Terrible review... If that's you playing in the background video, it's easy to tell that you haven't given this game a chance. Low level F2P runescape=boring. Med to high level P2P runescape=amazing! Probably the best game ever created IMO!

I agree with the reviewer. While people say that the F2P part sucks, then this game is by far the shittiest P2P game out there.
The endless crafting lvling, boring quests and on it goes... And the combat is like looking at a lego guy fighting with other legos. And feeding the little lego guy.
The boringness of the quests is more about personal taste though.
This game is for people who like grinding for items for days and feel great if they happen to get a item in-game after 2-3 days of grinding.

Stop defending Runescape with the old line "It's ran in Java" Java is just a scripting language. It has NOTHING to do with the visuals. Scripting is what it sounds like, scripting in game events like skills, animations, ect. Graphics are controlled by a graphical API, Runescape used to use software, and has now moved on to DX, and OGL, allowing the use of GPU, and CPU.
2/10 are you serious mate. You can't compare it to W.O.W . W.O.W does not run on Java scripts and you have to keep paying like $ 15 every month. Runescape when you run out of member ship you can either buy more and play for free mate. I think you guys need to review Runescape again. That's got to be the worse score and review about this game. The graphics no longer look like legos. There are plenty of interesting quests, each with their own story line. If you read story lines you might find them very interesting. Don't knock Runescape til you try the member version. It's only $5 a month, and that's pretty cheap. I'm aware that not all people are going to like it, but a lot of your points are invalid. Also, don't compare RS to WoW, it will never be like WoW. RS is one of the original MMO's. The first version having come out in 99. Bye

I am a girl, and this game, if you call it one..was pretty fun a first, but then it gets really repetitive, and once people find out your a girl in game they try to flirt with you constantly, i have been stalking in game by these people and its really awkward. Runescape is purely boring.. It isn't a simple case of ''a bit of grinding'' but a ''EXTREME CASE OF GRINDING'' .. To lvl 1 skill + 70, you have to grind for HOURS.. And After the lvl mark of 90, the grinding rate goes up to days..
PvP is a good way to get away from the usual ''grinding on mobs'' and you can get rich + xp on the skill your lvling, till you run into a lvling party..
Killing bosses is interesting? Don't make me laugh, just spam click on food and time your prayer change right. -.-
Did you get members, fight any bosses (yes they have those... I'm not talking about the low level weak one, I mean God wars, Kalphites, King black dragon, etc.) cause that's where the "crappy combat" gets interesting. You manage your health your stats, the monster's stats, prayer, familiar, supplies, switching wepons (against Kalphite Queen) etc. And the graphics are a good 30 times better now then when you reviewed. I'm pretty much out of space, but I disagree. Sorry.
Clearly RS sucks, wow does it much better, hopefully cataclysm would make up for easy raiding stuff. what do you mean not needed? classes are an internet standard for MMO's so you can keep a balanced character, rather than in RS where you can get to 99 in everything and then become broken as all hell. what separates skills such as mining and woodcutting? they're both the same, and thats just the first example that came to mind. while there is a lot to do, most of it is the same. i guess its not truely a bod game, its just more and more repetition.

i used to play this game. its ok if you just want a timewaster that doesnt take up a gig of your HDD, but thats all i can see. 85% of the game is repeating the same thing over and over again for hours on different objects. i would find that ok if it wasnt so monotonous. click once, wait for monster to die, click on another. the magic system is ok, but its friggen expensive to do. most other click based games at least offer some kind of effort or strategy. i give it a 22/100.
What difference does it make? Most of the stuff you do in Runescape HD is the same as what you do in other games, and it looks better in other games too. The fact remains: The graphics are composed of stop-motion lego pictures programmed for a moveset.
The gameplay is boring as watching paint dry while watching grass grow while sitting in a stationary car hoping for it to move.
The sound is crap smashed together... literally.

I think this is the best mmorpg cus of the stuff it has got, its got everything to it, all them skills, and i think its got the best ever quest in any mmorpg
RuneScape FTW. It's fun, simple, and does NOT take much of your time if you can manage it. Whereas in WoW, you have to stay on for 4 hours even if you can't just because you're on a raid.
I'm glad there are others that like Runescape. Sure runescape has bad graphics but it sure is an addicting game. I started it again after quitting 5 years ago.
all 20 skills in runescape are the same thing, and a child can understand that all you need to do is stand in a room with supplies and click... putting runescape up vs WoW is like putting a decapitated pig up vs 13 veloceraptors, even more so if the pig had any lag O_o
You can If you see fit though your never force to get new skills but you should upgrade existing ones.
Wow controlls are very very very simplictic everything is laid out very nice and Easy for anyone to use no tutorial required since its all common sense.
The wasd controlls work for the game no movement trouble everything flows perfectly.
Wow quests are some of the best ive played in mmo's.
well i wouldnt say you have 14 skills to look out for in wow. on my hunter whos only just hit 80 (i suck at leveling) theres atleast 23 skills i need to be looking out for all the time and using/monitoring. so im not sure where you got that idea from. everything else i agree with tho

Wow sir YOU are a retard. runescape is pretty much the only game that sucks monkey bullocks. you get about 40 quests and you have to pay to get more. after those quest the only thing left to do is grind insanely long on the most ridiculous of skills (like fire making) to get to level 99. Only to get some stupid cape and a fancy new dance move. as if that wasn't worse enough to get all the capes 90% of the time you have to pay for membership to get to the area's where they give you the capes!
And yes i'm continuing here! thats how bad it sucks! the sounds of this game is like chewbacca dry humping a set of bagpipes. the fancy new hd feature only makes the sound a bit more clear and now you can listen to a more detailed chewbacca getting it on with those same bagpipes! i give neonhowl a gigantic amount of kudo's for getting to the lvl 100 mark. I quited in total frustration at lvl 45.
IT should, it was the first mmo I played and I loved it, but now after I've played more than I can remember kal is really at the bottom of my list. It's a bit boring, the seem to have added a 4th class the thief. Really it could be a whole lot better.

