It's kind of ironic, that the female voice almost sounds like Candice Night. There is no way in 100 years that it could possibly be her, but it sounds pretty close.
***** I hear your footsteps on the ground Tempting me to turn around It's just the echo Of a disenchanted lover Shuffling aimlessly Homeward bound To empty rooms And picture frames And Friends Who can't recall our names
I found my self stuck in a pathetic situation last night. (oh yeah, there's a girl), and then I stumbeled upon this song. After getting pissed-drunk, I made the intelligent decision to send her the link to "Haunted". It went really well actually. Not! :o))
AkeksandrScheffler is a nugget. he says if he was given the opportunity to write with Blackmore he would say 'no' because of his drama. FOOL. Blackmore is the man
oh really, apparently you don't know anything about me nor my personality. I stick by what I say, I respect Blackmore greatly as one of the greatest if not the best guitarist to ever exist, but every Deep Purple must also radically accept that Blackmore is one of the biggest assholes in rock history, and that is why I would never write music with him, it does not lead to productive material in my honest opinion
@fezzappa lol he has been dressed up like a gnome plaing that baroque shit. I don't like that Ritchie, but he has always been wierdo, obssessed with castles and middle ages..
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Omg.. He is a terrible singer these days. He was the best, but now he is just a sad story after his throat operation. They would take back Blackmore and Turner, and it would be an awesome band, They already has the name so why not. Turner is the best singer now days, in the world :) Plus that he is a wonderful person. Met him several times and always wonderful. Love Joe Lynn Turner
Ritchie was Purple's best guitar player, but overalll Morse is much better because he is down to earth, and more straightforward rocker and writes brilliant music and does brilliant versions of Blackmore era tunes. Deep Purple with Morse is not drama filled like when Blackmore was in the band, I love Blackmore as a musician, but if I was ever given the chance to write music with him I would say no because of his drama.
The first time I heard Ian Gillam sing was on the first post Ozzy Sabbath album (I think) "Born Again" and I thought him incredible and proceeded to buy every Deep Purple album. Bruce Dickinson said he was a major inspiration.
The only band I've Faithfully loved basically my whole life. I love Ritchie, but I'm thankful for Steve Morse, without him DP would have not survived. They always put out quality music. Cheers!!!
Shit-to-gold ratio.. haha I couldn't have put it better myself! The "SGR" is also oustanding for most British bands of the same age, in my opinion. One of the reasons I admire the people of that tiny island so much, they are so good at good music!
Nothing about Deep Purple is bad. They have released like 18 albums and every single one of them is AWESOME. 'cept for the one with Joe Lynn Turner...lol
Hmm, I've been listening to the re-mastered In Rock album in my car recently..and the difference between Purple of then and now is astounding...however I do like this song..I've only heard this and House of Pain from Bananas..might give it a listen.
Abit cheesy, but, overall, one of the better songs from Bananas...i know it is an instrumental, but Contact Lost blows my mind every time I hear it, especially considering why they wrote it...Morse is a genius...
The guitar solo is just...wow...Steve...

You´re sooo right in that point of view. Its nearly the best song since the D.P. - reunion in1984, but the real old days will never come back.
But nevertheless, one of the most beautiful rock-songs I know ....(a little more than just nice ;).....)

A beautiful song from real musicians. It seems that these days you have to dig through a lot of shit to find a little gold.
If you happen upon a rich vein like Deep Purple, then the shit-to-gold ratio becomes much more favourable.
Follow that vein, my friends.
Theantipoof 3 years ago 42
