@after11tv Not if you use more than a handful of plugins and have more than say 10 tracks. In reality this takes just 60 seconds. I used to just save plugin presets, and this is more efficient for me
Graham - being as close to Avid as you are - do you have any idea why? This feature would be useful for every single mixer in the universe, without exception. Thanks again for your video's and tutorials.
Yeah. I use this sometimes. But being a Logic user who now switched to Pro Tools, I have a hard time understanding why you cannot save channel strip settings (chains). This feature is the one I miss the most after switching. Being able to load a chain of plugins + their settings was an excellent starting point for mixing or creating. I could have a setting called "Rock Vox 1", and it imported Gate, Deesser, SSL Comp, CLA-76, Puigtec EQ, Echoboy - etc. It was just a drop-down from channel menu
Great! I must say though, that the process in Cubase 5 is much easier. You just right click tracks in the mixer, and click save track settings. You can save for individual tracks, multiple tracks, or whole mixer settings. You then load them from wherever you saved the settings on your computer.
However, the options in the PT dialog box do seem more inclusive, as they include the options for importing so much data, whereas in Cubase it only loads track settings like volume, plugins, etc.
this is cool but as i can open 2 projects simultaneously i copy and paste also i use logic so it wouldn't work for me very interesting though

So just to confirm: this is NOT on Pro Tools 8?
gwell12 2 months ago
@gwell12 Correct. You can import session data in version 8, but not this specific way. Only in version 9 or 10. Sorry for any confusion.
