  • d-limonene is derived from natural sources. It is registered by the EPA as a pesticide just like glyphosate or permethrin.

  • great video

  • good video!

  • @ArizonaAdventures LOL! I just found this guy this morning! Great stuff! :-)

  • @sly2kusa lol, small world lol

  • This seems like a good idea, i want to try this. i have bermuda grass growing through cracks in my driveway and in other places i dont want it. Thanks for sharing.

  • while vinegar can be great for the garden, it can also be used to soothe the skin in a desert climate. an amazing organic product :)

  • Couldn't find 10% vinegar or the orange thing. Got some kind of oil soap spray but didn't say anything about what was in it but orange oil. I don't like using the hard stuff because I have puppies, bunnies and birds but I can't find this stuff....how long does it take for this stuff to work, the video cuts off before you get to that part?

  • @MyTwistedSister 9 or 10% vinegar is usually sold in grocery stores under the label of pickling vinegar. Because I can't post links in this field, you can find more information in the Library on the Dirt Doctor web site on Vinegar – The Organic Herbicide, as well as good natural herbicide products in the online store.

  • @TheDirtDoctor Thanks, can I find more about the orange oil product too coz I'm not sure which products are appropriate or meet the specifications/ingredients.

  • DirtDoctor, in regards to adding vinegar to the plant irrigation, wouldn't the acid in vinegar destroy and kill the precious microbes in the soil? Also, the Ph of the solution would be very low by adding 1oz of vinegar per gallon of water...possibly causing a nutrient lock-out of nitrogen, phosphorus, and calcium as the Ph drops below 5. Additionally, if vinegar is an effective weed killer, why would we use it to water our desireable plants?

  • DOES THIS WORK FOR VEGETABLES

  • do you think it would be a good idea to put some apple cider vinegar in the compost tea and if so how much would you use

  • @zstraw87 Something around a cup per cubic yard wouldnt be a bad idea at all.

  • Good stuff mister. Appreciate the "organic thought". Vinegar is interesting for the garden and also other uses I'm finding out.

Now, this past year, 2009, I used "baking soda" as a liming, calcium agent, for tomatoes, any thoughts? I've never known anyone to use it, but hey, love a little experiment from time to time.

Seemed to have worked quite well, some of the fruit had a very clean taste, I'm about certain that the baking soda was the reason.

    Appreciate the videos.

  • Not much, you?

  • what liquid could i use to cut a 20% solution to 10%? he made a point that the solution contained no water.

  • Water can used to dilute the 20% stuff. Next time save your money and buy the 10% product.

  • Thanks for the tip... great idea. We're going to try it today in our garden. Your video ended suddenly... what was the point you were trying to make about the commercial weed killers?

  • Thanks, Torea. Not sure why the video cut off like that. I think Howard went on to say do not use commercial weed killers as they are toxic to you, your lawn and your pets and contribute to pollution. In some of his other videos, he gives the formula for an organic "Round-Up" which I believe consists of orange oil, some disk soap and vinegar. Thanks for watching.
