Vs. may be my favorite album of all time. It's such a perfect title for the way the guitars, bass and drums spar, play off and respond to one another in this aggressive yet beautiful and orchestrated way. Roger, Clint and Pete are so great at what they do and are so great together it feels like a miracle to me that they found each other. And they formed in my favorite city: Boston. (Yankee are re-tah-ded!) The 22 years between Vs. and ONoffON were the lamest 22 years in the history of mankind.
I was at a Stewart Lee comedy gig last night in Edinburgh and at the end he sang this with Franz Ferdinand as backing group! (How I escaped my certain fate is the name of his new book)
@Count22 Indeed. Peter was and is amazing. He was the one that was doing most of the yelling in the background. His followup band, Volcano Suns, was even more witty than MOB in many ways, though more a lope through the Land of the Absurd with some of the best lyrics of that time. Certain Fate is such an amazing song and one of MOB's best. Miller's hearing came apart causing their early demise at their height. Actually, there are one of the few bands that sound as good now as then.
Mission of Burma rocks why even bring up brian adams, besides I hear he also puts on a hell of a show and Pearl jam, well ya know they put on a hell of a show and Eddie Vetter likes Gangreen(sic) and Fugazi-just wish it was abit more evident

I've listened to Nirvana without thinking like that I was like "Haven't heard them in a while, let me listen to them" then I was like "god this sucks".
Dude, you are sooo wrong about Grunge and Emo. Grunge talks about real life. Emo basically talks about a girl cheating on another guy or something like that. Emo is garbage, but I love Grunge.
@BeatleFan93 Yes, FUCK EMO. Its pointless and stupid. Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Groove Metal, Extreme Metal, Black Metal, and Punk are better than Crybaby Emo Music! Grunge > Emo! Thumbs Up!!
@PureDomination69 yeah emo does suck, but so does death metal, groove metal, extreme metal, and black metal. Metallica, The Stooges, and Mudhoney>My Chemical Romance
@yamon98 Absolutely. Black/Death/Extreme metal are as much of self-parodist, cartoonish joke as Emo, with even worse fans. They should never spoken of in the same vein as Classic Punk and Post-punk.
So do you like the song featured in the clip, produced by AMERICANS, or do you not? Why the fuck are you suddenly talking about Americans and one band that you don't like instead? Is this random, pointlessly shit-stirring posting supposed to be the product of an "enlightened" non-American mind?
Awesome. These guys influenced R.E.M., who covered Burma's Academy Fight Song. Good old basic rock and roll with passion. These guys, Husker du, black flag, etc- they were seminal back in the late 70's and early 80's.

Really sick of people labeling music/bands.If you like the song, you like the song.Doesnt mean their gods or saviors. It just means you like that song.

Pearl Jam is a horrible band,do you like Nirvana also?
Grunge is Emo with sweat marks.

Both terms are popular music leisure industry franchises. Listen to the damn bands w/ fresh ears and ignore the "file under" critical dweebs.

because "grunge" cunts don't like to associate themselves with emo cunts even though they're the same thing.

why are Americans stupid? You have Pearl Jam. That cancels out anything good you ever produce.

You're only half right. We also make sure there's a Wal-Mart or a McDonald's every city block. That's why we're stupid.
