wow......now thats some lame TV Maher is pretty good at reading a teleprompter! Too bad people have to write his jokes for him. He is a douchebag. they tell thier crowd when to laugh/clap........LAME.
Jesus holding the constitution in front of the founders...lolz
Lets see here...
Commandmant #1: Worship ONLY ME.
Amendant #1: Worship ANY GOD YOU WANT.
Really? The biblical god favored a document that goes against his first commandment? Our first amendment contradicts god's first law/command?! Weird...
No doubt the founders were super smart men , the jews also are smart people . The Jews however combine evil with their intelligence while the founders combined goodness with theirs .The average Jewish person does not even know the deceitfulness of their Jewish money masters who could not care less for them or us . They still support many Jewish causes however and that could come back to bite them as they are just being used as "leverage".
Bottom line is Bill Maher is a traitor to his country, he is not even funny, the fact that he has a show is a joke, maybe he will get to do his show from a fema camp someday.
@patwaddington Sorry to burst your bubble, Im not even american so you can throw your stereotypes out the window. The guy is a joke, he is a globalist he thinks that there should be 1 government of the world. The leaders cant run thier own countries not to mention the world. They think they are experts and they are gonna throw out the constituation and just write a new updated one. The forefathers warned of this, wake up.....read a book and learn something. Ron Paul 2012 is the last hope for U.S
It's hard to ascertain what he thinks of the Founding Fathers. In the first half he reduces them all to affluent, atheistic, elitist, slave-owning white men that should not be emulated, then promotes academicism in leaders while listing all of the Founders' scholarly triumphs. I'm not sticking up for the Tea Party, but I will stick up for history. Maher may think that he is God's replacement, but he still really needs to study his country's heritage.
@snipetracker I think that unlike religious people, atheists can accept that famous people, who were a major part of the orginizations which the atheists today identify with (like a Nation or Social club), did immoral things, and that not everything they stood for and believed should be carried on to the modern world.
@pythag123 This is true. That said, maybe that is the difference between the two groups. The Tea-Partiers tend to focus upon the eminent contributions made by the Founders that are worth emulation, while the revisionist intellectuals like Maher tend to focus upon the natural flaws in the Founders' private dispositions, flaws that all people can possess. Personally, I would rather focus upon the positive rather than the negative.
@snipetracker That's no what maher is trying to say he is trying to tell those that worship the founding fathers that they to had faults and that the tea party is massively misinterpreting there message and ideology
@Luis568369 and he is SOOO right the gop'ers keep spouting the garbage that we are "a christian nation" (especially sucky santorum) and its SO FAR off the mark - The Founding Fathers were a reflection of the American population. Having escaped from the state-established religions of Europe, only 7% of the
people in the 13 colonies belonged to a church when the Declaration of
Independence was signed. that is documented fact. the rest is bull
The guy has a B A from Cornell and puts forth this pathetic rant! Well I guess education has been dumbed-down a lot since 1776. A little research will tell you Paine was not an atheist, and he purposefully took Adams's quote out of context, or maybe he hasn't read the material at all. I am not a bible thumper or Republican but I am not impressed by these mindless rants. But now that we have heard the monkey I just wonder who the organ grinder is that puts this man front and center.
Actually, all the Founding Fathers would have been horrified at the state of our government. The whole purpose of the Constitution was to limit government. However, our President and his followers are trying to expand it as fast as possible.

The Adams quote Maher referenced was taken out of context. He should actually read the entire letter instead of just getting his information from atheist and secular humanist websites.
As the Government of the United States of America IS NOT, IN ANY SENSE, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen,—and as the said States never entered into any war or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties that no pretext arising from religious opinions shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
@ZeusTelemaxos Of course it was not founded on any religion. That is different than saying the men who founded the nation were not Christian. Many were.
What about the John Adams quote from the Treaty of Tripoli. Was that taken out of context as well? As the Government of the United States of America IS NOT, IN ANY SENSE, founded on the Christian religion,—as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen....
.
So tell us was this treaty out of context? Read this book Teabeggers "Who killed Homer".The US was purely founded on Greek principles. Not Cheez US
@ZeusTelemaxos Ohh.... and after you check out the Adams quote and the fact that Thomas Paine wasn't an atheist, check this out....
The U.S. State Department's official position on the Treaty of Tripoli after conducting a study on it, is that the original translation of the Arabic (the original treaty was written in Arabic) was extremely poor and that Article 11 of the treaty does not exist. Why don't you go read the actual translation of the treaty, Article 11 isn't there.
Hahaha you are such an idiot zeustelemaxos. My friend and I were just reading some of your comments and other videos you reference after watching this manifestation of retardation and ignorance, known as Bill Maher, while laughing our asses off. My friend has a masters in history and we are both very aware of the truths and manipulations of history; this is why it's funny to hear your ludicrous ideas on religious and political issues. I would debate with you if you had a brain.
@PeterFormaini Explain to me how the quote was in context please.
"The evil that has resulted from the error of the schools in teaching natural philosophy as an accomplishment only has been that of generating in the pupils a species of atheism. Instead of looking through the works of the creation to the Creator himself, they stop short, and employ the knowledge they acquire to create doubts of His existence." - Thomas Paine
@bRizzle2009100 so what most of our modern understanding of the world and mind would have deconvert them in an instant. the only reason why many of them were deists was because they had yet to explain the human concience. Now we can, just chemistry in our heads.
@bRizzle2009100 I don't think it is possible to determine all that were deist. The inqusition that went into effect in 1492 cause many diest and jews to proclaim themselves christians even if they were not, simply to save their own lives. This carried over into the new world and is in large part the origin of secret societies. There was a papal bull that state that all nonchristian lands could be claimed by the vatican. For this reason alone there is motive to pretend to be christian.
@TheWillwillwill "I don't think it is possible to determine all that were deist."
Its very possible to determine there religious beliefs yes. Jefferson for instance has over 20,000 writings. He didnt hide anything. Adams himself has tens of thousands of writings. Washington, Madison, Mason, Rush, etc all have thousands and thousands of writings. Its very possible to determine just about everyone of the 250 founding fathers' religious beliefs.
@bRizzle2009100 I respect your attention to detail of the writings of the founding fathers of usa and agree with most all of what you are saying on the face level of what they wrote publicly. There is a difference between the private and public politicians and what they let into the public domain. Take Tammeny Hall for instance for a corruption of Gov. They crate a false facade and operate in a different mode underneath.
@bRizzle2009100 One thing to keep in mind about early america is that they left Europe for a reason. Many times that reason was religion/inquisitions all over Europe. Anyway, Jefferson and many other early americans had Jewish ancestry... Which would be normal. The jewish folks were running from the inquisitins for 200 years prior.
@bRizzle2009100 You merely need to look at the city layoust of Washington and the Roman/other Esoteric symbolism to realize there is something more at play than straight forward religion...
@ProdigyBigBoss89 "I believe in one God, and no more; and I hope for happiness beyond this life." - Thomas Paine
Definitely wasn't an atheist. He was a deist in the truest sense. He believed in God but did not believe in divine intervention or divine revelation. Most of the founders rejected Paine's religious beliefs.
Yes they had to say things like that publicly so they didnt get burned at the stake. Everyone with a brain lied about believing in a "god"even DaVinci Capernicus and Kepler. If you questioned the "god" the Christian Taliban either burned you,hung you or imprisoned you.
