I love the vvtl-i technology but i don't understand why the shift points take the rpms under the crossover. with vtec in the honda motors, it's designed to stay in vtec. It just doesn't make sense why you would wanna constantly drop to lower valve lift if you're tryin to get up and get goin.

Haha worthless. You get 1700rpm worth of lift, so little, that even with a 6 speed and redlining each gear, it falls out of range and flat on its ass between gear changes... Time to upgrade to a Honda buddy.

hondas can only produce vtec where as toyota produce turbo, also twin turbo, supercharged and sorry also VVTL-I mate. Hondas only are only good in a straight line and maybe bends and how many cars can be used as drift cars do they have apart from the s2000 where as we can be all day with toyota. Lol, yotas get 1500rpm more powerband and it's earth-shattering. VTEC allows for a much better mid-range with swirl-inducing cam profile (one valve opens more than the other), and has proven to make crazy power per liter. And FWIW, variable cam timing does far less than a 2nd "hot" cam profile.

Who cares if Toyota got variable timing before Honda - with VTEC Honda didn't need it. i-VTEC was just the cigarette after a hot decade of sex.

so basically some of the exaust goes in the intake manifold before the intake cycle. how does that solve any issue. the cold air gets heated before the intake cycle and the oxygen gets heated thus the volume expands thus there is a loss of oxygen in the chamber. wouldnt this rob emmisions and lose power someone explain

Hell my cavalier had a really good pull at 6500 rpms with the quad 4 dohc. I think a good b16 sounds kinda like a ferrari. But like i said everyone has some sort of variable valve timing electronic lift control. (VTEC) fords zetec, GMs ecotec,mitsubishis mivec, toyotas whatever the fuck its called. but hondas wins.

Actually, Honda's isn't better then any other. They're all the basic same design. Only difference is, Honda uses it to put a more wild camshaft on the crossover, and other companies use a mild camshaft on the crossover.

its a great engine, or it was rather but i think turbo charging the engines for more performance is more efficient as you get the power lower down and u dont need to rip the arse off the engine in order to get the power.
