Does anybody now how to gain traction on mustangs? Every time im trying to race my tires spin a little to mutch, and does yall mustangs shake at around 750 and 1300 rpms;?
@brownmexican1995 your best bet for aid in traction is to talk to the guys at roush about a independent rear suspension kit or do like the old timers and do some traction bars.
Mustangs have a live rear end witch makes it great for drifting and burnouts but off the line you need big money in the suspension
As much as I like the 5.0, the V-6 is by far the best bang for the buck, put in 5 or 6 G's and still comes in under the GT's price....Oh, and nice ride bro!
@vix121 - and it's lighter and faster than the 5.0. This really is the way to go, and I suspect Ford would have done something similar (maybe use its 3.5 Ecoboost?) were it not for the Cult of the V8 that they have to cater to.
@DroverChicago You;re right -- best combo in my mind is the ecoboost v-6 and since I'm lazy a 6 speed double clutch automatic .
You wanna make my week add an all wheel drive option for us snow bound fucks ----- and if you're at it add independent rear suspension for my old bones ..
What you have then is a Taurus that does'nt look like a piece of shit .
@krypekeeper I am not so sure. Maybe low end torque but they don't have the top end of a centrifugal. Plus I could get 500 RWHP if i wanted to turn up the boost, but I also want to keep the stock motor intact. ;)
@wtfruthinking1986 You misunderstand my meaning -- the stock 3.7 has just as much power as an old 4.6 and more than enough for my street needs .
plus its about 10 grand less and gets much better mileage is less prone to be stolen --- is easier on parts & can be made to look as mean as hell .After its broken in I'll install a supercharger or a turbo .( just for the hell of it )
Im thinking about getting one of these, and I have a bama 91 octane tune as well, so can I use the bama tuner for the supercharger upgrade? If i can, id just go with the tuner kit which has no fuel injectors and computer tune.
@bottle2lip Yes. Procharger has not developed the tune for the auto trans. But they have test fit the unit. CFM in florida put one on their auto trans 3.7L mustang.
hey is that air filter coming out of the supercharger a cold air intake? does it eliminate the need for an aftermarket one? if its not a cold air intake is it possible to run an aftermarket cold air intake with this supercharger?
@matt25675 Well its an open air filter. Just like a CAI. It is included in the supercharger kit. It is designed to fit the special intake pipe. A different unit might not fit. a CAI heat shield box could be useful. I contacted three different CAI companies, but none of them were interested in making one for this particular application.
Go to the tips section on the website v6mustangperformance d o t c o m and read the real world gas mileage page. They will not let me post a link on here. :P
8psi is a safe street tune. A custom tune might get another pound of boost. You could also put larger injectors and larger FMIC for even more. If enough of these kits sell then ProCharger will develop a stage II kit. I will be putting a full exhaust system on the car and then lets see what it puts down.
@V6MustangPerformance I was just looking more in depth into the video and noticed the TQ?!? very disappointing, why is it so low? I'm sure you know the saying "HP sells cars and TQ wins races"! Hopefully your supporting mods will up that TQ up!
Wow, it looks crazy under the hood :P Really sweet numbers! Now, since this is the first, Do you think this is the max boost you can put on the stock block? Would upgrading cams even help (partly because Ford put in some sweet cams already in this car)...is 8psi street friendly or is this for strictly track?
@Roush20115XR It's 344lb/ft of torque with WCF, which is still more than the 2010 Mustang GT had..not too bad considering it still only has 6 cylinders.. If you want torque, then you gotta get twin-turbochargers.
Sorry i must have missed that 344! But still? if your paying all that money you should be getting something insane! Example, you said the 2010 GT, with full bolts, cams makes around 340rwhp and 330tq (maybe more but it depends on cams, like comps cams) then add a s/c and your well over 400+ rwhp and tq! So yeah good for a six, but i KNOW other s/c and turbo companies will beat procharger, these numbers seem weak for 8lbs of boost
@Roush20115XR A 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 with a Procharger supercharger gets over 500rwhp lol..and would probably be cheaper than doing all that to a 2010 Mustang GT.
I agree, and there will definitely be more powerful aftermarket superchargers/turbos soon. The 3.7l just hasn't been out long enough yet.
oh i agree 100% on the 5.0 and s/c thing, i was just using 2010 cause you mentioned it earlier! If you just want a GT and a cheap cost the 2010 is the way to go (discounts were pretty insane before) but you can't beat the 5.0 for 30k and all that power and potential power!
All im saying is i would wait before i jumped on this kit! the top is great, but where it counts is all that low end torque! still crazy numbers though
@Roush20115XR V6's rarely have good low-end torque unless you strap on twin turbos, but those are way more expensive than a single supercharger.. I'm just waiting to see what else will come out before I get anything.
how much does the blower cost?

why would you ever even waste your time on a 6 banger Mustang when there is soooo must power to gain from a turbo set up on a 4.6?

@possmguts 4.6L Is "old" now. The 5.0L Unit is much nicer and the 3.7L produces almost the same amount of power as the 4.6L.
