@Gottogetbetter YouTube completely naused this clip up by removing the original soundtrack because of copyright stuff. I still have the original which is in WMV format. If you want a copy, give me your email address and I'll send it to you as an attachment. Best wishes, Roy
Are you a MACHINE kind of guy or a MUSIC VIDEO kind of guy. I'm guessing people tuning in are MACHINE people. If your not a MACHINE type you will not understand hearing the MACHINE. NO HATE great video.
I trust you have tidied up your flying since this was shot. Tip 1: look out the front during lift off and important to keep straight. Lift collective slowly. Tip 2 Get altitude ASAP, altitude is your friend, you are not flying a scum dog aeroplane.. High Speed close to the ground is deadly.
Sorry Roy, I haven't seen a response. I hope you haven't taken offence. I make constructive criticism with the view that my comments may save someone’s life. From all of my time watching qualified pilots and students they often lack the fundamentals of disciplined flying. These fundamentals are what’s going to save a life when everything goes pear shaped. Example, putting the bird on the ground on the termination of an auto, most important factor is keeping it perfectly straight.Sorry 2 offend
@ColinIngham No offence taken. Your comments were valid. This was Dom's first solo rotary flight. Since then he has accumulated more than 1500 hours (rotary). Most are turbine: MD500E, MD520N, Jet Ranger, ironically working for Hawcs inspecting thousands of miles of power lines for Energex. He's now back with Becker at Sunshine Coast where he instructs, and currently flys R22, R44, Squirrel, Agusta Koala and of course good old Oscar (the Bell 47). Look at my You Tube clips. With best wishes, Roy

The original music with this video was deleted by YouTube for copyright reasons. If you would like to see and here the original clip which my son Dominic (the pilot) created, which I have retained, please send me your email address and I'll forward it to you. You will find this version cleverly appropriate and of course you get to hear the helicopter too!
@PeterNGloor When You Tube removed the Dominic's sound track, the evocative noises of the Bell 47 were wiped with it! Nonetheless I have the master copy of this so can email it to you if you want it. It's in WMV format.
@gwynjones05 I respectfully agree with you, what one misses of a machine like this are the noises, vibrations, smell, etc..a lot of awsome videos like this are ruined by the music...pls let us hear it as it is, my regards to everybody...
This version is not the original that Dominic, my son, emailed me from Oz. Thanks to ludicrous copyright rules, the original music was deleted by YouTube and consequently the sound of the chopper cranking up and getting airborne was lost with it. It really was cleverly put together and the music was very appropriate (Queen: Don't Stop Me Now etc.). If you would like a copy of the original give me your email address and I'll try and send it to you (MPEG format . . .I think!).
The original music that Dominic put with this video clip was deleted by those copyright spoilsports at YouTube. I'm sure you would have enjoyed it. Started off with "Riders of the Storm" (while Dom was fiddling with pre-flight checks) then blending seamlessly into "Don't Stop Me Now" etc as he lifted off on his FIRST solo. Bloody shame they ruined it!
Always wanted to fly Oscar will see when my time comes in about 18 more months fingers crossed!! Watched Beckers from when they had the standard consol in Oscar and then the rebuild (on the net of course) love the 47-G's Still not sure on School I' working in WA now!! will see when the time comes
Oh yeh, love to fly the 47-G and J models....just thought the flying was a bit sloppy on that particular day. Im sure he's a good pilot...we all have bad days....just watch my video of flyin the 47G. LOL..
The real music for me is the sound of the helicopter. I have over 3000 hours of Bell 47 flight time and never tire of it's sound.