My arguments against Runescape:
1: Much too lag. I get less playing 2011 games like Crysis, both on PC and console.
2: Repetitiveness: I fell like i'm doing the same thing over and over.
3: Slow paced: To do a fun task like a quest or a treasure hunt, you often have to do many boring things eg. mine 100 ore or earn 100000 coins.
4: Time consumption: It takes way to much time to level up, earn money and earn items.
Graphics is not an issue, looking at games like Minecraft, but Minecraft if fast

@WoWitsGeorgii no matter how much you say it...runescape is extremely similar to WoW but with lower graphics...WoW makes better use of proffessions and crafting, WoW makes better use of combat and pvp, WoW makes better use of just about everything that runescape has....the only thing thats really arguable is the storyline...its the only thing thats different..

I am a girl, and this game, if you call it one..was pretty fun a first, but then it gets really repetitive, and once people find out your a girl in game they try to flirt with you constantly, i have been stalking in game by these people and its really awkward. I would never sudjust playing this one unless you had a friend to accompany you and make fun of things with, if not..your bored, and it just wastes time.

Runescape is purely boring.. It isn't a simple case of ''a bit of grinding'' but a ''EXTREME CASE OF GRINDING'' .. To lvl 1 skill + 70, you have to grind for HOURS.. And After the lvl mark of 90, the grinding rate goes up to days..
PvP is a good way to get away from the usual ''grinding on mobs'' and you can get rich + xp on the skill your lvling, till you run into a lvling party..
Killing bosses is interesting? Don't make me laugh, just spam click on food and time your prayer change right. -.-

Did you get members, fight any bosses (yes they have those... I'm not talking about the low level weak one, I mean God wars, Kalphites, King black dragon, etc.) cause that's where the "crappy combat" gets interesting. You manage your health your stats, the monster's stats, prayer, familiar, supplies, switching wepons (against Kalphite Queen) etc. And the graphics are a good 30 times better now then when you reviewed. I'm pretty much out of space, but I disagree. Sorry.

Clearly RS sucks, wow does it much better, hopefully cataclysm would make up for easy raiding stuff. Rs will always suck as the game only is about making money, if you want tht dirty feeling of ya then do some WoW quests. Even though yes most of them in northrend are stupid grinds that i would rather do another day. Took me 2 months just to get 5k g in wow of only doing dailys each day(such boring repentivenessX_X), RS=6 months atleast, its a P2P game with nothing but shit(RS)

what do you mean not needed? classes are an internet standard for MMO's so you can keep a balanced character, rather than in RS where you can get to 99 in everything and then become broken as all hell. what separates skills such as mining and woodcutting? they're both the same, and thats just the first example that came to mind. while there is a lot to do, most of it is the same. i guess its not truely a bod game, its just more and more repetition.

i used to play this game. its ok if you just want a timewaster that doesnt take up a gig of your HDD, but thats all i can see. 85% of the game is repeating the same thing over and over again for hours on different objects. i would find that ok if it wasnt so monotonous. click once, wait for monster to die, click on another. the magic system is ok, but its friggen expensive to do. most other click based games at least offer some kind of effort or strategy. i give it a 22/100.

What difference does it make? Most of the stuff you do in Runescape HD is the same as what you do in other games, and it looks better in other games too. The fact remains: The graphics are composed of stop-motion lego pictures programmed for a moveset.
The gameplay is boring as watching paint dry while watching grass grow while sitting in a stationary car hoping for it to move.
The sound is crap smashed together... literally.
The music is boring as the 1st Circle of Hell (I saw Inferno).

RuneScape FTW. It's fun, simple, and does NOT take much of your time if you can manage it. Whereas in WoW, you have to stay on for 4 hours even if you can't just because you're on a raid.

You don't need to learn alot of skills in wow.
You can If you see fit though your never force to get new skills but you should upgrade existing ones.
Wow controlls are very very very simplictic everything is laid out very nice and Easy for anyone to use no tutorial required since its all common sense.
The wasd controlls work for the game no movement trouble everything flows perfectly.
Wow quests are some of the best ive played in mmo's.

well i wouldnt say you have 14 skills to look out for in wow. on my hunter whos only just hit 80 (i suck at leveling) theres atleast 23 skills i need to be looking out for all the time and using/monitoring. so im not sure where you got that idea from. everything else i agree with tho

I'll be honest, i fell in love with this game when i was in grade 4.. Back in the classic it was amazing.
Now that i'm older, i still don't think it's too bad even though i quit. But keep in mind everybody, this is a Java game.
You don't really download anything either.
Though it does get really repittive doing the same thing over and over again after your quests are done..

Wow sir YOU are a retard. runescape is pretty much the only game that sucks monkey bullocks. you get about 40 quests and you have to pay to get more. after those quest the only thing left to do is grind insanely long on the most ridiculous of skills (like fire making) to get to level 99. Only to get some stupid cape and a fancy new dance move. as if that wasn't worse enough to get all the capes 90% of the time you have to pay for membership to get to the area's where they give you the capes!

And yes i'm continuing here! thats how bad it sucks! the sounds of this game is like chewbacca dry humping a set of bagpipes. the fancy new hd feature only makes the sound a bit more clear and now you can listen to a more detailed chewbacca getting it on with those same bagpipes! i give neonhowl a gigantic amount of kudo's for getting to the lvl 100 mark. I quited in total frustration at lvl 45.