@ZeusTelemaxos America was very different from Europe. They didnt burn people at the stake. England sought to suppress and discriminate against other denominations besides the Anglican Church bc that was the official state run church. Thats what the whole revolution was about. Paine was a deist. Your trying to rewrite history to fit your own agenda.
@bRizzle2009100 I think there were some people burned at the stake in Salem Mass, I am sure if I was a non-Christian living in Salem at the time, I would have kept my mouth shut and gone to Church. Religion, Nationalism and other strong cultural beliefs can become dogmatic and oppressive in subtle ways. Non-conformity is bad for business.
@TheWillwillwill Lets just assume thats true. How can you prove the majority of the founders publicly expressed Christian beliefs so they wouldn't be persecuted? Even after the Constitution was established and they had declared independence the vast majority still expressed Christian beliefs.
@bRizzle2009100 The Salem burnings are fact. And no I can't prove to what extent or how many founding fathers played along with Christianity just to get along in society, but it did and does happen today. One thin you might what to look at is a book called "First American Jewish Families" by Malcom Stern You can find it at The American Jewish Archives Website. There are many prominent names found in the book from early America.
@TheWillwillwill Well here in America the population doesn't "play along with Christianity" just to get along in society. Thats ridiculous. I think your trying to make excuses. It might have happened in early America when the Anglican Church was the established church of England and ppl attended the church just so they wouldn't get in trouble but that ceased after Independence. Thats kinda what the whole revolution was about, freedom of conscience.
@bRizzle2009100 Deist or Agnostic really. It's really hard to say that people who say "I don't know one way or the other" to be Christians. Either you follow God/Jesus or not, but there is also Believing in God/Jesus or not. Just because you follow the first doesn't mean you follow the second. No smart person follows the Bible fully today (there are better sources for morals today) but still call themselves Christians. Either that makes them Agnostic or Deist. Theist makes less sense.
@ProdigyBigBoss89 Paine was a deist but the majority were Christians. Jefferson & Franklin were non-Christians. George Washington, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton, Roger Sherman, John Witherspoon, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, James Wilson, Robert Livingston, Robert Treat Paine, John Jay & others were Christians. The population at the time was 99.8% Christian, 98.4% Protestant and 1.4% Catholic. To say that most of the 250 or so founders were deists doesn't coincide with the population.
@bRizzle2009100 True. But, when taking government into account. It is sure that they didn't want to make religion one with the household of the government. Since that had had such deep negative impact in their former countries. It's hard to say between Deist and Agnostic really. One is closer to Christianity and the other Atheism. But again. It's not what seperates Atheist/Agnostics and Theist/Deist's, Secular values in the end is what drives it home. And that's a tune all these people play to.
@ProdigyBigBoss89 Well the founders definitely didnt want a theocracy. Theocracies had killed millions over the past few centuries. But they didnt want a totally secular government either. They wanted religion and morality to play an important role in government but didnt want one denomination legally over another. For instance, when they had church services in the Capital Building on Sundays, the chaplains from different denominations took turns every week.
@bRizzle2009100 Giving the take towards the understanding of how religion takes part towards society, I'm still inclined to believe that it was Secular. The total part can be taken both ways when it comes to "total". I guess it's a bit up to each person to how they interpret Secularism and its comparison to the Founding Fathers.
@bRizzle2009100 Yah, but conservative Christians would have still hated him. He may have believed in a supreme being, but he also believed the Bible was mostly bullshit and considered the plausibility of reincarnation.
Thomas Paine was NOT an atheist! He declared himself to be a deist---a person who believes in a God but not one that intervenes in human affairs. He says it very clearly in his scathing criticism of the Bible "The Age of Reason." The same goes for many other founding fathers.
@Freethinker12341 Well, it's definitely a misrepresentation. There is a huge difference between saying someone doesn't believe in God to someone that does believe in the existence of a God. But yeah, he definitely wasn't a theist and that's certainly the main point Maher is addressing. But still...accuracy does matter.
it's fun how american atheists are PROUND of their atheism !
I am from Brazil. Let me understand this.
In Usa , right wing = christian and believe in less state in the economy
.......... left wing = atheist and believe in more state in the economy
Here in Brazil there is no right wing, the state control almost all the economy. We can't buy cigarrets, we can't buy guns and the state is bigger and bigger.
Seriously? Hitler? if you mention Hitler please mention ALL the rest of the Genocides that have happened before and after Hitler. Because the world is seeing through your agenda when you only mention Hitler.. Hitler DID NOT act on scriptures. By a gods instructions. The danger with the Abrahamic Zombie religions is that the Zombies who follow them think they are acting on Gods instructions.
Just In case anyone doubted Bill. Jews by religion, can Enslave anyone
Leviticus 25:44-46: “Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can will them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.”
ALSO, joe035, Hitler was more of a right-winger, he was racist - clearly did not believe in respecting minorities or coming close to seeing all people as equal (like frankly, a hell of a lot of conservatives) he was very pro-military and invading other countries (certainly not a pacifist), he was very dogmatic, arrogant and unwilling to negotiate or see things from other people's points of view, AND he was very much PRO-CENSORSHIP (look it up) !
@joe035 you couldn't refute what i said - Hitler was more conservative (a rigid ideological conservative like the majority of republicans today!) But Canada also imprisoned many Japanese - like I said any president at the time would have done the same - show me proof that many (or any) republicans of the day objected to it! NOT only Calvin Coolidge but MANY Republican presidents also segregated blackis in military - Obama was elected by a WIDE RANGE of people!
You are an idiot Joe035. Hitler manipulated people and lied to them to gain power. Hitler suppressed Unions and labor workers and killed them. He also killed people who were poor and anyone who is a minority and not blonde hair blue eyes. The White Nationalist and Nazi movements of today are far right movements, Hitler was a far right dictator and Nazism is a far right ideology including the Nazi party.
@cinemafreak666 Wikipedia...While he studied the activities of the DAP, Hitler became impressed with founder Anton Drexler's antisemitic, nationalist, anti-capitalist and anti-Marxist ideas. Drexler favoured a strong active government, a "non-Jewish" version of socialism, and solidarity among all members of society.
Yes Hitler did those things, but Wikipedia would align active govt. nationalist, anti-capitalistic & pro-socialism views to the LEFT! Dems have history full of racism as well!
And here is the first sentence on Wikipedia, since we are using wikipedia of Anton Drexler.
"Anton Drexler (13 June 1884 – 24 February 1942) was a German right-wing political leader of the 1920s, known for being Adolf Hitler's mentor during his early days in politics."
Hitler was far right as was the Nazi Party and Nazism in general. Nationalism and anti-capitalism is not left wing you asshole. A leftist Liberal created Capitalism and Nationalism can be far right and far left.
@cinemafreak666 Comparing the Right here in the USA to that of Germany's Right in the 1930's is absurd. READ IT! Wikipedia defined what the Right at that time in that country stood for. Many of the same things the LEFT here in the USA now stand for, socialism!
Redistribution of wealth & social engineering are all ideologies advocated by the LEFT! BIG govt is desirable of the LEFT.
Our founders created a Republic to protect us from tyrants as rule of law not whims of masses should prevail!
