially in a video game? Dont believe the hype people this shit is too easy, except for the demolition derby that it is.
i've driven quite a lot in seca with my lotus, and its pretty straight forward to be honest. the corkscrew felt amazing in the beginning. it is reeaaaally steep, makes your insides feel weird.
Jeremy from Top Gear tried the track after playing Gran Turismo and he couldn't speed up, he was just so scared. Seems like you are literally speeding blindly on top of a hill and you have no idea whats down below, how did you get over that?
you just go easy at the beginning and gradually gain speed and confidence. There are markers on the side of the track so you can easily spot the right braking point. And there is a small run off area, so you can mess up the corner quite bad and still get a way with out crashing. Kerbs are pretty low so you can attack them with ease. andretti is more challenging corner to nail imo. but the corkscrew is ofcourse the most fun
I've played Laguna Seca in Gran Turismo 3. It has always been a tricky track for me, so I know how to use it. Thanks for the extra tips, as I now see where I was going wrong...

I'm really not sure why there are different shipping dates. If I had to venture a guess it would be because the physical copies of the game are manufactured here in NA and have to make their way overseas. But honestly, I have no idea =P Just guessing!

I said "what if?".... I wouldn't call the stories horrible.. there are games with worse plots. I liked the stories from U1 and 2,MW and Carbon cuz .. well they're funny in a way ... NFS meant fantasy racing before and now it has become a half simulator. so overall .. I'm not saying that this game is crappy .. I'm saying that it shouldn't be called Need For Speed. I'm prob gonna buy it along with a gaming steering wheel to see how good are it's physics.
I don't really judge/ care about video game plots unless they are RPGs, I do judge movies though. From what I can tell it is hard to make a racing movie that has a good plot unless it is a real documentary (Audi of America)... What I like about Shift is the combination between a simulator and arcade-like scoring, I think it is awesome.
I do agree that it (and Prostreet) aren't like a lot of the other NFS games, but I'm liking the changes. It isn't as hardcore as Forza but it is still realistic.

yeah pretty much usually. But the game has been all about street racing in a free roam city, running from cops, racing for pink slips and stuff. This is a total change in what the game used to be.
I hate the corksrew or watever its called, I remember playing Gran Torismo 2 (lol long time) for ps1, I used to go in the grass/sand instead of going on the track
Hahaha. Gran Turismo 2 kick ass at that time. I remember using a Viper Dodge GTR at that cockscrew part of the track and skidded off into the sand path below and get run over by oncoming racers. xD
NFS 2 has a great garage. BMW Nazca C2, Ford Indigo, Ford GT90, Italdesign Cala, Ferrari F50, McLaren F1, Jaguar XJ220, Lotus Esprit and some bonus cars like FZR 2000
I hope they have open track days there! I'm moving near there soon.

Well looks like we are making one type of racing game now.
I mean this is a ok game and all but it has already been done.
Maybe we should stop making the movie Fast & the furious and make it into non Street racing stuff.

So why isn't EA going back to their original roots in the 90s? We all remember the original Need For Speed and Desert Strike but no one seems to remember much about Underground(and it's sequel).

what if it does inspire me? that doesn't mean that I don't know anything about driving.... I have gran turismo and I think that my friends can agree with me that I'm more than an average driver."most wanted"-like games are a bit more than reality and that is what makes them cool.

Games are a different story, especially if they are well made with a good physics engine

I said "what if?".... I wouldn't call the stories horrible.. there are games with worse plots. I liked the stories from U1 and 2,MW and Carbon cuz .. well they're funny in a way ... NFS meant fantasy racing before and now it has become a half simulator. so overall .. I'm not saying that this game is crappy .. I'm saying that it shouldn't be called Need For Speed. I'm prob gonna buy it along with a gaming steering wheel to see how good are it's physics.

I don't really judge/ care about video game plots unless they are RPGs, I do judge movies though. From what I can tell it is hard to make a racing movie that has a good plot unless it is a real documentary (Audi of America)... What I like about Shift is the combination between a simulator and arcade-like scoring, I think it is awesome.
I do agree that it (and Prostreet) aren't like a lot of the other NFS games, but I'm liking the changes. It isn't as hardcore as Forza but it is still realistic.

I never said that driving was the only way of getting inspired, I only said I don't see how it is possible to get inspired by Fast and Furious, and I get inspired by driving...
I never said that there aren't movies/video games out there that can't inspire.

Man, i admire the realistic driving experience u get with SHIFT but....if i wanna feel like i'm driving...well i'll just drive my car. What i want to feel while playing a game is fun! i wanna be able to do sth i can't do in real life...and trust me, i won't get into a car chase just for the thrill of it ;)

yeah pretty much usually. But the game has been all about street racing in a free roam city, running from cops, racing for pink slips and stuff. This is a total change in what the game used to be.

Hahaha. Gran Turismo 2 kick ass at that time. I remember using a Viper Dodge GTR at that cockscrew part of the track and skidded off into the sand path below and get run over by oncoming racers. xD

the corkscrew turn in leguna seca is much more tight in real life, the track in this game was made much easier to tackle

NFS 2 has a great garage. BMW Nazca C2, Ford Indigo, Ford GT90, Italdesign Cala, Ferrari F50, McLaren F1, Jaguar XJ220, Lotus Esprit and some bonus cars like FZR 2000
