@FreeLlama yes u do. The point is to get far as possible, and if you dive in the air without flipping you will land on your hands. if you flip correctly you will land on your legs. minimizing the impact a lot.
@hipeeps28 well smarty diving get you more far. flipping give you 225 degrees starting from zero incline thats better than 260 degrees and save you from smashing some bones
@FreeLlama yes u do. The point is to get far as possible, and if you dive in the air without flipping you will land on your hands. if you flip correctly you will land on your legs. minimizing the impact a lot.
everyone calm down. parkour was developed by the french military, not by people trying to escape the cops. STFU do some research before you start bagging on the talented
But shouldn't they have measured the force of the dummy landing on his feet rather than stomach, to demonstrate how a normal person would break their legs?
They practice for 5 to 10 years and they get swift and they can do this i would like to free run but i dont dare to do it myself and i dont have gyms nearby to teach me how to do it.So i ll try for a few years
@MalfatoIII Well this is called parkour and freerunning first of all, and ofcourse you wont start out by flipping, basic moves first then you can practise flips. I was like u before i started parkour and freerunning, but now such things like this is not like "woooow" for me anylonger. as people say: Practice makes perfect.
@T3AMFreeFlow I m more interested in pure parkour i dont care about flips man i just want to learn how to move faster and learn all the jumps not the flips i dont care about that i care about climbing up the wall, wallruning, and geting down from biger hights to jump down and ofc how to catch another building when jumping. But as i said i dont have anyone to teach me :(
@MalfatoIII ditto. parkour was designed primarily for getting away from the cops. think about it, what parkour movie ISN'T about running away from cops?
@robinhoodsun O for sure it s usefull for running from cops but i just need for free movment as i said just to get swift not to run from anyone but flips they look cool yea but they take much more energy then the movments i said. And it increases your endurance maybe i m wrong about the flips but i dont think why should i learn them it s just for show off and i m not interested in that.So practicly for me learning parkour would be just to learn to move faster not anything else
@MalfatoIII i agree. i can flip but would never risk using it in a chase situation. flipping is easy once you know how. i taught myself at age 30. never too late to learn.
@robinhoodsun I think people fail to realize what David Bell is protecting here. Parkour isn't about running from the cops, or running away after you've stolen something, it's about respecting yourself and respecting your surroundings as well. The philosophy behind Parkour is that if your can overcome an obstacle, you feel a sense of achievement, that sense makes you feel like a better person and if you feel you're a better person, you will be a better person; so intern, Parkour makes-
@robinhoodsun -you a better person. And that's what Parkour is about. Respecting yourself as much as you respect your surroundings. Yes, you have an idea that you can out-best your opponent through obstacles, but that's not what Parkour is.
@robinhoodsun It was not designed FOR running from cops. If your only education on Parkour is the "movies" then, that says it all. You're only displaying that you're extremely ignorant to Parkour.
Go tell David Belle that he created it for rrunning from the cops and ewatch him laugh in your face then, explain to you how you are so extremely wrong.
@ProTuner06 before you call me ignorant(too late). exit through the gift shop is a documentary about graffiti artists, idiot. the scene i mentioned is of a graff artist escaping from cops. when did i say it was designed FOR this or that? nor do i give a shit about it's history. i was running and jumping before this parkour became a fashion statement.
@kipp200 of currse its correct parkour to move from a to b and overwind every obstecle in its way in the most efficiant way if you do a flip its not efficient any more so its not parkour its free running
@Piliongamer Parkour and Free running aren't much different, people have just seperated them so much by saying one is all about tricks and ones all about being fast.. Its stupid, both of them are about movement, evolution and connecting with your environment. So its pointless to say that once you do a flip, its nothing to do with parkour..
why does everyone get it wrong? it's not parkour if the flips are involved...it's freerunning. Parkour is using vaults or anything that makes sense to help you get from point a to point b fastest and most efficient.
My favorite part i laugh at everytime they make a big deal about how Ryan needed a roll so he didnt break his legs and at the end Daniel does a sideflip at the same height without a roll and is fine haha
what i dont get is the gay american narrator is say it would kill any normal human being, THEY ARE NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS!!! THEY JUST TRAIN FUCKING HARD AND ARE GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO!!!
fuck these people trying to explain parkour like it was fact. The truth is there is no fact it's an art! If they wanna know a fact about landing it's called a safety it pretty much secures the landing you dumbo's. Carry on studying science and leave the art to us. Thank You
@bluejelly100 I agree the scientific side makes it pointless because than you can plan things out a head like how you should land and you never make mistakes and never truely progress. the only thing these "scientists" proved is that they cant explain parkour lol
people still don't understand that its all natural our body's are made for all that and at 1:02 he says moves like those would kill ordinary humans but we are ordinary humans. All you need is to make the choice to break the boundaries of life and evolve - Pedro jahir Guerrero
not realy.. there is always science behind evrything its just movement and a way of other tracers and me having fun =D even science will explain evrything.. but the belief of god will not.. to me god will live on