@joe035 Yes, in that way Hitler was more like Democrats than Republicans I suppose...BUT the horrible things he did had nothing to do with his "socialism" - he was racist, had a problem with many different groups and, correct me if I'm wrong but it's mostly Conservatives who than can be said of ! Also, he was VERY much pro-censorship (look it up) and VERY hostile militarily - he clearly believed in military inteventionsionism ! Clearly the opposite of a pacisfist liberal Democrat !
@Claronium780 Obama just attacked Libya without provocation or Congressional approval would you say he is a pacifist liberal democrat? You cant say either democrats or republicans are anything like Hitler. People make up both parties & neither party is based of race only ideology! FDR put my grandmother in a camp because she was Japanese liberals would argue it wasn't because of her skin or ethnicity but we were at war, theyconvienantly forget no Italians or Germans were in the camp with her!
You are an idiot extremism is extremism. White Nationalists and American Neo-Nazi's still follow Hitler's ideology and still exist today in America and elsewhere and they are far right ideologies. I read it all. Wikipedia does not define what the right at that time in that country stood far. Hitler was far right and conservatives in that time were big business, farmers, and religious people. Sorry but that is the facts.
@cinemafreak666 National socialist sound like the extreme right to you?? Replacing the Christian cross with a swastika sounds like something the Right would do here? Advocataion of social welfare is how Democraps buy votes not Repubs.
Hitler did not advocate redistribution of wealth and redistribution can vary, socialism is redistributing to help the poor but many conservatives support redistributing wealth that go up to the richest people who already have the money and steal from most people in the form of corporate welfare and corporate handouts conservatives support that. Social Engineering can happen on both sides.
The founding fathers believed in a republic but also talked bad about banks and corporations
@cinemafreak666 Conservatives believe charity is the responsibility of you as an individual, liberals believe it is the role of govt, not all but many. Both parties are controlled by special interests, Obama recieveds more money from the sachs people then McCain. Obama's billionaire buddy Soros got 2 billion tax dollars to drill off Brazils coast not ours.
Representative democracy is like a republic and the founding fathers supported both. The founding fathers supported protest and rebellion and fighting for what you believe. Republic and Democracy both are very similar despite some differences but both advocate the right to assemble and protest, and the founders supported that and the founders were criminals and were the first outlaws. You clearly are a Fascist.
Democrats were not leftists they were conservative during their racist period. It's funny that every single retarded argument that you have thrown out, I have heard it before from every person like you. Democrats supported state rights, a smaller Federal Government, were more influenced my Jeffersonian Democracy than Federalism or the Whigs. They advocated Gold and silver as currency and supported laissez faire Capitalism.
Democrats allowed creation of the Federal Reserve, SEIZED Gold & Silver under FDR advocated the creation of more supreme court judges to pass unconstitutional laws. When did Democrats not back unions, socialism & a strong central govt???
You must live in bizarro world to think racist Democrats are the Republicans of the day. Jeffersonian Democracy is a Constitutional REPUBLIC, the LEFT would like to pervert that too!
@joe035 Also, when you say "Jeffersonian Democracy is a constitutional REPUBLIC" i just dont get what you mean... because he uses the word 'republic' which sounds like 'republican'?
@HoRostam Jeffersonian Democracy is called that by democrats, when in truth it is a constitutional republic. They perverted it as Jefferson preffered a Republic to a Democracy & Democraps believe the Constitution is a living breathing document which to can be twisted to fit their needs.
Dude shut the hell up. Stop responding, you have no clue what you are talking about and you are insulting my intelligence. Democrats didn't create the Federal Reserve, it happened under Wilson but the conservatives are the ones that brought it into power and to a vote, and many radical conservatives voted against the federal reserve because they wanted an even more larger and more controlling banking system, its called the Aldrich Plan look it up asshole.
FDR didn't seize Gold and Silver. It was Nixon that finally eliminated the Gold Standard and silver. Gold and silver was not doing well and it failed. FDR didn't eliminate the Gold Standard or silver but it wasn't the main source of currency.It became the fallback currencies.Every country that got out of the depression quicker than us or avoided it, they avoided it because they got rid of the Gold Standard, we ended up having the depression because conservatives kept trying to keep it
FDR didn't advocate anything that was unconstitutional. We have a supreme court, he didn't add more to anything. Judges were elected to the Supreme court and many supported FDR, there was nothing that was unconstitutional, nothing law breaking, there were no unconstitutional laws that were advocated or passed.
You clearly don't have a single idea about American history. Democrats didn't start backing Unions until the 20th century. But the Democrats didn't become mostly liberal and union until the 1970s or 1980s. Democrats used to support gold and silver, they supported free-market capitalism, less regulation, less taxes. They supported state rights over a federal government. Democratic Party based their ideas off of the Jeffersonian Democracy the Democratic-Republican party became democrat
It was Republicans that were union supporters, it was republicans that put forth the first income tax, it was republicans that supported public schools and welfare, it was republicans that started the progressive movement, it was republicans that support infrastructure, it was republicans that supported a stronger and larger federal government and much more. The Republicans were liberal and the Free-Soil and Northern democrats were liberal they were the small minority of the democrats
Its True, the Republicans are the Democratic party of the 1800s and the Democratic Party of today are the Republicans of that time period. Look up Jeffersonian Democracy, look up Jacksonian Democracy, look how the Democratic patty was formed. Read about the Southern Strategy which is what made the parties switch ideologies. Jefferson called it Jeffersonian Democracy you asshole. Learn your facts the democrats were conservative and the republicans were liberal.
The Republican Party were liberal and supported a stronger Federal government, public education, they put forth the first income tax, they supported Tariffs and protectionism. Republican Party supported infrastructure as well and they were the ones behind the progressive movement.
The Republican Party of back then is not the Republican Party of today just like the Democratic Party of back then is not the Democratic party of today, they changed ideologies.
@cinemafreak666 Woodrow Wilson a DEMOCRAT amended the Constitution to allow income taxes with the support of a Democrat Majority in the House. Some Republicans went along as initially it was intended to be a TEMPORARY tax!
I would agree that both parties are perversions of what Websters Dictionary would define them as being as neither Party is 100% represenative of what they are supposed to be. But it is disingenuos to say Dems are what Repubs were & Repubs are racists, LMAO!
Stop always saying what each politician and what their party is. We all know what party Woodrow Wilson was. You are the only one who doesn't know history. The income taxes were never temporary, yes they were used to pay back the civil war but they weren't temporary. One income tax plan was passed in 1861 and then a completely new income tax plan was created a year later in 1862. Both were passed by Republicans. The 16th Amendment had support from Republicans and Democrats
It's called the Southern Strategy, look it up. Democrats were conservatives and Republicans were liberal. That changed during the Southern Strategy from there political ideologies started making a radical shift and both parties switched ideologies. That is an undeniable fact. Why do you think the South is now all republican when it was Democrat why do you think its only republicans who wear confederate gear and celebrate confederate holidays? Like seriously, get real
Lincoln also got a fan letter from Karl Marx and Lincoln talked about how labor and laborers are superior to that of Capital. Sure sounds like a dirty socialist to me, am I right? And just so you know the Republican Party was also formed out of Democrats. They just weren't the established Southern conservative dixicrats. The Republican Party was created out of Whigs and Free Soil Democrats. So technically the republican party was formed by the Democrats.
I don't support what FDR and my aunt's parents were in those internment camps as well. Many Republicans supported FDR's internment camps. The conservative Canadian government had their own as well. Also if you want to point things out, Reagan had Rex 84 that allowed the suspension of the constitution and to imprison random Americans for no reason. George W. Bush installed labor camps on military bases.
