You have to check out Iphone os 4.0 it clearly is the best yet. I got it from iphone os test dot c.o.m. This is not spam I have nothing to do with them except that I used their service to get 4.0.. besides the features that it has I have not dropped a single call since upgrading

This isn't all that impressive. No one needs to have a map, and 2 plus other apps running while also being on the phone....that's not what a cell phone is intended to do. don't get me wrong Smart phones are great. I just think they are stretching the market waaaaaaaaaay too thin.

@bently103 even if you call me an idiot thats still not multitasking! That's simply the new app switcher - which is only the user interface for multitasking. The video shows not one app which is running in background (except the Phone app). All apps shown are freezed in it's state and if you tap on it the state of this app is restored. Apples new multitasking is a collection of services which enables Apps to run some functions in background (audio, location service, and so on...)

@gadgettowave apps will still run in the background. Pandora, navigation and more will still operate. Do you want PvZ to run while you are checking a text message or am I missing the point of your post all together. Simply put, music players and more will run, I've tested it on my friends iPhone.

@wtfConweezy Apps will generally freeze in background - except the developer has used one of the 7 APIs Apple provides in iPhone OS4 to enable services or parts of his app to run in background! I know it's a little confusing but we are currently testing the new possibilities of the new APIs. All Apps currently available in AppStore have to be rewritten to use the new multitasking APIs! Again: it's not the full app which is running in background.
