So, I really don't ever comment on these things but I just have to tell you how AMAZING my bread came out! Thank you soooooo much for sharing these videos. I think my husband loves me even more now! I can't wait to share this with friends. Thanks so much for making it so easy to follow! This is my new favorite thing!
I have made Sol's recipe for Challah four times and it turns out perfect every time. I chose not to add raisins and instead of braiding make the coil loaves.
Thanks for the comment. You are the first person to give us feed back on actually using the recipe. I haven't even tried it myself yet ! My father bakes 2 - 3 Challahs every week and so there hasn't been any incentive to do it myself :) Dad will be very pleased to hear of your success.
Before finding your series on YouTube, I tried plenty of other recipes and they were failures. I even watched ExpertVillage's series on how to make Challah -- which also failed. Sol's recipe and instructions helped me learn how to prepare and bake perfect Challah. I made two loaves yesterday! I appreciate that he shared his trick of preheating the oven for rising before forming the loaves -- what a great idea! I now use this trick for yeast rolls. Works like a charm every time.
My eight year old son LOVES watching these three videos. He can't get enough! He acts the whole thing out with Play-Dough. He says he wants to dress up as Sol for Purim.
Sol do you have to use the smaller pan or can you use a larger one? Great job with the explainations as you go, I think we are going to try and give this a shot. Its always been the braiding that i didnt understand!

Possibly one day you and your son can make the real thing together. It's real easy to do, although I must admit I haven't tried to do it myself yet.