@cinemafreak666 Please share your demographic "Source" of Republicans that supported FDR interment camps? FDR was a Democrat Racist still held in high favor by dems today
Rex 84 was established on the reasoning that if a "mass exodus" of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA. This arent interment camps intending on holding people for years but transition stations to send them back! FYI Obama still has it in play
What FDR did got an overwhelming majority of Republican support for the internment camps. I'm not supporting it because I am anti-war and nearly every anti-war person both Democrat and Republican didn't support it but they were the minority. FDR's plan was supported by both Republicans and Democrats that is an undeniable fact, look it up asshole. And FDR wasn't racist and the internment camps had nothing to do with racism, race might of played a part but it wasn't "RACISM"
@cinemafreak666 FDR had majorities in both the House & Senate it was DEMOCRATS that allowed my grandmother to be thrown into a prison, please reference me your source as it was a Republican majority that imprisoned her because of the color of her skin, slant of her eyes & her Japanese ancestry? She didn't recall seeing ANY GERMAN AMERICANS or AMERICAN ITALIANS in there with her!
It doesn't matter who has the majority. The minority party in congress also creates plans and laws and a lot of the time the minority party in congress gets his laws passed. Its not who has majority but who creates the policies and who voted for them. It had a huge vote and both parties supported FDR and his internment camps. Again Reagan had Rex 84, Bush had labor camps, and Republicans created concentration camps during the Philippine war.
And guess what Germans and Italians were placed in internments as well. Canada's conservative leaders at that time had internment camps as well. it was also only on the west coast in one section of the economy. It wasn't the entire country. if you were on the west coast they moved you temporary. It was because we were attacked by Japan and its easier for them in invade through the west coast. It had nothing to do with racism.
@cinemafreak666 No Italian or German Americans were placed in FDR interment camps only Japanese Americans!!
Wilson ALLOWED blacks to be hung took NO ACTION to stop it & created segregation but you say these acts don't make him a racist. Wow you will justify anything to protect your beloved democrap party!
Oh shut the fuck up with trying to now thing Rex 84 was necessary. It had nothing to do with Illegal Aliens. Here is the definition of Rex 84. CONTINUED
"Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was a secretive "scenario and drill" developed by the United States federal government to suspend the United States Constitution, declare martial law, place military commanders in charge of state and local governments, and detain large numbers of American citizens who are deemed to be national security threats
Yet it doesn't get into specifics and it allowed the suspension of the constitution, yes so it is imprisoning Americans for no reason
They aren't FEMA Camps. Rex 84 is not FEMA camps that is a conspiracy but they do have prisons set up around the country to suspend the constitution and to throw innocent Americans in prison without a fail trial and due process. That was created under Reagan and Republicans. You are trying to spin this because you have no argument. It doesn't matter that the president today is Democrat the last one for the last 8 years kept Rex 84 and put in new labor camps. He was a Republican
@cinemafreak666 FEMA Camps are still in existance today, & we have a Democrat President. I read wikipedia's version & a more extended version of the same thing at global research.ca.
Scary shit, don't worry those of us who believe in the Constitution, rule of law & the rights of you as an individual will protect you with the guns you would like governement to take away from us.
Who cares if we have a Democrat as a president. Jesus fucking Christ. Stop bringing in Obama with every conversation he is irrelevant, Rex 84 has been around since the 80s, there have been more Republicans in the white house than Democrats and they all kept Rex 84. Congress also has more power than the president and all the republicans in congress kept Rex 84. FDR at least got rid of the internments.
More batshit. You aren't doing anything. You scream at the Occupy protestors calling them criminals for being on property that isn't there's or shitting on a cop car that was a police who probably performed police brutality then you teabaggers are all about following the rules letting the status quo fuck you in the ass because you clean up and make sure its during hours that are allowed all this bull shit but base yourself on real hardcore criminals which are the founding fathers
No one is taking your guns away either asshole. The left does not support banning guns and eliminating the second amendment. We just don't think every single person should be able to own a machine gun if they have a criminal or mental health background. In fact Barack Obama has deregulated the gun market and allowed less gun control. He has provided more Gun rights than Bush, Clinton, and Reagan have provided. You are a nut.
And what does Obama still having it in play have to do with anything? You people are fucking unbelievable, why to bring it all back to Obama. You have no argument so you try to be like "well Obama still has it" Obama didn't pass it Reagan did and guess what FDR got rid of the internment camps in WW2. So why don't you thank him asshole.
Rex 84 was passed you asshole and it is implemented. No one has ever declared Martial law but it was passed and it has been implemented. So yes there are camps and prisons and yes American citizens are in there and it was under Reagan and republicans and yes it is a lot worse than what FDR's internment camps are which provided them with education, health, food, entertainment, and it wasn't across the entire country and it wasn't permanent, unlike Rex 84
I'm not evading anything and you have no facts, FDR wasn't a racist. He temporary put people who lived on the west coast who were Japanese, Italian, and German in internments but it provided a lot of activities for all of them. Canada's conservative government passed the same thing, Republicans supported FDR's internments. Obama is irrelevant, you keep wanting to bring Obama up, it was under Bush, Reagan, and H.W. Bush as well, and under Republican congress's why not mention them?
And Republicans in Washington who were in control of the military during the Philippine War established concentration camps for Philippines. Conservatives in Washington both republican and democrat at that time sent Native Amerians in concentration camps and in fact the whole institution of Slavery is one big concentration camps and yes conservatives were the ones who supported slavery and the Democrats prior to the New Deal were conservative.
@cinemafreak666 Abraham Lincoln a REPUBLICAN freed the blacks. It was the abolitionists or religious RIGHT of the day that abhord slavery & supported him! More % Repubs supported 1964 civil rights act!
You would rewrite all US HISTORY to create a better image of the LEFT then just accept the ideology for what it was then & is now?
DEMOCRAT Wilson SEGREGATED blacks from whites in our military, FDR IMPRISONED my grandmother because she was american japanese not illegally entering the country.
Abraham Lincoln and the Republican Party were not conservative you fucking dumb asshole. You are playing every single typical card. Lincoln talked about supporting Laborers more than Capital. He thought they were superior. He talked bad about Banks, he got support was sending letters to Karl Marx. Please don't try to spin this into Democrat and Republican, they were different parties. The Republican Party was not conservative they were liberal, Lincoln wasn't even religious.
@cinemafreak666 Lincoln was not an atheist he might have been homosexual but he wasn't an atheist as I have read nothing to justify such a claim! please reference me your source that he was?
I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how a man could look up into the heavens and say there is no God."
I never said that Lincoln was an atheist. He was a deist. He had no religious affiliation and he was not part of any church. The quote that you are saying has been debunked and never actually existed. You have this quote as well.
The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession.
-- Abraham Lincoln
The only person who is a worse liar than a faith healer is his patient.
The Democratic Party was split like 40 to 60 or 30 to 70 in terms of conservatives and progressives. The Southern Democrats voted against the civil rights act but they were the majority and they were conservative. However more northern Democrats voted in favor of the civil rights act than the northern republicans
You are the one re-writing history. Wilson gave equal pay to blacks and whites serving in the military, he appointed some black officials and he got support from the NAACP
Wilson divided them to avoid racial conflicts, there were many racists within Washington and the world and Wilson was trying to avoid African Americans being martyred because of their race. FDR was not a racist and was a leader in Civil Rights legislation. He passed a ton of civil rights and supported minorities and got support from minorities. I don't agree with the internment camps but it wasn't because of racism and he got rid of the internment camps as well after WW2
You got Bush installing labor camps on military bases, you got Reagan and Rex 84 which suspended the constitution and locked up Americans that he doesn't like without due process, you have Republicans during the Philippine War and installed concentration camps. You want to be bias well so can I.
And please Republicans were racist back then including Lincoln, he freed the slaves to avoid having the USA crumble. Lincoln supported Colonization of black Americans and said that Blacks and whites would never be able to work and be together. Lincoln also said that if there was any other way to end the civil war that didn't involved slavery, he would allow slavery to happen and continued. All Republicans were like this everyone was racist at that time for the most part.
Wilson also segregated the military not because he was racist but because he was trying to protect and avoid any racial conflicts between blacks and whites. That is why. It had nothing to do with segregation or racism.
@cinemafreak666 Great try to justify racism because he was a Democrat!
Wilson did not speak out against lynchings or the KKK which grew in great ranks during his presidency either! He allowed the destruction of the laws that protected blacks!
Liberal academic historians consistently put Wilson in the top 10 or 20 of American presidents FDR is top 5! Our college proffessors love bigots!
You have no idea what racism is or what you are talking about so please just shut up. Wilson did speak out against the KKK but he couldn't stop them. And yes he was looking at it as a political reason. He needed some of those conservative racist democrats and their support however like I said, Wilson got support from NAACP, he appointed some African Americans to his office, he gave equal pay and benefits for blacks and whites. The separation was to avoid anyone from being hurt
Wilson wasn't racist and he won WW1 and he helped bring much modernization to the country. The Roaring 20s wouldn't of happened if Wilson didn't have a war economy that created much new industries and technologies that he then had put onto the market for the general public. FDR was not a racist and actually was one of the first true civil rights person in the 20th century getting support from minorities and passing a ton of civil rights legislation. College professors don't love bigots
And again everyone had their share of racism during that time period. Lincoln supported Colonization, said that blacks and whites can't be together and said that he would of kept slavery if he had any other way of try to defeat and win the civil war. Mostly everyone was like that. The only people that weren't are the radical republicans which got a lot of hate and didn't last but they were very liberal to a radical sense.
@cinemafreak666 The NAACP worked for more than a decade to obtain federal legislation that would render lynching illegal. Throughout these lobbying efforts, the organization regularly displayed a black flag stating "A Man Was Lynched Yesterday" from the window of its New York offices to mark each outrage. This was THROUGHOUT Wilsons Presidency!
The guy could have hung blacks from the white house gates & because he was a Democrat you would claim it wasn't because he is racist, pathetic!
WIlson had nothing to do with those Lynchings, again what you are saying is irrelevant. Racism existed the KKK was at its strongest and that is why he was trying to avoid racial conflicts. He got support from the NAACP, the NAACP endorsed Wilson. Woodrow Wilson paid African Americans equal pay with White Americans, he put African Americans in his administration. Again you are an idiot.
@Claronium780 Democrats created interment camps & segregation of blacks from whites but they have nothing in common with Hitler only the right? Your logic baffles me!
Obama attacked Libya WITHOUT provocation & without Congressional approval which is illegal.
Obama has also been divisive, unwilling to negotiate with the RIGHT in HC reform & now faces constitutional fight with supreme court.
All would be tyrants are pro censorship, Obama advocates fairness doctrine which is censorship!
Obama didn't attack Libya, he handed it over to NATO. You are making shit up and you don't know the facts. Obama and his policies on Libya and NATO were completely LEGAL and were completely, CONSTITUTIONAL
@joe035 Again, and LISTEN - ANY President of those times would have unfortunately done the same - was there ANY Republican opposition to the internment camps!!?? The fairness doctrine is NOT "censorship", you m-o-r-o-n !!!
Obama has NOT been as divisive or partisan as Republicans have been since his election! or compared to BUSH! It was a REAL international N.A.T.O coalition that went into Libya, MORON (jhypocrite!!!) The HC bill was HEAVILY watered down for Repugnicans you moron!!!
@Claronium780 The DEMOCRATS passed that HC Bill with DEMOCRAT MAJORITIES in both the House & Senate.
The Republicans were excluded, no transparency as Obama promised CSPAN was kept out. Pelosi said we will read the Bill after it passes as if content wasn't important! Republicans told Obama it would be repealed if it passed the way they wrote it up & states would fight it.
Obama could have done something good, but like the tyrant he is did it entirely his way!
What are you fucking talking about. The Bill came to a vote IN CONGRESS. Republicans voted against it of course but it was Republicans who kept filibustering the HC Bill. There was transparency, the Bill was put online for congress and anyone to read. Obama wanted Single Payer, Republicans made sure that never happened, Obama wanted a Public option, Republicans made sure that never happened, they were blocking the healthcare bill and Obama watered it down for them.
@Claronium780 Government deciding what people should be listening to instead of what ratings demand is censorship MORON! The fairness doctrine was created to keep the liberal propaganda machine on the radio & limit oppositional views!
The War Powers Resolution of 1973 states that the president can only send the armed forces into military action abroad when the Congress has authorized it or if the United States is under attack, or at serious threat of attack. Obama should be impeached!
Internment camps had nothing to do with Race you bloody imbecile. Bush created labor camps as well, Reagan created camps and prisons its called Rex 84, Republicans created concentration camps during the Philippine War. Both sides are guilty you fuck head. Obama didn't attack Libya, he handed it to NATO, it was not illegal at all.
Obama has handed everything to republicans so shut the fuck up, the republicans aren;t willing to negotiate, Obama has not censored anything and the fairness doctrine is not censorship. The Republicans and conservatives have always been the ones that took away rights and censorship. They are the ones who have censored media, they are the ones that have censored music, video games, and art. They are the ones who have censored free speech.
@joe035 Occupy Wall Street is against the banks not lending and corporate America not hiring here (outsourcing jobs).
The tea party is for big business (lower corp taxes), the super wealthy who are investing overseas and cutting their own benefits (Medicare, education, infrastructure, soc security etc.).
The teabaggers are useful idiots for big business. The sad part is they don't even realize it. Even Greenspan said the Bush tax cuts must expire.
@TheSnoopy1750 Snoop where were these kids when we were out protesting the Bush to big to fail bailouts? I want to see some Goldman Sachs parasites in jail! I want to see Dodd who got a 1% loan from Countrywide & Frank who lied about the stability in jail. Banks make loans to qualified people as they cannot burden taxpayers to pay up their debts like our govt does. Corps are not hiring because consumer confidence is low, & there is no demand for their labors. Fire Obama things will improve!
There you go with your simpleton logic. What policies do the republicans have that are any different than Bush? Bush's tax cuts and deregulation resulted in oil spills, a financial collapse, tiny job growth, stagnant wages and job losses were 700,000 per month at the end.
I realize you're not too bright and can only resort to right wing anti-Obama points, but think about it for just 5 minutes and you might realize how gullible and ignorant you are.
@TheSnoopy1750 It was Bill Clinton & his Congress that repealed glass steagull that started all of this.
When a Republican subcommittee went to investigate Fannie & Freddie they were blocked by Frank, dodd & members of the black caucus! Frank lied & said Fannie was stable & excluded them from the very reform he & Dodd wrote to fix the mess they encouraged!
I would not advocate Repubs are any better but they are definitely no worse then the Dems we have in office. Obama has proven himself inept
When they orany group call on "The Founding Fathers" as some kind of holy priesthood second only to God, they're not thinking. There were almost 4 million people living in the United States during the first census. Even if you narrowed that down to elected Representatives and even the first few presidents you get a lot of division. Remember, more than half the delegates to the Constitutional Convention voted against putting in the Bill of Rights. .
@JonahtheFigPucker The first 4 presidents didn't get along very well either, John Adams had people arrested for Free Speech. So which issue had unanimous support from the Continental Congress? Only one, the Declaration of Independence. So you could support or condemn any political position simply by breaking out the ouija board and calling up the "Founding Fathers".
Get a job and quit worrying about everybody else !

The founding fathers were slave owners! But the teabaggers are not like them
Davidrochat509 1 month ago
It's hard to ascertain what he thinks of the Founding Fathers. In the first half he reduces them all to affluent, atheistic, elitist, slave-owning white men that should not be emulated, then promotes academicism in leaders while listing all of the Founders' scholarly triumphs. I'm not sticking up for the Tea Party, but I will stick up for history. Maher may think that he is God's replacement, but he still really needs to study his country's heritage.
snipetracker 1 month ago
@snipetracker I think that unlike religious people, atheists can accept that famous people, who were a major part of the orginizations which the atheists today identify with (like a Nation or Social club), did immoral things, and that not everything they stood for and believed should be carried on to the modern world.
pythag123 1 month ago
@pythag123 This is true. That said, maybe that is the difference between the two groups. The Tea-Partiers tend to focus upon the eminent contributions made by the Founders that are worth emulation, while the revisionist intellectuals like Maher tend to focus upon the natural flaws in the Founders' private dispositions, flaws that all people can possess. Personally, I would rather focus upon the positive rather than the negative.

And Thomas Paine wasn't an atheist either.

And Paine was most definitely an atheist - and made no bones about it.
PeterFormaini 2 months ago
@PeterFormaini Explain to me how the quote was in context please.
"The evil that has resulted from the error of the schools in teaching natural philosophy as an accomplishment only has been that of generating in the pupils a species of atheism. Instead of looking through the works of the creation to the Creator himself, they stop short, and employ the knowledge they acquire to create doubts of His existence." - Thomas Paine
He was a deist not an atheist.
bRizzle2009100 2 months ago
@bRizzle2009100 so what most of our modern understanding of the world and mind would have deconvert them in an instant. the only reason why many of them were deists was because they had yet to explain the human concience. Now we can, just chemistry in our heads.
kaindrg 1 month ago
@kaindrg Many of them were not deists. Please list the deists in your next comment and show me which ones in particular.
bRizzle2009100 1 month ago
@bRizzle2009100 I don't think it is possible to determine all that were deist. The inqusition that went into effect in 1492 cause many diest and jews to proclaim themselves christians even if they were not, simply to save their own lives. This carried over into the new world and is in large part the origin of secret societies. There was a papal bull that state that all nonchristian lands could be claimed by the vatican. For this reason alone there is motive to pretend to be christian.
TheWillwillwill 1 month ago
@TheWillwillwill "I don't think it is possible to determine all that were deist."
Its very possible to determine there religious beliefs yes. Jefferson for instance has over 20,000 writings. He didnt hide anything. Adams himself has tens of thousands of writings. Washington, Madison, Mason, Rush, etc all have thousands and thousands of writings. Its very possible to determine just about everyone of the 250 founding fathers' religious beliefs.
bRizzle2009100 1 month ago
@bRizzle2009100 I respect your attention to detail of the writings of the founding fathers of usa and agree with most all of what you are saying on the face level of what they wrote publicly. There is a difference between the private and public politicians and what they let into the public domain. Take Tammeny Hall for instance for a corruption of Gov. They crate a false facade and operate in a different mode underneath.
TheWillwillwill 1 month ago
@bRizzle2009100 One thing to keep in mind about early america is that they left Europe for a reason. Many times that reason was religion/inquisitions all over Europe. Anyway, Jefferson and many other early americans had Jewish ancestry... Which would be normal. The jewish folks were running from the inquisitins for 200 years prior.

Definitely wasn't an atheist. He was a deist in the truest sense. He believed in God but did not believe in divine intervention or divine revelation. Most of the founders rejected Paine's religious beliefs.
bRizzle2009100 1 month ago
@bRizzle2009100
Yes they had to say things like that publicly so they didnt get burned at the stake. Everyone with a brain lied about believing in a "god"even DaVinci Capernicus and Kepler. If you questioned the "god" the Christian Taliban either burned you,hung you or imprisoned you.
ZeusTelemaxos 1 month ago
@ZeusTelemaxos America was very different from Europe. They didnt burn people at the stake. England sought to suppress and discriminate against other denominations besides the Anglican Church bc that was the official state run church. Thats what the whole revolution was about. Paine was a deist. Your trying to rewrite history to fit your own agenda.
bRizzle2009100 1 month ago
@bRizzle2009100 I think there were some people burned at the stake in Salem Mass, I am sure if I was a non-Christian living in Salem at the time, I would have kept my mouth shut and gone to Church. Religion, Nationalism and other strong cultural beliefs can become dogmatic and oppressive in subtle ways. Non-conformity is bad for business.
TheWillwillwill 1 month ago
@TheWillwillwill Lets just assume thats true. How can you prove the majority of the founders publicly expressed Christian beliefs so they wouldn't be persecuted? Even after the Constitution was established and they had declared independence the vast majority still expressed Christian beliefs.
bRizzle2009100 1 month ago
@bRizzle2009100 The Salem burnings are fact. And no I can't prove to what extent or how many founding fathers played along with Christianity just to get along in society, but it did and does happen today. One thin you might what to look at is a book called "First American Jewish Families" by Malcom Stern You can find it at The American Jewish Archives Website. There are many prominent names found in the book from early America.
TheWillwillwill 1 month ago
@TheWillwillwill Well here in America the population doesn't "play along with Christianity" just to get along in society. Thats ridiculous. I think your trying to make excuses. It might have happened in early America when the Anglican Church was the established church of England and ppl attended the church just so they wouldn't get in trouble but that ceased after Independence. Thats kinda what the whole revolution was about, freedom of conscience.
bRizzle2009100 1 month ago
@bRizzle2009100 Deist or Agnostic really. It's really hard to say that people who say "I don't know one way or the other" to be Christians. Either you follow God/Jesus or not, but there is also Believing in God/Jesus or not. Just because you follow the first doesn't mean you follow the second. No smart person follows the Bible fully today (there are better sources for morals today) but still call themselves Christians. Either that makes them Agnostic or Deist. Theist makes less sense.
ProdigyBigBoss89 1 month ago
@ProdigyBigBoss89 Paine was a deist but the majority were Christians. Jefferson & Franklin were non-Christians. George Washington, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton, Roger Sherman, John Witherspoon, Samuel Adams, Patrick Henry, James Wilson, Robert Livingston, Robert Treat Paine, John Jay & others were Christians. The population at the time was 99.8% Christian, 98.4% Protestant and 1.4% Catholic. To say that most of the 250 or so founders were deists doesn't coincide with the population.
bRizzle2009100 1 month ago
@bRizzle2009100 True. But, when taking government into account. It is sure that they didn't want to make religion one with the household of the government. Since that had had such deep negative impact in their former countries. It's hard to say between Deist and Agnostic really. One is closer to Christianity and the other Atheism. But again. It's not what seperates Atheist/Agnostics and Theist/Deist's, Secular values in the end is what drives it home. And that's a tune all these people play to.
ProdigyBigBoss89 1 month ago
@ProdigyBigBoss89 Well the founders definitely didnt want a theocracy. Theocracies had killed millions over the past few centuries. But they didnt want a totally secular government either. They wanted religion and morality to play an important role in government but didnt want one denomination legally over another. For instance, when they had church services in the Capital Building on Sundays, the chaplains from different denominations took turns every week.
bRizzle2009100 1 month ago
@bRizzle2009100 Giving the take towards the understanding of how religion takes part towards society, I'm still inclined to believe that it was Secular. The total part can be taken both ways when it comes to "total". I guess it's a bit up to each person to how they interpret Secularism and its comparison to the Founding Fathers.
Search: Secularism on Wiki to take a look.
One can look to history and draw the definition.

Thomas Paine was NOT an atheist! He declared himself to be a deist---a person who believes in a God but not one that intervenes in human affairs. He says it very clearly in his scathing criticism of the Bible "The Age of Reason." The same goes for many other founding fathers.
virram476 4 months ago

Freethinker12341 4 months ago
@Freethinker12341 Well, it's definitely a misrepresentation. There is a huge difference between saying someone doesn't believe in God to someone that does believe in the existence of a God. You are an idiot Joe035. Hitler manipulated people and lied to them to gain power. Hitler suppressed Unions and labor workers and killed them. He also killed people who were poor and anyone who is a minority and not blonde hair blue eyes. The White Nationalist and Nazi movements of today are far right movements, Hitler was a far right dictator and Nazism is a far right ideology including the Nazi party.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 Wikipedia...While he studied the activities of the DAP, Hitler became impressed with founder Anton Drexler's antisemitic, nationalist, anti-capitalist and anti-Marxist ideas. Drexler favoured a strong active government, a "non-Jewish" version of socialism, and solidarity among all members of society.
Yes Hitler did those things, but Wikipedia would align active govt. nationalist, anti-capitalistic & pro-socialism views to the LEFT! Dems have history full of racism as well!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
A leftist Liberal created Capitalism and Nationalism can be far right and far left.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 Comparing the Right here in the USA to that of Germany's Right in the 1930's is absurd. READ IT! Wikipedia defined what the Right at that time in that country stood for. Many of the same things the LEFT here in the USA now stand for, socialism!
Redistribution of wealth & social engineering are all ideologies advocated by the LEFT! BIG govt is desirable of the LEFT.
Our founders created a Republic to protect us from tyrants as rule of law not whims of masses should prevail!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035 Yes, in that way Hitler was more like Democrats than Republicans I suppose...BUT the horrible things he did had nothing to do with his "socialism" - he was racist, had a problem with many different groups and, correct me if I'm wrong but it's mostly Conservatives who than can be said of ! Also, he was VERY much pro-censorship (look it up) and VERY hostile militarily - he clearly believed in military inteventionsionism ! Clearly the opposite of a pacisfist liberal Democrat !
Claronium780 4 months ago
@Claronium780 Obama just attacked Libya without provocation or Congressional approval would you say he is a pacifist liberal democrat? You cant say either democrats or republicans are anything like Hitler. People make up both parties & neither party is based of race only ideology! FDR put my grandmother in a camp because she was Japanese liberals would argue it wasn't because of her skin or ethnicity but we were at war, theyconvienantly forget no Italians or Germans were in the camp with her!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
Sorry but that is the facts.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 National socialist sound like the extreme right to you?? Replacing the Christian cross with a swastika sounds like something the Right would do here? Advocataion of social welfare is how Democraps buy votes not Repubs.
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
The founding fathers believed in a republic but also talked bad about banks and corporations
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 Conservatives believe charity is the responsibility of you as an individual, liberals believe it is the role of govt, not all but many. Both parties are controlled by special interests, Obama recieveds more money from the sachs people then McCain. Obama's billionaire buddy Soros got 2 billion tax dollars to drill off Brazils coast not ours.
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
You clearly are a Fascist.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
They advocated Gold and silver as currency and supported laissez faire Capitalism.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 When did the Democrats racist period end??
Democrats allowed creation of the Federal Reserve, SEIZED Gold & Silver under FDR advocated the creation of more supreme court judges to pass unconstitutional laws. When did Democrats not back unions, socialism & a strong central govt???
You must live in bizarro world to think racist Democrats are the Republicans of the day. Jeffersonian Democracy is a Constitutional REPUBLIC, the LEFT would like to pervert that too!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035 Also, when you say "Jeffersonian Democracy is a constitutional REPUBLIC" i just dont get what you mean... because he uses the word 'republic' which sounds like 'republican'?
HoRostam 4 months ago
@HoRostam Jeffersonian Democracy is called that by democrats, when in truth it is a constitutional republic. They perverted it as Jefferson preffered a Republic to a Democracy & Democraps believe the Constitution is a living breathing document which to can be twisted to fit their needs.
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
Dude shut the hell up. Stop responding, you have no clue what you are talking about and you are insulting my intelligence. Democrats didn't create the Federal Reserve, it happened under Wilson but the conservatives are the ones that brought it into power and to a vote, and many radical conservatives voted against the federal reserve because they wanted an even more larger and more controlling banking system, its called the Aldrich Plan look it up asshole.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
FDR didn't seize Gold and Silver. It was Nixon that finally eliminated the Gold Standard and silver. Gold and silver was not doing well and it failed. FDR didn't eliminate the Gold Standard or silver but it wasn't the main source of currency.It became the fallback currencies.Every country that got out of the depression quicker than us or avoided it, they avoided it because they got rid of the Gold Standard, we ended up having the depression because conservatives kept trying to keep it
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
FDR didn't advocate anything that was unconstitutional. We have a supreme court, he didn't add more to anything. Judges were elected to the Supreme court and many supported FDR, there was nothing that was unconstitutional, nothing law breaking, there were no unconstitutional laws that were advocated or passed.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
Democratic Party based their ideas off of the Jeffersonian Democracy the Democratic-Republican party became democrat
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
It was Republicans that were union supporters, it was republicans that put forth the first income tax, it was republicans that supported public schools and welfare, it was republicans that started the progressive movement, it was republicans that support infrastructure, it was republicans that supported a stronger and larger federal government and much more. The Republicans were liberal and the Free-Soil and Northern democrats were liberal they were the small minority of the democrats
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
Learn your facts the democrats were conservative and the republicans were liberal.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
The Republican Party were liberal and supported a stronger Federal government, public education, they put forth the first income tax, they supported Tariffs and protectionism. Republican Party supported infrastructure as well and they were the ones behind the progressive movement.
The Republican Party of back then is not the Republican Party of today just like the Democratic Party of back then is not the Democratic party of today, they changed ideologies.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 Woodrow Wilson a DEMOCRAT amended the Constitution to allow income taxes with the support of a Democrat Majority in the House. Some Republicans went along as initially it was intended to be a TEMPORARY tax!
I would agree that both parties are perversions of what Websters Dictionary would define them as being as neither Party is 100% represenative of what they are supposed to be. But it is disingenuos to say Dems are what Repubs were & Repubs are racists, LMAO!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
The 16th Amendment had support from Republicans and Democrats
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
Like seriously, get real
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
So technically the republican party was formed by the Democrats.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
George W. Bush installed labor camps on military bases.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 Please share your demographic "Source" of Republicans that supported FDR interment camps? FDR was a Democrat Racist still held in high favor by dems today
Rex 84 was established on the reasoning that if a "mass exodus" of illegal aliens crossed the Mexican/US border, they would be quickly rounded up and detained in detention centers by FEMA. This arent interment camps intending on holding people for years but transition stations to send them back! FYI Obama still has it in play
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
And FDR wasn't racist and the internment camps had nothing to do with racism, race might of played a part but it wasn't "RACISM"
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 FDR had majorities in both the House & Senate it was DEMOCRATS that allowed my grandmother to be thrown into a prison, please reference me your source as it was a Republican majority that imprisoned her because of the color of her skin, slant of her eyes & her Japanese ancestry? She didn't recall seeing ANY GERMAN AMERICANS or AMERICAN ITALIANS in there with her!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
It doesn't matter who has the majority. The minority party in congress also creates plans and laws and a lot of the time the minority party in congress gets his laws passed. Its not who has majority but who creates the policies and who voted for them. It had a huge vote and both parties supported FDR and his internment camps. Again Reagan had Rex 84, Bush had labor camps, and Republicans created concentration camps during the Philippine war.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
It had nothing to do with racism.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 No Italian or German Americans were placed in FDR interment camps only Japanese Americans!!
Wilson ALLOWED blacks to be hung took NO ACTION to stop it & created segregation but you say these acts don't make him a racist. Wow you will justify anything to protect your beloved democrap party!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
Oh shut the fuck up with trying to now thing Rex 84 was necessary. It had nothing to do with Illegal Aliens. Here is the definition of Rex 84. CONTINUED
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
"Rex 84, short for Readiness Exercise 1984, was a secretive "scenario and drill" developed by the United States federal government to suspend the United States Constitution, declare martial law, place military commanders in charge of state and local governments, and detain large numbers of American citizens who are deemed to be national security threats
Yet it doesn't get into specifics and it allowed the suspension of the constitution, yes so it is imprisoning Americans for no reason
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 FEMA Camps are still in existance today, & we have a Democrat President.
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
He was a Republican
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 FEMA Camps are still in existance today, & we have a Democrat President. I read wikipedia's version & a more extended version of the same thing at global research.ca.
Scary shit, don't worry those of us who believe in the Constitution, rule of law & the rights of you as an individual will protect you with the guns you would like governement to take away from us.
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
FDR at least got rid of the internments.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
More batshit. You aren't doing anything. You scream at the Occupy protestors calling them criminals for being on property that isn't there's or shitting on a cop car that was a police who probably performed police brutality then you teabaggers are all about following the rules letting the status quo fuck you in the ass because you clean up and make sure its during hours that are allowed all this bull shit but base yourself on real hardcore criminals which are the founding fathers
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
You are a nut.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
And what does Obama still having it in play have to do with anything? You people are fucking unbelievable, why to bring it all back to Obama. You have no argument so you try to be like "well Obama still has it" Obama didn't pass it Reagan did and guess what FDR got rid of the internment camps in WW2. So why don't you thank him asshole.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 REX 84 was never implimented & not based on RACE, like my grandmothers imprisonment!
You are EVADING the facts I have provided to support your fabrication that FDR wasn't a racist!
Obama is a DEMOCRAT President yet still pays to keep FEMA Camps open!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
Rex 84 was passed you asshole and it is implemented. No one has ever declared Martial law but it was passed and it has been implemented. So yes there are camps and prisons and yes American citizens are in there and it was under Reagan and republicans and yes it is a lot worse than what FDR's internment camps are which provided them with education, health, food, entertainment, and it wasn't across the entire country and it wasn't permanent, unlike Rex 84
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
Bush as well, and under Republican congress's why not mention them?
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
And Republicans in Washington who were in control of the military during the Philippine War established concentration camps for Philippines. Conservatives in Washington both republican and democrat at that time sent Native Amerians in concentration camps and in fact the whole institution of Slavery is one big concentration camps and yes conservatives were the ones who supported slavery and the Democrats prior to the New Deal were conservative.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 Abraham Lincoln a REPUBLICAN freed the blacks. It was the abolitionists or religious RIGHT of the day that abhord slavery & supported him! More % Repubs supported 1964 civil rights act!
You would rewrite all US HISTORY to create a better image of the LEFT then just accept the ideology for what it was then & is now?
DEMOCRAT Wilson SEGREGATED blacks from whites in our military, FDR IMPRISONED my grandmother because she was american japanese not illegally entering the country.
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
The Republican Party was not conservative they were liberal, Lincoln wasn't even religious.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 Lincoln was not an atheist he might have been homosexual but he wasn't an atheist as I have read nothing to justify such a claim! please reference me your source that he was?
I can see how it might be possible for a man to look down upon the earth and be an atheist, but I cannot conceive how a man could look up into the heavens and say there is no God."
Abe Lincoln
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
-- Abraham Lincoln
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
Wilson gave equal pay to blacks and whites serving in the military, he appointed some black officials and he got support from the NAACP
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
I don't agree with the internment camps but it wasn't because of racism and he got rid of the internment camps as well after WW2
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
You got Bush installing labor camps on military bases, you got Reagan and Rex 84 which suspended the constitution and locked up Americans that he doesn't like without due process, you have Republicans during the Philippine War and installed concentration camps. You want to be bias well so can I.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
All Republicans were like this everyone was racist at that time for the most part.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
Wilson also segregated the military not because he was racist but because he was trying to protect and avoid any racial conflicts between blacks and whites. That is why. It had nothing to do with segregation or racism.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 Great try to justify racism because he was a Democrat!
Wilson did not speak out against lynchings or the KKK which grew in great ranks during his presidency either! He allowed the destruction of the laws that protected blacks!
Liberal academic historians consistently put Wilson in the top 10 or 20 of American presidents FDR is top 5! Our college proffessors love bigots!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035
The separation was to avoid anyone from being hurt
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
College professors don't love bigots
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@joe035
And again everyone had their share of racism during that time period. Lincoln supported Colonization, said that blacks and whites can't be together and said that he would of kept slavery if he had any other way of try to defeat and win the civil war. Mostly everyone was like that. The only people that weren't are the radical republicans which got a lot of hate and didn't last but they were very liberal to a radical sense.
cinemafreak666 4 months ago
@cinemafreak666 The NAACP worked for more than a decade to obtain federal legislation that would render lynching illegal. Throughout these lobbying efforts, the organization regularly displayed a black flag stating "A Man Was Lynched Yesterday" from the window of its New York offices to mark each outrage. This was THROUGHOUT Wilsons Presidency!
The guy could have hung blacks from the white house gates & because he was a Democrat you would claim it wasn't because he is racist, pathetic!
joe035 4 months ago
@joe035

@Claronium780 The DEMOCRATS passed that HC Bill with DEMOCRAT MAJORITIES in both the House & Senate.

Fire Obama things will improve!
joe035 5 months ago
@joe035 "Fire Obama things will improve!"
TheSnoopy1750 5 months ago

Doesn't work for me.

@JonahtheFigPucker Many of the founders feared it may take makelegitimacy from the Constitution
